Summary: OMEN 2 IS A PASSABLE FOLLOW-UP TO THE ORIGINAL
Review: THE OMEN 2 is almost as good as THE OMEN except my only complaint is that DAMIEN does'nt seem to realize that he is the son of the devil he spends way too much time in this film trying to figure it out. I mean SCOTT-TAYLOR does a good job in the title role but the suspense doesn't quite build up to the original throughout the film. There's a RAVEN in this film too and I thought it was out of place as DAMIEN'S protector. The people who begin to suspect DAMIEN'S purpose in life do they or do they not have accidents? I won't say just watch and find out my advice if you liked THE OMEN you'll like DAMIEN OMEN 2 but probably not as much.

Review: DAMIEN OMEN 2 IS ENJOYABLE BUT IT COULD BE IMPROVED BECAUSE I SAW THIS BEFORE "THE OMEN".I HAD HEARD OF THE FIRST FILM AND WAS TOLD THAT IT WAS THE BEST IN THE OMEN TRILOGY.WHEN I WAS WATCHING DAMIEN OMEN 2 I WAS WONDERING WHY DAMIEN WAS SO NORMAL, I MEAN THAT DAMIEN IS SUPPOSED TO BE THIS ANTICHRIST SO WHY WAS HE ACTING SO NORMAL? IT WAS UNTIL THE BIT WHERE SAERGENT NEF TOLD DAMIEN TO READ THE BOOK OF REVELATIONS IN THE BIBLE WAS WHEN I KNEW WHAT WAS GOING ON,DAMIEN DIDN'T KNOW THAT HE WAS THE SON OF THE DEVIL. WOULD IT BE POSSIBLE TO REMASTER THE WHOLE FILM? END

Summary: Fascinating, as in Fascism + procreating
Review: I remember seeing this as a young man, thinking, why can't I go to military school, be a powerful heir of all the riches of the earth and wreak havoc upon my enemies with a full arsenal of supernatural firepower. Did you or did you not shed a tear for Damien at his brother's betrayal? Thrust upon the earth, at the mercy of his heredity. My favorite scene is Damien come of age, entertaining the pretty girls at a cadet function. Now that's living.

Summary: From Hell
Review: The scariest scene in this movie is when a woman gets attacked by a crow out on a road in the middle of nowhere, then is blinded and gets run over by a truck. But this should have been a scene in 'The Birds'.
Damien, the antichrist, is attending a military school, and is now a part of his father's brother's family. In the previous film, Damien's father realized what he was and attempted to kill him, but was shot in the process. So, his brother took Damien in, and now we have this continuation. There's nothing really scary about the story this time around, it's just a standard story about Damien enjoying his family life, while other people begin to fear him. Every time someone comes close to discovering what Damien really is, they die.
The first film succeeded because there's something frightening about little children with their innocence taken away. This time out, we know what to expect, so there are no surprises, and no true suspense. Some of the scenes in the film were ok, such as when Damien's face is discovered on an ancient excavated wall. The music and atmosphere were kind of creepy as well, but the story just kind of falls flat. It's not terrible, but it's not good either.

Summary: Worth a look for fans, but first OMEN is still the best
Review: In William Holden's biography, GOLDEN BOY, he was just coming off the classic film NETWORK when he was offered the lead in the first THE OMEN. He threw the script aside and said it was ridiculous: no one would believe a story where a kid is born from a dog!
THE OMEN would end up being the biggest hit in Gregory Peck's career, not William Holden's.
But he did end up in the watchable sequel.Jerry Goldsmith delivers another great score but the crow is a poor substitute for a demonic creature like the Rotweiler in the original (in OMEN's original script, it was a German Sheperd).
I wish there were more moments of self-discovery for Damien but the kids end up sounding phony spouting lines like, "You're the son of the devil!"
I liked the idea of the excavated wall.
The sequential deaths kept things moving but chopping that guy from DESIGNING WOMEN in half in the elevator was too over-the-top to revive the creepiness of David Warner's demise in the first film.
And William Holden's character's abrupt realization of how things have gone wrong isn't nearly as developed as Gregory Peck's superb dread and grief from the original.
The ending feels rushed no matter how you look at it. I know, I know, it's a sequel. But it's the sequel to a very powerful story and, considering the leads in this film, I ended up wanting much more.
Worth watching though.

Summary: "Please Come with Me, Mark"
Review: Over-the-top but highly effective sequel to the 1976 horror classic "the Omen." Seven years after the mysterious death of his "parents," Daniem Thorne, the Devil's son, is now twelve and living in Chicago with his adopted aunt and uncle. It is during this time when Damien learns his true identity while attending military academy. Meanwhile, folks are coming out of the woodwork to warn Richard Thorne (William Holden) that he and his wife are in danger, but anyone who so much as hints that Damien is the son of Satan gets offed--quickly and nastily. Some scenes are truly creepy; there's one scene that looks like an outtake of "the Birds," only this time it's more gory. But by far the most intense scene is the "confrontation" between Damian and his cousin Mark, who finds out who he really is. The picture is really good, although the Dolby Surround sound is really little more than glorified mono. Nevertheless, this film is flawed but well done and a must-have for fans of the horror genre.
