Summary: Incomprehensibly horrible
Review: As a fan of the first three films (for different reasons), I have to say that I am literally angry for having wasted 45 minutes of my life (I watched it at 2X after the first 15 minutes) with this horrible, horrible film.
There isn't a single worthwhile moment here. The acting is beyond awful, there is NOTHING funny about it (and this coming from somebody who thinks Part 2 is the greatest black comedy ever), there is nothing scary about it, and they DECIMATE characters like Leatherface (who is reduced to a moaning transvestite that is incapable of murdering anybody) and GRANDPA. HOW DARE YOU B*ASTARDS EVEN HAVE GRANDPA IN A SCENE AND THEN HAVE HIM DO NOTHING?!?!?!?!
I'm so angry I don't know where to begin. See #1 if you want to see a scary movie; see #2 if you want a black comedy (and the low point of Denis Hopper's career); see #3 if you just want to laugh at the crazy character Alfredo. This one is an abject disaster.

Summary: Do Not Buy This DVD!!!
Review: Even though it's easily available elsewhere, Columbia has not chosen to release the uncut version of this movie on DVD. The case claims that it has the 94 minute version but it doesn't. The production notes they list are also not on this DVD. Normally this company is trustworthy but here they're just slacking and lying about it.

Summary: MISSING THE POINT
Review: Fans of the original and the sequel usually hate this one, but I almost did too...I saw it on cable and was like...mmh...then I watched it again [I taped it that night on HBO] and watched it with expectations of it to be funny...and it was way better. It's a pretty dumb movie, but it is funny and semi-suspenseful, better then part 3...not quite up to par with part 2, but a great sequel [remake, actually] overall...watch it 2 or 3 times, it gets more understanding everytime! Love the hospital scene featuring cameos from 2 of the stars from TCM 1

WHAT A MESS WE HAVE HERE!!!look people this is the reputation of the TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE on the line here,wich is the HOLY GRAIL!!of horror movies in my book and i know im not alone on that one.part 2 now that one was supposed to be a slapstick!!dummmmmmm!!gooooofball!!of a movie so you can some what enjoy it for what it is.part3"LEATHERFACE" ONLY!!with the UNRATED VERSION/AND ECSPECIALY ONLY WITH THE ALTERNATE ENDING this movie then is a damn good tribute to the original,they should make a special edition with the alternate ending in the feature presentation, then it could be looked at in a whole new way!!another thing BAD!!about part3 is KEN(super crappy actor)FOREE'S he played the stupid in charge machine gun spraying hero in G.ROMERO'S DAWN OF THE DEAD and he is the main down fall in that movie,he plays the same exact stupid in charge machine gun spraying gung fu kicking IDIOT!!in T.C.M 3 wich makes it a downfall.and now for part 4 and or next generation this one was actually moving along pretty well i was enjoying it very much!!!AND THEN!! there was some crappppppp!!about J.F.K's death and that leatherface and his family were the one's who did it while working for the government or some crappppp!!like that and then some messed up dude in a black stretch limoe with a deformed pierced & tatooed belly & chest comes storming in to lecture leatherface and his family about not doing there jobs wright or some crappppp!!like that then he purposely lets the girl in distress go!!!!WHAT???????ARE YOU KIDDING ME??????THE ENDING IS TO BAZAR,CONFUSING,and STUPID that it ruins it 100% so i give it ** and thats only because it had me enjoying it for a while.DONT!! Review: i am a huge tcm fan but this 1 didn't have any wow like the rest. i must say mathew did a great job but whats going on with leatherface is he a transvestite or something. he just isn't scary. mathew was the only good actor in this . ohhh 1 more thing whats with the girl who is she?

Summary: Star-studded Cast
Review: I took one look at the cover of this movie and nearly coughed up blood. In my mind, Matthew McConnaghey(whatever his name is) and Renee Zellweger DO NOT belong in my Texas Chainsaw Massacre movies. It seems downright blasphemous.. until you watch it. This movie is highly hilarious. Here's your summary: Four teens(including Zellweger) go on an after prom ride into the boonies, only to find a nearly dead kid on the road. The teens split up to find help with a broken flash-light, only to run into a crazy redneck(McConnaughey) and his equally crazy family. Hijinx ensue. The old chainsaw family is replaced with a new one which, while my purist side balks, is almost equal to the original characters. Here we have McConnaughey as a crazy mofo with a robotic leg, his quote-spouting brother, his lusty and very battered wife, and, of course, good old Leather. A winning combination. Most TCM fans are angered by the inclusion of Leatherface cross-dressing, and I can't blame them. If the thought of that turns you green, stay away from this movie. I, however, can't argue with Leatherface doing the chainsaw dance in a dress, no sir. This movie is definetely not for purists;. I would, however, recommend it as a good time. Some times you have to be afraid of angry retarded men with chainsaws, and sometimes you have to laugh with them. This movie is for your laughs.

Review: I was not a fan of the original TCM nor the remake, And I know sequls are usualy a lot worse with these kinds of films, but man, this one stunk worse then Pepi Le Pu's laundry.
The movie started of ok, not great, it contained far too much swearing, even by my standards, everything was "F" this, and "F" that, but aside the intelegent dialog bringing it down, the plot was looking ok, as a group of friends find them selves in a carwreck just down the road from Leatherface and the gang.
But from there, the plot went extremly bad, i'd beleive it if the writer said he had written half a script when they started filming, and wrote the rest during, because it went everywhere with no reason.
I suppose the idea was to get cheap scares or something, just stick a girl in a situation where shes running for her life and hope the audience buy it. Well, I dunno about you, but I didnt buy it. I dont get scared, but I know what a good horror flick is. A good one has a plot that makes sense, not just a lot of screaming, growling and stupidity mixed with a bunch of things that dont make sense.
They tried to explain in the film that there is an underground orginization that these guys work for, and that this head huancho just wanted to scare people, not kill them, and his plan went wrong. The ending of the movie was the nail in the coffin to bury this god awful film.
I wouldnt even recomend you hire this film, I wouldnt watch it again if it was on TV, and if it was given to me, i'd use the DVD as a coaster or a frisbie.
My questions to the people who made this film is:
1. How could you make such a bad movie?
2. How could you release such a bad movie?
3. Why did you waste yours and everyone elses time by putting it on DVD?
Dont bother with this garbage, it's not scary, it's not frightning, most of it doesnt make sense as to why it's happening, unless your completly obsessed with Leather Face and wanna see him scream alot but not actualy kill anybody in the entire film, then you might wanna check it out, but no one else would.

Summary: not as good as the original BUT FUN
Review: I've been exploring the Chainsaw series one movie at a time and just discovered THE NEXT GENERATION. It was obvious from the start why this one is so controversial since it's played and written very broadly and for comedic effect but that didn't turn me off. It won me over. Not on par with the original but it is a fun little movie.
