Summary: A good and underrated horror.
Review: It still amazes me to find out how many viewers hate this stylish and atmospheric horror. I know that people who dislike this movie feel that way *only* because it is a sequel to Halloween 1 and 2. These people should spend five minutes reading an anniversary interview with Tommy Lee Wallace, from which they could learn that H3 was not planned as a sequel but only as the beginning of an extension of the series - a "voyage" into themes different from The Shape's line. It was never planned to be titled "Halloween III", actually - only at the last moment did the studio owners decide to do it, against Tommy Lee's will and to his annoyance. This film should simply be treated as a standalone project, only connected with the series by the fact that it takes place at the time of Halloween. Only then will you be able to see that it's in fact a good, very 80s, horror movie, with an excellent, ambient soundtrack - in fact, this film has the best synthesizer soundtrack ever created. As for the famed "annoying" song, it's not annoying in the least, and in fact it gets spooky in the end. And the lyrics to it are read by Tommy Lee Wallace himself!

Summary: THIS IS A WONDERFUL MOVIE
Review: A great movie. Tom Atkins is great. I really just wanted to write to tell people that this movie is awesome.. and that if anyone who agrees and maybe want to talk about it... feel free to write me. white.trash.noise@Juno.com John Carpenter's soundtrack is also a great part of this movie.

Summary: Best Film in the Halloween Series
Review: Director Tommy Lee Wallace effectively used the auteur theory when he crafted this concise and disturbing view of Halloween and its ramifications on American society and mores. This is not a sequel to its predecessors in the true sense of the word. Producer John Carpenter allowed Wallace to effectively spin his tale of the fate on adolescents when they shrug their responsibilities to family life. Dan O'Herlihy is perfectly cast as Conal Cochran the president of Silver Shamrock perpetuator of the deadly Halloween masks. Parents should be warned that this is not suitable for young children under any circumstances!

Summary: Halloween 3
Review: Halloween 3,has got to be one of the scaryest movies ever made. The story/line is great, and the acting is average. But what I relly like about this film is that it gave a darker side to Halloween. And Dan O`Herlihy did a awsome job as a warlock. So trust me you got to by this movie.

Summary: At least they tried something different
Review: "Halloween III: Season of the Witch" is known as the "one that has nothing to do with Michael Myers" and they are right. At least John Carpenter and Debra Hill tried something different, they ran out of ideas with Michael Myers. For people who have not seen this movie yet, don't expect Dr. Loomis, Laurie Strode, Michael Myers or Haddonfield to show up, in this film they never existed.

The story: A local doctor, Dan Challis (Tom Atkins), along with a young lady named Ellie Grimbridge (Stacey Nelkin) stumble upon a plot by irishman Conal Cochran (Dan O'Herlihy) to kill millions of children on Halloween night using rigged masks and a hypnotic commercial. They must stop him before it is too late.

Now, ok, many people hate this movie because it is called HALLOWEEN III, maybe if the name was never used and it was just called SEASON OF THE WITCH it would have fared better. People were expecting more Michael Myers. Not so, John Carpenter, after (supposedly) killing off The Shape wanted to create a different "Halloween"-themed movie each year, but this didn't do well at all so he trashed the idea. The acting in this is eh, so so. Tom Atkins does an ok job, Stacey Nelkin is ok, Dan O'Herlihy is creepy, and the rest of the cast stinks. The music is ok too, lots and lots of synthesized sounds, the main theme is pretty well done, but the rest of the music is repetitive. This is for DIE-HARD "Halloween" fans only, some people love it, some people hate it, if you can get past the fact that this isn't a madman-type knife weilding slasher film than you might like it!

Summary: This movie rocks!
Review: Forget about the other Halloween movies...this is by far the creepiest halloween movie I have seen. The scenes are dark and atmospheric...the moody synthesized soundtrack is truly the best I have ever heard (even by today's standards). Yes, the acting and special effects could have been better but if you look at the movie for what it portrays...ancient wichcraft, stonehenge rituals, sacrifices, halloween origins, end of world events, etc...it really deserves a place in your movie collection.

Summary: Much better than the Previous and Subsequent Ones
Review: I think of myself as a rather rational and intellectual person who is not prone to excursions into absurdity, however, I find "Halloween III: Season of the Witch" to be a true guilty pleasure. Having not liked any of the Michael Myers-themed films in the series, I did like the direction of this really gross-out one about a businessman with malevolent plans on his mind for the little "trick-or-treaters" during the holiday. It does have its unnerving scenes that coincide with the truly horrific subject matter, so it cannot be recommended for the small fry. But, it is a horror flick and it does horrify!

Summary: 8 more days til Halloween, Halloween, Halloween...
Review: Okay, admittedly this one has nothing to do with the previous two HALLOWEEN films, but it's not THAT bad. I would certainly put it ahead of any of the resoundingly awful sequels that came after it (yes, even H2O). I believe that people are exaggerating when they say this is the worst horror movie EVER. Go watch NAIL GUN MASSACRE or MANOS: THE HANDS OF FATE and then come back and tell me what the worst horror movie is! Sheesh.

SEASON OF THE WITCH does suffer from some silliness, but no more so than other B-movies, and at least it has a mostly coherent plot. I would be lying if I said this film scared me, but I do enjoy watching it as a campy treat. Try watching it and ignoring the HALLOWEEN appelation, and I think you will like it better.

5/10 for trying. Gotta love that Silver Shamrock ditty!

Summary: Great film and very original
Review: This is a very frightening film. I saw this movie for the first time on a Halloween night when I was a younger kid. After I saw this film it took me a couple of Halloweens to put my mask on without feeling like bugs or snakes would come out. I really do not understand why everyone bashes this movie. The music and acting are good. Sure it doesn't go along with the other movies but it is very original. I like to put this in when I get tired of watching the same old chase and kill scenes and I think it is the best in the series. It has some of the creepiest scenes in the series. I think this is a must have for any horror movie fan.

Rating: 1 stars
Summary: Only for the Die Hard Halloween series fans
Review: I honestly dont know what the deal was with this movie at all. It had nothing at ALL to do with any of the other halloween movies, and even if they hadnt of been tied it together with the halloween film series it still would have sucked because in my opinion it has no story line, is not scary at all, and has a terrible ending. Anyway dont waste your time unless your a DIE hard halloween series fan.
