Summary: do you like horror movies?
Review: this one is a doozie. its rich with the spirit of horror. the first TCM is of course untouchable.. that's why this one doesn't even try to top it. i don't understand all these people talking about how its too gory. they must not like horror. if your idea of horror is The Exorcist and The Others, you may want to skip this one. if you like Re-Animator or Dead Alive.. or if you felt compelled in the 80s to see all the Friday the 13th and Nightmare flicks, no matter how bad you knew they were going to be, you'll get something out of this twisted little cracker jack of a flick.

Summary: TIGHT sequel !
Review: I did expect this to be kinda like the original ''Texas Chainsaw Massacre'' but I was a bit dissapointed ! The movie starts off good and scary but later goes downhill a little . This one had the MOST terrible acting I have ever seen at some scenes, but hey all other ''B'' rated horror films are like that(including: The ''Scream'' trilogy, ''Halloween'', and ''Jack Frost 2'' .)Overall, I think it was still a nicely done sequel with 'Leatherface and the gang ! However, it does lack being scary . I think this is supposed to be a satire-like film . It had more action than horror !! Sheriff ''Lefty'' Enright uses some of the coolest chainsaws to ...

Summary: D-BOMBEST DIDOSIAN FILM EVER (DIDOSIAN) MEANS COOL!
Review: THIS MOVIE STARS CAROLINE WILLIAMS, DENNIS HOPPER (FROM SPEED) AND THE CLASSIC LEATHERFACE. THIS MOVIE HAS LOTS OF CHASINGS AND THE PART WERE THE HITCH-HIKER CHASES HER IS SO COOL. THERE IS ONLY LIKE 1 SURVIVOR IN THE MOVIE, I THINK. I JUST GOT IT ON DVD AND THERE IS A COOL TRAILER AND YOU CAN PUT SUBTITLES AND IT HAS WIDESCREEN FORMAT. IT IS KINDA GORY AT ONE OR 2 PARTS, BUT THAT'S IT AND THE BIG CHASING REALLY IS BIG! WELL, IT'S MORE OF A BATTLE WITH CHAINSAWS AND STUFF, SEE IT...IF YOU DARE!P.S. THIS MOVIE IS SO FUNNY! THE JOKES WILL CRACK U UP! SEE IT NOW!

Review: I'm not going to waste my time with some extended review for this steaming pile. The other 1-star reviews here have summed it up nicely. Heed their warnings. This looks like something Hooper and Hopper cooked up over a spoon of heroin. Not even "funny" bad. Just bad. One can only hope this fades into obscurity and the original remains.

Summary: Leatherface Returns For More Meat!
Review: I use to not like this little diddy, but now I love it as apart of great '80s horror! That was the decade for horror, the best one since the '40s. I just hope it's not another 40 years before we get another great horror era. Anyway, Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 stands for everything horror meant in this wonderful era. Tons of gore, and tons of fun! This film is livelier than the previous entry, and actually marginally better in several ways.
Get out an extension cord and get your t.v. out to a shed and watch all four Chainsaw movies and you'll have more fun than you think you deserve. Don't forgot the chips n' dip and beer/soda.

Anyway, Leatherface and family are back (including The Hitchhiker as a rotted corpse with obvious tire marks) to haunt a DJ and Dennis Hopper comes to the rescue, to also claim vengeance against the Sawyer family for his nephew (Franklin from Chainsaw Massacre 1). Of course we all know Tobey Hooper returned to direct this sequel, and gave it a glossier gore column than before, even though the original film is still looked at as a heavy gore film. Bill Moseley is here as Chop-Top, a Vietnam vet with a steel plate and a Sonny Bono wig. He's a show-stealer with wonderfully funny dialogue. Leatherface's rage continues!!
BUUUUZZZZZZZZ!!!

Summary: As much of a classic as the original
Review: Ok, it's not as great as the original but it's pretty damn good anyway. I love all the charectors in this movie. All of them were good actors and Stretch could really scream. The film concludes with the girl on a mountain top yelling and screaming with a chainsaw over her head. Very much like the ending to the first one. This film contains many humorous moments as well as some very bloody special effects. If you ever see any of the Texas Chainsaw Massacure sequals, this is the only one you will ever really need to see.

Summary: All 80's horror movie fans should get this one.
Review: Being an 80's horror movie fan I absolutely loved this movie. It had everything I look for in a horror movie. Extreme gore, dumb humor, etc... Only bad thing was that I bought the DVD from Amazon and the website says that the DVD is unrated. I was suprised when I got it and it is rated "R". They need to change that. It is misleading! It was definitely the best of the Texas Chainsaw movies. Buy this one today.

Summary: Bah It's alright...
Review: I picked up this DVD I think 2 weeks after I saw the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre for the first time. This was the first time I have seen this movie and I thought it was ok. The DVD is kinda goofy cause it doesn't have a good transfer, and the picture looks bad and grainy. The only extra is a... Trailor which picture is worse than the movie. The movie itself I found was fun but kinda goofy. The ending where Leatherface gets killed by a grenade is wack.... The DJ chick is annoying too. I'd buy this DVD if you got a couple bucks to spend.

Summary: Thanks for cooking this one up . . .
Review: Forget all of the negative review this movie has gotten over the years, Tobe Hoopers outlandish sequel to his landmark debut is a non-stop sick joke from the first frame to the last. When I first saw this movie way back in 1990, I wasn't prepared for what turned out to be the funniest and goriest movie I had seen in a long time. Now, on DVD (a long 11 years later, and an even longer 15 years since it was actually made) I can now actually own the film in the widescreen format (just think, this movie has never been released in the UK until now!).

The story is easy. Two annoying yuppies are butchered by the demented Leatherface on a deserted highway. Unknown to him, their murders are heard by a local radio station that the yuppies are calling at the time of the attacks. Now, the cannibal clan (led by the excellent and only returning TCM cast member Jim Siedow) have to stop the radio station getting this news out. But get the news out they do, and Dennis Hopper (in full-on loony mode) enters the picture as the uncle of one of the victims from the first picture. Teaming up with the Radio stations' DJ (played by the spunky and talented actress Caroline Williams), they both enter the clans lair for a blood drenched finale which features dueling chainsaw's that has to be seen to be believed! Hoopers direction is wild and kinetic, and one feels how studio execs must have felt when he presented them with his first cut. The cast are uniformally good throughout, a minor quibble has Dennis Hoppers character almost disappear halfway through, only to re-emerge as the hero towards the insane finale. The screenplay by L.M. Kit Carson (didn't he write upmarket flicks like PARIS, TEXAS?) is ludricrous and manic in equal measure, and presents the audience with extreme characters from both sides of the human pysche and funny dialogue that fits right in with this insane world that director Tobe Hooper first created.

The disc itself is frankly a wasted opportunity. The movie itself is fine, with a crisp transfer highlighting the excellent cinematography that incorporates sharp red and purple hues. A trailer for the sequel is included, but where are the deleted scenes? Make-up effects designer Tom Savini speaks in many interviews how Cannon Pictures excised an enormous amount of gore footage from the picture to get the R Rating in 1986. Now, why haven't MGM released this DVD unrated with all of the scenes inserted back in? A directors cut of this film would be greatly appreciated. Also, where is Hoopers' commentary track? He does one for TCM 1, why not for this picture? His ideas, aims and retrospective thoughts on this film would be great to hear. Oh yeah, maybe a documentary wouldn't have gone amiss either. All in all a great film which is appreciated on the digital format, but so much more could have been added. I'm still giving the disc five stars as I love the movie, but please MGM, treat your horror releases like your other excellent DVD releases (the Bond 007 special editions are faultless), pack them to the hilt with extras and give tthe audience a chance to see the movie how it was meant to be seen. After all, these movies have been cut to incomprehension for years, maybe it's time to give them a new life on the digital format . . .
