Summary: Freddy a daddy?
Review: Yes, in "A Nightmare of Elm Street 5: The Dream Child" Freddy Krueger, the dream demon (?) toys at having a progeny in this fifth installment of the iconic 80's horror series. This one is MUCH better than "Freddy's Dead" and the last truly traditional Freddy flick before "New Nightmare." The film puts a new spin on the old dream-killing motif by having Freddy haunt the dreams of the unborn child of "Alic" from the 4th film. He is supposedly going to "teach" this child his evil ways. Which brings about some interesting questions about the film's mythology: 1. CAN Freddy die? He never really seems to be gone and 2. Is that why he wants to train a little Freddy, mini-Freddy? Anwyay,Fans should enjoy this movie, it has the tried and true "Freddy" stuff: teenage victims/ heroes/ heroines (especially Alice who is worth day-dreaming about!), great special effects *before the digital age, mind you* stop-motion, animatronics, etc. and a cool, final showdown with Alice and Freddy in the church(?) from part 4.Robert Englund, as usual, does a wonderful job with Freddy. He really is a horror-icon up there with the best of the horror genre's recurring characters like Dracula, Wolf-Man, etc. The rest of the cast (excluding the girl who plays Alice) just goes through the paces and is there more or less to get sliced up in increasingly creative ways *my favorite is the comic-book guy's demise* The film also delves into the always-cool "Freddy" mythology *if you want to call it that* and is just a generally fun movie to watch. Think about this: Remember renting all these on video tape when you were a kid? These are the films that made movies like "Scream" successful. The "Nightmare.." films are all sort-of classics in there own rights *especially the 1st-3rd films in the series* These "Nightmare" DVDs are a real dream. They are presented in full or widescreen *menu choice* and look pretty darn good on your tv. If you're a fan then purchase this to add to your horror/ "Nightmare on Elm St." collection, even non-fans should enjoy this flick for pure, horror entertainment.

Summary: ITS A BOY!
Review: Better than part 4 but doesnt hold a candle to the first three films. This time around Alice is pregnant and Freddy uses her unborn babys dreams to get to her friends. Some very good special effects and some over the top blood and gore make this a worthy addition to the series, but I still prefer the dark and evil Freddy other than the wisecracking icon he has become.Another good thing about this movie is it goes into detail about Freddys mother and even shows how freddy was born.

Summary: Darkest of them all
Review: Yes, these are horror films and they're very dark. However, this one is the darkest of them all as far as I'm concerned. Freddy's make-up is brilliant. Very spooky. And there is a lot of genuine scares in this film. And the movie doesn't let up on Freddy's bizarre ways of tormenting his victims. Gretta's stuffed-mouth scene is very memorable and Dan's death scene is also very bizarre. The images and story of the film are also spectacles of the Nightmare On Elm Street series.

Summary: Sweet Dreams!
Review: Freddy returns again in this better than average 5th installment to the Nightmare on elm street series. Alice returns in this one only this time around she is pregnant. This movie was a little better than part 4 but still lacked the suspense of the first 3 films. The acting was better than part 4(THANK GOD! ). The Death Scenes were very gory but the body count was low. I guess they wanted to go with Quality not Quanity method. For example Freddy Cuts a girl open at the dinner table and makes her eat her own insides which she finally chokes to death on. Some of the scenes from this film was cut in the theatre. That should give the people who seen it only in the theatre enough reason to at least rent it and watch it. Rated R graphic violence and gore, Nudity

Summary: Okay if you're a die-hard fan, I suppose.
Review: Freddy, that man of a thousand wisecracks, returns to haunt slumberland once more, this time preying on Alice from Part 4's unborn baby in order to bring victims into his home-spun nightmares. After the dire Part 4, this at least returns the series to its darker, more sinister roots, and the soundtrack is wonderfully surreal. There is also no shortage of imaginative sets and wonderfully other-worldly images. But one of the main problems is the fact that, apart from Robert Englund who is at his best, everybody seems to be acting out their characters as though they're doing nothing more than filling a contract obligation. The cast consists mainly of the usual irritatingly thick teenagers, and if you don't care what happens to them then frankly the suspence just isn't there. And the latter half of the film becomes boring, dragging on towards a less-than-satisfactory climax. The idea involving the dreams of the unborn baby is certainly original, but unless you're a die-hard fan of Freddy or special effects then I wouldn't bother.

Summary: At last, Ive seen it!
Review: Ignore my previous review because now I have actually seen this installment. Why do people not like this one? It was better than part 4 and Freddy has a much darker/sinister look about him. It has superb f/x and a gothic style setting. The acting wasn't too bad and overall I have to say I liked this one. THE DREAM CHILD is one of the better sequels.

Summary: Say what you will.....
Review: Other than the original, this is my favorite in the series. I really don't know why. I just like how there was NO mercy in this. Just about everyone died, even the most likeable characters. Call me desensitized, but I love it when perfectly innocent people in movies get killed. It makes it more suspenseful. The best kill on here is definetly when the guy is on the motor bike. Damn, I could literally feel his pain. Just one word of advice: Don't fall asleep at the wheel....

Review: this one is just too gorey,it's stupid.the worst acting that i have ever seen.the only thing good was that it was a little funny cause freddy always makes some funny jokes.

Summary: Could've been better...
Review: Alice, from "A Nightmare on Elm Street 4: The Dream Master", finds that her friends are getting killed while she is awake (if you don't understand what I'm talking about, go see Part 4: The Dream Master). She soon learns that Freddy Krueger is back, and he is using her unborn child to get to them. There are two scenes in this movie that I thought were quite disgusting. Also, there was one scene where we are shown Amanda Krueger being taken into the operating room, because she is about to have a baby (this baby is Freddy Krueger). There is only one thing wrong with this... In Part 3: Dream Warriors, weren't we told that when Amanda was finally found after being raped repeatedly by "a hundred maniacs", she was "with child" (ie. Freddy Krueger was already born)? In this movie, she was still pregnant when she was found. This was the only flaw in the movie. The poor plot made this movie unenjoyable to watch... This, and Part 2: Freddy's Revenge. The rest were very good, the best one being the original.

Review: This is not the greatest Elm Street movie lets face it. Really its the worst out of the series. I don;t really get what the baby has to do with Freddy he wants Alice not her kid. But if your a die hard fan see this movie.
