Summary: The son of Peter reviews TCM 2. "Dog Will Hunt !"
Review: This movie is everything the first one wasn't.With more laughs and wacky amounts of gore this is better than Evil dead 2! With a rich story line (for a horror movie). And best of all the wierd cannibal family are back! Excellent performances from DJ "Streach" (Caroline Williams) as the screaming heroine. And "Lefty" Enright (Dennis Hopper) the Triple chainsawed hero with an equal love for the buzz. "Leatherface" (Bill Johnson) plays a sexually frustrated maniac. While "Chop Top" (Bill Moseley) plays a mad hippie.(Grampa & Cook-Draytor sawyer) are also back from TCM. This is a stylish remake of the first movie which is also following from the original. Much (again!) like Evil Dead 2.Although in this movie you find yourself feeling sorry for leatherface as he portrayed as simple. Harmless one minute towards "Strech" then mad and sometimes down-right funny. Remember folks this is a black comedy and other elments go with it.The final battle of the saws is shocking, also the final moments with "streach" spining the-close-to-the-orignal-chainsaw above her head is a brill omache tovthe end of TCM. Gore & Humour rule in this sequel.Remember folks "DOG WILL HUNT!" ...

Summary: "Don't cry, my brother..."
Review: If you're looking for a movie about the human spirit, or a movie that can change the world... then find something else. If you're looking for a brutal and disturbing slasher flick that's both ridiculous and cheesy (but is still a good time), then "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2" is the perfect thing for you. From the original source behind "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre," Tobe Hooper brings forth a disgusting and sometimes humorous sequel that will make you feel guilty for enjoying it.

Dennis Hopper plays a Texas Ranger, Lefty, who's bent on revenge and wants compensation in blood for the murder of his brother's children (from the original movie). A radio DJ may be his only hope of getting the murderers responsible, as she claims to have a tape of one of the murders taking place. The tape happened when a couple of goofballs decided to call her show, only to end up running into a chainsaw murderer and ending up dead. Lefty advises her to play the tape on air to draw the killer or killers out... the only problem is that the cannibalistic family has a record of "taking care" of witnesses in their own way. The results all lead up to a terribly disturbing and disgusting slasher flick that you won't forget (even if you want to).

Now, the movie is enjoyable if you take these few things under consideration: 1) This movie was not made with hopes of making it on the AFI list of Greatest Movies one day. 2) It doesn't live up to the original, so don't even think of setting your expectations that high. 3) This is a ridiculous and sometimes cheesy movie that its only purpose is really to shock, disgust, and perhaps even get a rise out of you. If you take all of these things into account, the chances of you enjoying this movie will increase.

What really makes the movie work is Dennis Hopper. He is usually a joy to watch in any movie, and this one is no exception. I don't know if the movie would be that great had he not been in it, as he really takes his character to the limit (and has fun in the process). The sequel is much more disgusting and violent than the original, but isn't really as shocking. Still, it is a pretty enjoyable flick if you're in the right mood and take it for what it is.

The DVD doesn't have a whole lot to offer, although I don't think a lot of special features are needed for a movie like this. The picture and sound quality is decent, but you really don't want a "great looking" picture with a movie like this. It adds the raw feeling to it better when the picture looks grainy and imperfect. The DVD offers both widescreen and standard versions of the movie. The only special feature that's included is the theatrical trailer for the movie (which isn't all that great).

All in all, "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2" is a great time if you know what you are getting yourself into and you know what to expect. Again, this is not "Citizen Kane" we're talking about; this is a stupid and goofy slasher flick that's only aim is some kind of entertainment. And, I happen to think that it achieves that, at least in my eyes. If you're looking for a goofy and disturbing slasher flick, this may be the one for you.

Summary: The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2
Review: This movie was cool, now that I know more about the actual history behind this. I liked the 1st and 2nd movie the best, the newest one is just plain sick and stupid, it really had nothing to do with the 1st and 2nd and anyhow who the heck thought of making this stupid one anyhow! It takes away from the 1st 2 and it's just another stupid gory movie that makes no sense anyways. The truth is there never was a chainsaw massacre. (...) I would have enjoyed seeing something with more truth than lie, not that I enjoy things of the macabre but just because if your gonna tell a story at list give us as much truth as possible! Please!

Summary: Goofy sequel sticks to your ribs
Review: This sequel could not be more different from the original. It is cheesy, gory, self-aware exploitation that pushes the right buttons. It is not scary, but it is thoroughly entertaining. The violence is cartoonish and completely over-the-top. In one scene, the sometimes subverted theme of sexual violence in slasher films is taken to comical extremes when Leatherface actually pantomimes sexual intercourse with the film's heroin using his chainsaw to represent his "special purpose." Obvious, perhaps, but funny regardless. Nothing is taken seriously, almost as though Hooper decided to mock his first film.

The older brother from the first film is back. He now owns an award-winning chili franchise. "What's the secret?" he is asked by a reporter at the anual chili contest. "Never skimp on the meat," he replies, fiendishly. Yes, it's human meat, supplied by his two younger brothers, Choptop and Leatherface. Choptop, whose character is obviously modeled on the hitch-hiker (middle brother) from the first film, is a Vietnam Vet turned hippie turned Manson family reject. Leatherface is basically the same pea-brained psychopath, but now he gets to display his romantic side.

Dennis Hopper plays the tough-talking Marshal, Lefty, who's single goal in life is to avenge the killing of his brother and his brother's family. He gives us an absolutely ridiculous performance that fits this absolutely ridiculous movie.

It's a well-made film, but, although there was more money, there was not the distinctive vision of the original. However, if you like movies like Dead Alive and Evil Dead II, then you should appreciate where this movie is coming from.

PS: This is the last movie in the series that is worth watching, besides the surprisingly good remake that came out recently.

Summary: Scary, Funny and Sad
Review: Dennis Hopper stars in the greatest sequel in the series. Out to avenge the murder of his brothers kids, Lefty has tracked down our hero Leatherface and his wacked out family to a rundown amusement park. A DJ,stretch, has Leatherface and chop-top on tape killing a couple of punks and plays it on air for Lefty to help flush them out of hiding. Tom savini's gore effects are excellent, as usual, and this could be the last great film director Tobe Hooper has ever done. Bill Mosley, Bill Johnson and Dennis Hopper deliver top notch performances. The DVD is nice to have but is not 16x9 as listed, again MGM has dropped the ball on a great genre title and should re-visit this movie with a mack daddy special edition.

Summary: Not as good as the first, but still pretty awesome
Review: This movie was not as good as the first (obviously) but was still good. It had the same proporsions as the first. The gore was great and so was the plot. A sherriff (Dennis Hopper) goes after Leatherface and his family for killing his own, and faces unbelieveable horror.

After seeing this movie a felt that it was worthy of the title THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE 2. This is a movie definatly worth buying on DVD. If you are a fann of the first movie, this is definatly a movie for you.

Summary: The Texas Chainsaw Massacare is BACK!!!!!
Review: I have not seen the first film(It looks better than this) or Leatherface:Texas Chainsaw Massacare 3 but I did see this film and it was GREAT! It's about a man named Lefty, who's looking for
a murderer and canibal named "LeatherFace". This Leatherface were's a mask made out of human fleash and has not been heard of for almose 15 years, when he last killed some people. Lefty gets true evadence that Leatherface is still alive when he comes and kills a man. Lefty also finds out about his family who are also canibles. The kill sences in this are great(lots of blood and gore if thats what your looking for). Now that I have seen this I really want to see the first and third film!(Not the fourth film, that looks bad)

Review: This movie is an OK sequal. I liked the 1st better. This one goes kind of slow.

Summary: This is possibly better than it's prequel!
Review: The cannibalistic family is back, and they are much more terrifying. The original was great, but this is one of the coolest horror films of all time in my opinion. Leatherface is much stranger than the first one, and he has a stranger looking mask. The "hideout or underground lair" that the family lives in is like a sewer in ways, like...it is nasty, it has many trick exits, lots of hidden passage-ways, and...it is underground! The plot is weird, and I will tell you about it, without spoilers, right now: Two guys get "chainsawed" and a radio DJ hears it and she goes to a detective and he don't seem to care and then he does seem to care and she follows "the family" and gets trapped in their underground freakshow. It's been a-while since I saw it, and I might have made a mistake...forgive me if I did. I know that sounds a little boring, but there is a lot of action and good violence to count on, like the chainsaw sword might at the climax and the truck chase at the beginning. Those are just two of the many action packed scenes in the movie. So... go somewhere, get this, go home, lay back, kick on the movie, and watch it, you might like it.
