Summary: Not great but Enjoyable.
Review: This is the followup to the 1974 Horror classic, it's about the family of Cannibals being hunted down for 13 years, now in 1986, Leatherface and his family are still on the look for fresh Bloody Meat extra-rare and they kidnap a Radio Jock and use her for Lunch, now a mad Sheriff ( Dennis Hopper) has plans on taking down those Flesh-Eaters.

A fun and enjoyable sequel that includes graphic Gore effects by Tom Savini and Leatherface action including flesh eating and skinnings. The director of the first one directs this one, but this is not for the faint of heart cause back in 1986, it was slapped with an "X" rating and their should be a special edition DVD with the missing scenes.

Similar movies recommended: Texas Chainsaw Massacre, The Toxic Avenger, Day of the Dead, Re-Animator, City of the Living Dead, From Dusk Till Dawn, Scream, Urban Legend, The Beyond, and Reservoir Dogs.

Summary: Most watchable of "Chainsaw" sequels worth it for finale.
Review: When someone says that TCM 2 is the most watchable of the "Chainsaw" sequels, it isn't saying much, with three sub-par follow-ups to Tobe Hooper's awesome classic. But this one, which features Hooper returning as director and a script by L.M. Carson, is made watchable by a 30-minute surrealistic finale in the Sawyer family's subterrainian cave system. The first hour-plus or so, however, is bizarre but decidedly dull in covering the story of wacked-out Dennis Hopper, over-acting his role as usual, as a cop out to get the cannibal clan, and a radio DJ with clues to their whereabouts.
The movie is a grand disappointment, played all the way for pretentious black humor, including a lame Leatherface love-interest sub-plot, but the over-blown climax makes it worth it. Gotta love Officer Hopper sporting mini-'saws like revolvers on his hips and that final chainsaw battle!

Summary: "The saw.....The saw is FAMILY...."
Review: "Dog will hunt! Dog will hunt!" So sayeth "Chop-Top", my new favorite horror movie character, who seems to have perfected his Jim Carrey impersonation years before anyone even knew who Jim Carrey was.

Chainsaw 2 introduces us to "Lefty" Enright (Dennis Hopper, described perfectly on the box as "Whacked-Out"), an obsessed texas Ranger seeking the infamous Leatherface and company. Seems the brother & sister from the original were his niece and nephew....Lefty ain't too bright, as we see from his harebrained scheme to corral the massacre bunch- He uses DJ "Stretch" (Caroline Williams) as bait: She has an audio tape of their most recent murder, and he convinces her to play it on the air every hour. He knows they'll come after her.....too bad he's not around when they arrive.....The cook (Jim Siedow) from the original is back- This time he's out of the roadside BBQ shack, and mobile, as the owner/chef of the "Last Roundup Rolling Grill", maker of award-winning Chili (YUM!). The secret is in the meat. (Siedow is marvelous! Make sure you keep the volume up, so you don't miss any of his background "Rantings" at the end- He's a hoot! My copy of the DVD has his name blacked out of the credits on the insert in the box... The film moves quickly, so quickly that after Hopper and Williams arrive at "Texas Battle Land" for the final showdown with Leatherface and co. with about an hour left, I wondered what the hell could possibly fill that much time. Don't worry, director Tobe Hooper still has a lot left to show us. The last hour is so over-the-top that it defies description- Just the sight of a three-chainsaw weilding Hopper singing "Ringing in the Sheaves", accompanied by Chop-Top, is worth the purchase price.

Hopper brings his usual manic intensity to the part, and as I said earlier, Drayton "Chef" Sawyer and Chop-Top are great. Caroline Williams fils out the T&A/Scream Queen role well, and even gets to do a nice Homage to Chainsaw 1 at the end. Director Hooper wisely doesn't try to recapture the "You are there" documentary feel of the original, so the movie feels much slicker and more polished. The screenplay by L.M. Kit Carson is so full of holes that you might think Leatherface took his 'Saw to it, but I had so much fun that I can't complain. There are a few good scares (Of the "Made you jump!" variety), and Grandpa even puts in an appearance. Carson does manage to keep the mythology of the family viable and chilling- They really were raised with the "Meat" as a way of life.

The disc is pretty skimpy- Widescreen and Pan and Scan on opposite sides of the disc, Subtitles in French and Spanish (No English!), and a Theatrical trailer. If you're looking for extras, you'd be better off with the DVD of the original Chainsaw. It's packed!

Overall, Chainsaw 2 is a hoot! And always remember- "The small businessman always gets it in the END!" Great job, guys!

Summary: The Best Horror Film I've Ever Seen
Review: If you want your flesh to crawl, your peaceful nights to become "sleepless", and your taste for horror flicks to reach a new plateau, invest in "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2". When I envision the DVD box cover with Dennis Hopper holding a chainsaw and donning a 10-gallon hat, it brings chills to my spine. I am 53 years old and was raised on horror flicks. In my half-century of existence I can only compare this classic with such milestones as "The Exorcist", "Silence of the Lambs" and Romero's classic, "The Night of the Living Dead". Dennis Hopper is the equivalent to Anthony Hopkins in "Silence of the Lambs", or Jack Nicholson in "The Shining". But don't take away the eery performance of Jim Siedow as Drayton Sawyer. If you ever want to have your flesh crawl, wake up one night with the thought of Drayton standing over your bed. Horror fans...place this on your list and add it to your library. Once you've watched this flick it will have set a new standard that you hope will never be set again. It is graphic, horrific and TERRIFIC!

Summary: FUN MOVIE IN LOTS OF WAYS
Review: I am so picky about horror movies, giving a scary movie more then 2 stars is rare for me. but lets talk about this DVD. I bought it at suncoast video store in the mall for 14.99-was it worth it? Yes. the picture quality is better then the vhs version that i rented before i bought this one, but it is not that great. the widescreen version on side 2 of the dvd seems to have a little bit better quality visually then the pan and scan. the picture quality is overall the same as the VHS so the pic quality gets 3 out of 5 stars. sound gets 4 out of 5. the movie was pretty good. it was entertaining, fun, not way too bloody, crazy and kinda funny! the chainsaw duo at the end rocks! i give the movie itself 3 stars. the only extras other then widescreen format were a theatrical trailer and captions in like 3 different languages. this movie is not rated in canada and rated R here, yes, that is just how not for kids this movie is. this is not as scary as part 1 but it is better in other ways. i didnt love it the first time i saw it, but if you see it again with friends and see the other sequels and get involved you will like it more. RECOMMENDED BY ME? YES.

Summary: I allways get it in the end.
Review: i've been a huge fan of the TCM series ever since I first saw the original, when I was like 10. In this first sequel we get to meet Lefty Enright, uncle of the kids attacked and tortured by the cannabalistic family. Lefty has made it his lifes goal to avenge his family name. When he finally tracks the killers to a small town in north Texas, all hell breaks loose. This film is chocked full of gruesome scenes, i.e. hammers to the head, face carving, self mutilation, helping hand hemroid removal, and a chainsaw battle that could never be riveld.
Fans of Primus will notice the familiar "Dog will hunt" quote from Tommy the CAt, its good to see Les is a fan of sick films. If you enjoy this film, I do recommend the other sequels. Yes even the one with Renee Zelweger and Mathew McConahaughy or however you spell his name.

Summary: What the Hell was Dennis Hopper thinking?????????
Review: Good actors have, at times, made bad films. It just happens. However I can't think of a worse film with a good actor in it than this one. The stupid story is about the Leatherface family of misfits who now are killing people and winning chilli contests with there special meat. Hopper plays Lieutenant 'Lefty' Enright who is going after the clan to fight chainsaw to chainsaw. Caroline Williams lays the disc jockey Vantia 'Stretch' Block who gets mixed up in the perversion when Leatherface's brother Chop Top and Leatherface break into the radio station. The original Texas Chainsaw Massacre was a scary and frightening film that was inspired by the disturbed Ed Gein (Psycho and Silence Of The Lambs were also inspired by this nut job)and had a real sense of fear and terror in it. The sequel on the other hand is just plain bad. Director Tobe Hooper ( The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Poltergiset, and Salem's Lot) misses the mark so badly in this film that it's hard to understand just what he was trying to do with this film. It's too bad becouse Hooper has made some really good horror movies this is just not one of them. Hopper on the other hand I heard said this was the most he was ever paid for a movie up until that time. After watching this movie you feel that however much it was it was nowere near enough.....

Summary: This Film [stinks]- Big Time!!
Review: I originally bought this because a) it was not available in the UK at the time and b) because the DVD was cheap. I still wish I had not bothered. This film is dire. For one thing it is not half as violent as I was expecting it to be, and lets face it, without the violence this film has little to recommend it. I thought the first movie was overrated, but Tobe Hooper has come no where near as close to making a decent movie since. Half the scenes appear to be direct rip-offs from the first film, the 'humour' is terrible and the prescence of Dennis Hopper adds little to the film. This will sit on my shelf gathering dust until I can pawn it off onto another person with a multi-region DVD player.

Summary: Highly underrated, a very enjoyable movie!
Review: This sequel has more gore, more fun, a bigger budget and some very nice sets (the underground set in particular is magnificent, one of the best I've seen in a horror movie). It is a totally different style of movie than the first, so be prepared. The psycho family from hell is back, and just as entertaining although not as brutal (with the exception of the first scene, lol). There are some funny and gross scenes, well I don't wanna give it all away just go and rent (or buy) this flick, make a pizza, turn down the lights, and have a good time. This would make a great movie for a double feature with say, Return of the Living Dead, Dead Alive, or Re-Animator this would make for a really fun night.

Summary: Why make a sequal to something that sucked to begin with
Review: If it wasn't for the fact that Dennis Hopper was in this and did his role well this would of gotten less. For christ sake can a slasher film get any more dull.
The movie starts off 14 years after the first (and the theatrical release was 12 years later). The whole idea is that Dennis Hopper wants to get revenge for what happened to his nephew Frankie (The wheel chair kid in the first) and hid neice (Who was committed). That wouldn't be enough though so they throw in some punk kids who call a radio DJ on a cell phone and then get killed by LEather Face. She takes the tape to Hopper who then asks for her to play the tape on her station and lure them out.... The question is how one specific member of his clan survive, the brother. If I recall he was ran over several times by a semi in the first, he should be dead.
This movie is just a waste of time, don't bother checking into it.
