Summary: Worst DVD you can buy.
Review: This is the absolute worst DVD out there. It's not the movie itself but the quality of the DVD. The picture is so dark you can barely see it. I watched it for around 15 minutes and had no idea what was going on because it was so dark and the few people you could see had red faces. If you want this movie buy it on VHS.

Review: Man i was very disappointed in this DVD..It wan't the film in which let me down it was the quality of the picture that i got..Iv'e seen this movie many times on cable and it looked 10x's better than what you get on this DVD..And to top it off they choped up the film to censored it asssume. Beware of this folks..Trust me.

Summary: Beware of this version...
Review: I bought a copy of this dvd which I have since returned. The company that released it is Lions Gate Films. The dvd is in stereo but has no extras/captioning, etc., despite the fact that the package says 'Special Edition'. I'm not sure what that means unless they are referring to price, I paid [dollar amount], which would be a steal if the video quality wasn't so poor, i.e: grainy. I don't know what was used to make the transfer but I am betting it was not an original print. Viewed on my dvd player through the component output, the video quality looked like a badly recorded VHS tape, that killed it for me, so I returned it. Is there a better version out there?

Review: THIS DVD LOOKS WORSE THAN A RECORDED COPY FROM A RECORDED COPY ON VHS TAPE.I didnt think that was possible, until I watched this DVD! I hope they release this again on DVD the way it should look.

Review: 'There is no good, and no evil, only flesh. ...Shall we Begin'. The third movie in the Hellraiser series, has Clive Barker's evil 'Lament Configuration Puzzle Box' appearing as dark decoration hanging along side a Joe Coleman painting, at an underground punk / metal bar called 'The Boiler Room'. After a local punk kid is ripped apart by many hooked chains; taken to the hospital to later explode, a reporter is hot on the story.. She finds a goth girl named Terri, who trades information for a place to stay. It seems that Terri has stolen the pandora's box from the club, and later she releases Pinhead from the statue that he is encased in. Pinhead with his Cenobites are free to roam the Earth in a rampage. Each of the Cenobites are based on the single defining characteristic of the person that they had been in life. The reporters cameraman becomes "Camerahead". The DJ from the nightclub shoots CDs, for his weapon of choice, and the former bartender mixes deadly flaming drinks. After a vicious street battle and the destruction of a church, the reporter tricks Pinhead into entering her dream limbo, between heaven and hell. Once there Pinhead's former self 'Captain Elliot Spenser' helps the reporter send Pinhead back to hell. Even though this disc has four minutes cut from it [What kind of Special Edition is that??, they could have also included the Clive Barker documentary which was included on many of the original paramount VHS tapes], many choice scenes include a prostitute who has her skin ripped from her body, and a whole nightclub full of patrons being torn to bits. Better than part 2, not as good as the original. Metalheads should be on the lookout for a cameo from eighties thrashers Armored Saint. Motorhead also do the theme song, and have Hellraiser related merchandise collectors should be on the lookout for.

Review: The only reason I bought this DVD is to complete my Hellraiser DVD collection. Not that I don't like the movie, it's just that the DVD is pretty lame. First of all, this DVD is a special order from Canada. The cover dones a huge SPECIAL EDITION lable on the left side of the cover. Sadly to say, there is NOTHING special about this DVD. The movie itself isn't even in it's original theatrical ration (widescreen), which is a real bummer, and the picture itself is very gainy and not any better than the VHS edition. The only other feature it contains is chapter selection. Woopy (. . )! Every DVD has chapter selections; is this the feature that makes this DVD so SPECIAL! Again ONLY buy this DVD to complete your Hellraiser DVD collection. A real bummer compared to the special features on the Hellraiser 1 & 2 DVD's, but at least it's cheap.

Summary: Better than Inferno or Bloodline, but nothing beats #1!
Review: Pinhead returns for the third installment in the sometimes innovative, sometimes downright boring Hellraiser franchise. This time the action takes place in N.Y.- right, it was actually filmed in Greensboro, NC- don't let the stock footage fool you- with reporter Farrell- (just before she scored her role on ST-DS9, or she might have passed on this movie) looking to do a 'real' story. When an emergency room patient meets an unusual and 'over the top' ending the stage is set for another bloodbath. Pinhead is hiding in a piece of contemporary art this time- which is soon purchased by a jerky night club owner, who along with a cast of unlikable characters, gets just what is coming to him. But,the story moves along, and Doug Stewart as Pinhead as always has a ball tormenting anyone dumb enough to get near him. This was all kind of fun back at the start of the 'Hellraiser' Odyssey, but everytime I think this franchise has run out of steam I see Pinhead staring at me from the box of yet another direct to video sequel at the video store. It's time to pension poor Pinhead out, or at least get someone to write a decent script- hopefully before we reach the sixth sequel.

Summary: Just a Cliche
Review: What started as a great story in Hellraiser got ripped to shreds in this installment. The premise is shotty, the characters one-dimensional, and poor Pinhead, reduced to doing one-liners in rather cheezy make-up (the pins wiggle when he talks). And the new monsters are more comical than anything. It's no wonder Clive doesn't do anymore movies in which he doesn't write and direct.

Review: This CD is quite different from the two previous Hellraiser soundtracks. The first two were pure horror music, dark, slow, imposing this one is like a combination of horror with action music. It is not quite as good as parts 1 and 2, but it has some great moments (such as Gothic Rebirth, Mind Invasion, The Devil's mass) and is highly recommended to fans of dark film music.
