Summary: good idea, bad script
Review: Wes Craven decided to make a Nightmare on Elm Street movie by mixing reality with fantasy. This was a good idea but the movie itself just wasn't good. The fist half of New Nightmare is slow and drawn out while the second half barely picks up and leaves a mediocre ending. If you are curious to see this film then go ahead and rent it. Still, I think the chances of New Nightmare being dissapointing are very high.

Summary: Queen of Hell
Review: I only saw about a third of this movie, but i thought it rocked. And i think Freddy oughtta get a girl, just not Heather, as that one guy suggested. Anyway, my question is, how can a kid sleepwalk with his eyes open if he's completely aware of what's going on around him? Maybe i'm misintrepreting, but i saw this movie when i was nine, four years ago, and i recall Dylan sleepwalking into the middle of the street on his way home from the hospital, and Kreuger grabbing him from the sky. The kid was wide awake, so how the heck did Kreuger do it? I mightta missed something, though. I loved the movie, and i'm gonna work on that whole Bride of Kreuger idea this one guy had. Buh-bye.

Summary: The Perfect NOES Sequel
Review: This is a fun NOES "sequel" that doesnt feel like a sequel. The idea behind the movie is unique enough it warrants a purchase... The acting is excellent, and its SOOO cool to see all of our heroes from the first movie interacting... It is clever, and a refreshing reminder of what was right about the first movie and why NOES is special. The child actor is a little errrrr (remember him from Full House? hehe), okay well he isnt Linda Blair but thats nothing important... See it, lots of fun to be had.

Summary: Freddy, Heather, and Wes return for one of the best sequels
Review: A Nightmare 7? But Freddy died in part 6! Yes, and this movie does not take that back. Wes Craven returns to the Nightmare series for the first time since his work on Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors. Originally titled Nightmare on Elm Street 7: The Ascension, Wes Craven's New Nightmare is an original idea with masterful presentation.In our reality, we are reintroduced to Heather Langenkamp (the actress who played Nancy Thompson in Nightmare 1 & 3) who is now married and has a young boy. She has a nightmare about a new Freddy movie, a new glove design, and the death of her husband. Trying to live her own life out of the shadow of Nancy, we learn Heather is being called by a stalker who thinks he's Freddy. Life seems quiet until Newline Cinema wants Heather to reprise her role as Nancy in a new Nightmare movie written by Wes Craven himself. Heather is unsure of what to say as she begins seeing strange things occur. Her young son is scared of a mean, old man who he claims is trying to get into their world. Plus, as soon as Heather learns that her husband is working on a brand new design for Freddy's glove, he meets a terrible fate. What's move disturbing is that Heather is not the only one having a rough time. Robert Englund (actor who plays Freddy) and Wes Craven are all having dark dreams. Heather is soon forced into a real life battle with a dark force that likes being Freddy. And only a new Nightmare movie will contain the darkness. This movie succeeds in bringing back the darkness to Freddy that was lost around Nightmare 2 and 3. The acting is superb and Nightmare fans should keep their eyes open during the funeral sequence for old Nightmare veterans such as Tuesday Knight (Kristin in Nightmare 4), Nick Corri (Rod Lane in Nightmare 1), and John Saxon (Lt. Thompson in Nightmare 1 & 3). Overall, a spectacular sequel that certainly revives a lot of faith in the Nightmare series that may have faded over the years. Its hard for fans to not cry for more after the end of this movie. Highly recommended.

Summary: Freddy Meets The Reel World
Review: Original nightmare director, Wes Craven, returns to the film series for NEW NIGHTMARE. A clever installment that is essentially a
film-within-a-film. Of course, Craven used this device again in SCREAM 2 and 3, here it works because of a solid script. The line between
"reality" and fiction is blurred with fun and horrific results. While making the latest Nightmare sequel, the cast and crew are shocked to learn that
the fictional killer has somehow crossed over into the real world and is out to get them. The film reunites original cast members, Robert Englund,
Heather Langenkamp, and John Saxon (all playing themselves and their characters) for some reel scares Of all the sequels, this is my favorite,
because it takes everything that made the first one work and builds on that. The DVD has the same features as the other films in the series. Viewers can "Jump To A Nightmare", and see Freddy in action, whenever you
wish. There is an enjoyable commentary from Craven that is never dull.Finally it also has a
host of DVD-ROM extras for you to enjoy. Recommended

Summary: Old Characters, Old Nightmare
Review: hello. i am not really a fan of freddy kreuger, nor do i wish to be, and this is not a NEW nightmare, ..., it was good and all but the character of freddy is just not right, and very stale, to be sure. so, all in all, this wasn't scary and really wasn't that entertaining. if you want a good, long-lasting movie killer who you'll NEVER get tired of seeing, try some of the friday the 13th movies, but if you decide to watch the first two then don't sit through them waiting for a hockey-masked jason, 'cause that's not until the 3rd part.

Summary: Wes Craven's New Nightmare
Review: Wes Craven has one of the most horrific imaginations ever and the ultamite film "New Nightmare" will prove him GUILTY in Fred Krueger's Nightmare Courtroom! From Nightmare One where Fred(dy) Krueger was introduced, I'll admit, I was very scared at first because Freddy was new to me (not to mention that I was only nine and chickened out before the movie began.) but over time, I had gotten very used to him; I fell in love with the glove! Freddy introduced me to the wonderful world of nightmares. Honestly, he still cares me now though not as much. I had only seen Nightmares 1, 2, 4, and 6 before checking out New Nightmare. The plot is phenomenal! Wes puts (or is putting) an amazing nightmarish puzzle together. (Actually he already has put that puzzle together, but he let's the audience try to decipher that.) He mixes fantasy with reality; characters to actors and dreams (nightmares) that once realized are (or were) actual events. And even the nightmare sequences are puzzling. Also I revelled at the fact that the characters aren't who they are or . . . I don't know! Even that was confusing! (Until I saw it again, of course!) But what I pondered more was that the last two or three scenes went "backwards!" though hte film was progressing. It's like we went from Seven to One in twenty minutes at least in an attempt to put Freddy to rest. (Laughs) The reunited cast from Nightmare One was spectacular especially Heather Langenkamp. Though Robert Englund gave Freddy his physical attributes, Heather has captivated and brought out Freddy emotionally and psychologically. It's as if Heather and Freddy (not Robert) have a "relationship." (Freddy wishes!) These two have been at it "hand and glove" (no pun intended) trying to out do the other; I believe that they should have kept "Kamp and Krug" together throughout the series. Remember the "Bride of Chucky" or "The Bride of Frankenstein"? Well, I give you (Craven) The horror/comedy: "The Bride of Krueger." (Who Fred's feather? Who else, his sweet, innocent school-girl . . . Heather! Fred glistens, Heather cringes!) Tag lines: Talk about living one's dream . . . or in Heather's case, one's nightmare! One's true love, hand in glove. Till death do us part . . . literally! And for the kids, (not New Nightmare or any in the series obviously) the plot seems like a very familiar story as emphasized heavily in the scenes with "Heather" and "her son" Dylan. Wes did a superb job when he decided to let "Heather" have a son; it definitely reinforces the very familiar "good vs. evil" story structure where the villain strikes, or tries to get to "Heather" (heroine) at her weakest point. But in those scenes, Heather with Dylan, Wes, Jon and/or maybe everyone else she talks to, forces you to pay attention which was Wes' intention when this film was made; Wes wants you to THINK and not just react; also, if you miss any part of the film, you haven't "missed" any part of the story; you pick up the beginning from the end (as with the last few scenes that take you back to where and how this whole Nightmare began--and that's a little foreign in itself sometimes! Wes, I have enjoyed your nightmares and I hope you have many more! As to the "The Bride of Krueger," with mentioned tag-lines, I hope you consider them.
P.S. Please be sure to tell Heather the script this time, unless . . . "One, two . . . Heather's coming for you!" (Laughs) Heather Langenkamp a.k.a. Mrs. Freddy Krueger! To Robert Englund, I tip my "hat" and "take off my 'glove'" to you. You and your nightmares will always be remembered. Anytime, Robert, anytime! I'm always "Ready for Freddy!"
P.S. I hope you claw Voorhees to hell! Wait a minute, you're both in Hell. Anyway, show him that Fred Krug rules the nightmare world and beat his Wayne Gretsky wanna-be behine to death. And to Mrs. Freddy Krueger: (laughs) Heather, if they do make more movies, I hope you decide to "go to sleep" to be a part of them too. If they don't make any more movies, (please bug Craven for me) I hope you remember who you were and who you "came, saw and conquered." Heather, I wish your relationship with Robert, and I dare say, Fred Krueger, didn't have to end, but, you, as well as everyone else, have done a HORRIFIC job in showing us that "it was only a dream," or in "Heather Langenkamp's and Nancy Thompson's case, a NIGHTMARE! Therefore, I leave you with this song: (Freddy voice) "1, 2 . . ." just kidding! (Laughs)
P.S. If Wes approves of my idea, I hope you will take part in it (Let your husband know first though!) The DVD is awesome! I especially love the interactive disc with the menus and games. Even the commentary by Wes, "Freddy", Robert, Heather, and Jon is excellent! The soundtrack is phenomenal! I would recommend this disc or NIGHTMARE box-set to anyone who loves the glove or who loves his "feather" Heather!

Summary: A lot more clever than one might think!
Review: The basic plot of this memerable and truly scary film is the makers of all the other "Nightmare on Elm Street" flicks want to create another fallow up to "Freddys Dead: The Final Nightmare", but when Wes Craven gets started on the screenplay to the 7th Nightmare. A series of bloody and odd muders start happening, and its the work of the monster they have created. Easily the most creative of the series, but it could not have been done without the last 6 "Nightmares on Elm Streets" This DVD is a must own for any horror fans out their, and a good transfer too.
