Rating: Summary: THE FINAL CHAPTER!!!! Review: In my opinion, "Friday The 13th: The Final Chapter" is the best movie in the series. In this one, Jason is the killer and he has his hockey mask for almost all of the movie (except the end, where his face is revealed!). In Part 3, he got his mask late into the movie. Also, it has the best cast of all the movies. It includes Corey Feldman and Crispin Glover. The cast seems more like real people unlike the biker gangs and one-dimensional teens of other movies. Sure, they still feature teenagers who joke about & have sex, but it isn't as prominent. In this one, there are 13 murders! Some of them include having your throat sawed and your head twisted back, axe in chest, a head being crushed against a shower wall, being attacked through a window and thrown out, etc. Make-up artist Tom Savini did an awesome job on making everything look shockingly gory & realistic. The end chase is the best of the series, featuring a heroine who is actually tough! Jason finally gets his, a literal dismemberment by the hands of Tommy Jarvis (Corey Feldman). Thought it may have a few minor flaws, this is the best F13 movie you can get. I highly recommend this and the original, "Friday The 13th".
Rating: Summary: Last Good Movie in the Series Review: I thought this movie rocked. I loved the story, and I think it's the last good movie in the series. This movie introduced me to Corey Feldman. This is definetly one of the best in the series. The first 4 were the only good ones.
Rating: Summary: Teddy, where the he[[ is the corkscrew?!?!? Review: This is certainly one of the better Friday the 13th entries. My favorite is Part 3, and this one has a lot in common with Part 3 because it shares the same theme of a bunch of partyers and friends being slaughtered by Jason instead of camp counsellors. The same theme is going on, the teenagers that sin in some way or another( sex is always a sin in these slasher movies )and the virgin and the good boy are always the ones that have the best shot at surviving. It almost works as a sort of sick therapy for teens, that if they do drugs have sex and all that other stuff they do then their fate will be death. And none of the survivors are fortunate in Friday movies, because after they murder Jason and completly lose their sanity, in a sense they are worse off than the victims. Oh, and on another note, this entry is also one of the funniest. The dead ... and the "computer" dialouge parts but the funniest is without a doubt when the guy goes, "Teddy where the hell is the corkscrew"? I won't give away what happens after that but I will just say that it is absolutely classic. I recommend this entry any day( preferably night )of the week.
Rating: Summary: The Final Chapter? Ha! Review: This is one of the worst of the lot, oddly right after one of the best. It's still not as bad as Part V, but that's another story (Yeah right!). Anyway, Jason escapes from the hospital morgue and treks back to Camp Crystal Lake to kill off more teens. The rest is all too familiar. Avoid this one.
Rating: Summary: the final chapter is not the final Friday the 13th Review: Finally the Final Chapter has been released on DVD in Australia and I just bought a copy. It has only one extra feature on this disc and that is the theatrical trailer. Unfortunately there is nothing about the making of this film but maybe a documentary wasn't made in 1984 about it before it was released. The disc I have has the standard format option which I am grateful for as I don't like the bars even if I am supposed to be getting more. I love the cast in this movie the best out of all the Friday the 13ths. I like Barbara Howard as Sara, Judie Aronson as Samantha, Kimberley Beck (who I think was in Massacre at Central High) as Trish, Peter Barton as Doug(who was after Jason because his sister Sandra had been murdered by Jason), E.Erich Anderson as Rob who I think used to be in a tv series the Powers of Mathew Starr, Alan Hayes as Paul. Lawrence Monoson also starred in this movie and he had previously starred in Last American Virgin. Crispin Glover was in this film too and he went on to star in Back to the Future. This is the only Friday the 13th movie where it seems to have a cast of at least a couple of known actors who had starred in at least one movie before hand and had gone on to star in other movies. With the previous Friday movies and the ones after this fourth installment, I never again saw any of the actors and actresses in other movies or on television series. A couple of things I am wondering about in this film. One is where Samantha gets murdered on the boat and the killer comes up from beneath the water and knifes her through the stomach and the weapon comes out her back. Later Paul comes looking for her and the boat doesn't look like it is covered in water or partially submerged which it should be after the knife pierced the boat. The other thing that makes me wonder is when Jason is taken to the morgue and they don't even remove his mask. This movie is probably the goriest out of all the films and before I said in a review that Friday Part 3 was the best one but now I am not so sure. Maybe this one is better. If it's not, it's just as good. There are thirteen murders in this one-in the previous twelve. The cast is better as I said and not just because they are known. And the twins in this are definitely identical because I can usually tell twins apart, one is taller than the other or the facial features look a little different. But not with them.
Rating: Summary: It Would Be A Dead F**ck Thing To Do To Not See This Movie! Review: Okay, I'm a HUGE horror buff and I say horror films can't get any better then this. True, most people say that 'Halloween' is the best horror film, but I have to disagree. For one thing, 'Halloween' didn't have enough gore, nudity and well developed characters. Any, back to my review. FT13 P4 takes place exactly where the last one left off. Jason escapes from the morgue and goes back home. Then some teens come by to party and sure enough, there will be blood tonight. I actually felt sorry for some of the characters that were killed off. Like Jim for instance. All he wanted was to have sex, not to die. And Ted, he was just very cool and fun to watch. Same with the two girls, Sarah and Samantha. They were VERY hot and shouldn't have been killed off. Same with the twins, Tina and Terri. But, Friday the 13th wouldn't be a horror movie without death. At the end of the movie, Tommy and his sister Trish 'deaft' Jason by machete to the head. Sure enough, Jason lives and Tommy grabs the machete and hacks Jason to pieces. Tom Savini really let lose here with the gore. Hacksaw to neck, cleaver to face, speargun in balls, knifed through raft ect. ect. Anyway, THIS is how horror is supposed to be like. Don't rent it, buy it! If you don't buy it, Jason will be coming! For you!
Rating: Summary: "Pretty good, yet not the best..." Review: This was a cool Jason movie, and it's finally the hockey-masked Jason actually slashing in the woods of Camp Crystal Lake. The movie is, like always, about Jason chasing teenagers who STILL are stupid enough to go to Crystal Lake, but the main reason that happens is because everyone thinks Jason is dead until they finally see for themselves that he's not. But, Jason gets something he never expected! Tommy Jarvis, the youngest boy in the family that Jason focusses on in this movie, is an expert in masks and make-up, and knows how to make the most realistic masks any human will ever see, even though he is only 10. The movie starts off like most of them do, there are scenes from the previous movie(s). Some cops and firemen arrive at Crystal Lake and find Jason's (not dead, just phased) body and declare him dead. They stick him in a morgue where he comes back and goes back to Crystal Lake and begins slaughtering teens here and there. The two stars missing are for: (1) We see less of Jason in this one, but only by a teeny bit. (2) He still took off his mask. I really think it would be a lot more suspensful if Jason left his mask on until the VERY FINAL Friday the 13th movie, that way, fans would wonder what the heck is under that mask until he takes it off towards the end of the final movie and reveals his true face. Besides all that, this was yet a good addition (not finale) to the widely-popular "Friday the 13th" series.
Rating: Summary: More story behind the gore Review: Like the old, black and white cliffhanger serials, the first four Friday the 13th movies all began with a review of the general story. This one, the Final Chapter, recapped all three of its predecessors. And it was done with creepy music by the master, Harry Manfredini, and a fireside ghost story from part 2. For the first time, the legend was made real. The townspeople always thought there to be a death curse on Crystal Lake. Twenty years of mysterious fires and poisoned drinking water, plus all those counselors dying in part 1, would have been enough. But then there were the tales of a deformed boy attacking that girl in the lake, and then a weeklong murder spree five years later. 22 people he left butchered, from parts 2 and 3. Jason was the death curse. Instead of dying he got stronger, more invulnerable. This is also the perfect movie to point out a common misconception. Jason doesn't target couples that are just having sex. Those he killed were all in lust, not love. They saw sex with another person as a fun way to pass the time, not as a celebration for companionship and closeness. And it was for that meaningless activity that he died way back in 1957. The curse is in full swing in this film. Jason is powerful enough to squash a guy's skull in the ultimate shower scene. This is the last chapter that you will see him bleed. The next time he comes back, he won't have any open wounds. This one is what I think of as the last in the first Friday the 13th trilogies. With the first part standing alone, parts 2, 3 and 4 are back-to-back and are about a Jason that could still be slowed, if not stopped. It is also the beginning of the second trilogy, the one involving Tommy Jarvis. A little boy here, he grabs a machete and goes to town on our antihero. This prepubescent wonder boy saved his and his sister's lives, but only at the cost of his sanity.
Rating: Summary: Belongs in the trash. Review: This was the second worst Jason movie I've seen next to Jason Goes to Hell. Although the hockey-masked Jason IS in this, it doesn't show him a whole lot and Jason STILL TOOK HIS [freakin] MASK OFF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Rating: Summary: Jason is at his best! Review: I first saw this movie maybe 7 months ago and I wasn't even paying attention to it because, I had no idea that it would continue from where part 3 left off. I decided to talk to my friend the whole time because, I had only seen parts 1, and 7. I knew right away that I wouldn't know what was going on. After so long I picked up all of the Jason movies and have even seen Jason X. Then last night I thought Hey! I hadn't seen Friday The Thirteenth The Final Chapter and I went to my local video rental store and got a hold of this film. I thought that it was an instant classic! It was also a legendary part of the Jason films! Know that I do not own any of the Jason movies but, I will get them if I find any of them on DVD or VHS. I recommend this movie at the highest point on recommendation scale to any Slasher fan even if they are just becoming one! This is a must have for any slasher movie collection!
