Summary: Stanley Runk Hits the Bullseye
Review: Funny, but I tried to post a review of this film on Amazon 2 months ago but it was never posted. I basically echoed all the sentiments of Mr. Runk and more. This is undoubtedly the biggest slap in the face to horror fans, it's like Homer using the Stonecutters sacred document as a bib. The original Texas Chainsaw Massacre will never be matched in terms of authenticity and terror. What I'd really like to see is all the people involved in the making of this film spend a night at the hotel leatherface. These clowns won't get a cent of my money. Buy the original, watch it and worship it...the saw is family, hollywood stars are not.

Review: "View it with an open mind", "Don't judge it before you see it", blah, blah, blah. I've been dealing with this remake blasphemy for too long(Psycho, Planet Of The Apes to name a few in case y'all forgot), and this is just the biggest case of blasphemy yet. I'm not gonna view this with an open mind-In fact, I'm not gonna view it at all. I have seen my share(and about 20 other peoples') of horror films, and seen some rotten remakes of classic horror pictures. I KNOW how this film is going to play out. I can walk you through every shot, line, "scare" and silly plot twist this film will offer. I got it played out in my head, and I guarantee that's what will end up on screen. You do NOT remake classic horror films merely for a quick buck, tarnishing the memory of a great picture some broke kids slaved over to make back in the 70s. You don't do it, you DO NOT do it. "But, some cute girl named Jessica so-and-so is in it!" And? Did the original need star power to become a classic? I'm not going to go into all the technical reasons why this is cinematic toilet paper, but lets just say there's no way to duplicate the grainy/documentary-like/completely insane feel of the original. And who is Marcus Nispel? Why is he qualified to do this? Michael(Armageddon)Bay????????? Why isn't Tobe Hooper suing? I'll tell all you good folks, I'll rent and view every single Olsen Twin video along with Dude, Where's My Car? before I watch this. If God is a fan of the Texas Chainsaw Massacre, I can only hope he destroys all copies of this film in a fire before it's released.

Summary: You cannot repaint the Mona Lisa
Review: And this and the remake of Dawn of the Dead are pure blasphemy. You can't outdo the original Psycho, and the same will probably apply here. Yuck! What are they thinking nowadays?

Summary: texas chainsaw masacre
Review: the movie was excelent. the way marcus nispel put this movie together was phenomonon, it was scary but there wasnt awhole lot of gore to gross people out either. He is a great director. He should make more true story horror movies like this again.

Summary: This movie is no original....and that is a good thing!!!!!!!
Review: First let me say this, I am a HUGE Texas Chainsaw Massacre fan, I have seen the first movie well over 100 times, and love every minute of it, its one of my all time favorite movies,of course. Now I was lucky enough to see an advanced screening of The new Texas Chainsaw Massacre yesterday, and boy did I leave the theater happy. I went in with an open mind, considering I almost never bash a horror movie paying homage to any classic horror movie. But this new Chainsaw is so different than the original, you will have a hard time comparing it to the original, sure the plot is basically the same, but the story it self has so many new twists, it makes it that much more enjoyable, Plus this one has the oh-so sexy Jessica Biel in it, you cant ask for any more (blood, chainsaws, beautiful girls). My advice to hardcore fans of the original, im one of you, and I really enjoyed this new vision of Tobe Hoopers all time classic..Leatherface rules!!!!!!

Summary: Scared the Ever Living Sh*t Out of Me
Review: This movie is ridiculously scary. I haven't seen the original, but they showed the remake in a sneak preview on campus tonight and I nearly cried from fright several times (as did most of the people in the theater). This is the scariest movie I have ever seen and I will probably be haunted by the images for a long, long time. The acting is decent, but the fear is palpable. I'm still pretty shaken up, so this is kind of a terrible review, but I really, really recommend you see it because it is scary scary scary. It's also quite gory, so be warned. Gah. Without a doubt the best horror movie I have ever seen simply because it's the scariest. I would have given it five stars because I've never been that scared in my life, but like I said, the acting isn't top notch or anything. Anyway, see it and scare yourself silly.

Summary: A film that lives up to the original
Review: I just had to let all the naysayers know that it's a great movie. I now take back all the smack I talked about this movie before I even saw it.

Guys do yourself a favor and view this film with an open mind. It's actually one of the best horror films to come out in years. The film is tense, has moments that are visually gruesome, and is filled with scares. For devotees of the original, the story was tweaked so that the events in the film are always unexpected.

Leatherface is a scary dude. He's big, agile, scary, and seems unstopable.

R. Lee Ermey is just great. He has a couple of intense scenes with Jonathan Tucker.

Jessica Biel is on point and is the proper heir apparent to the Scream Queen throne that Jamie Lee Curtis still owns. (Neve Campbell was no Scream Queen compared to Jessica Biel.)

Overall the acting makes you care about the kids and you do not want them to die, a change from the original film where you don't care about the characters at all.

The audience in attendance all cheered and were all creeped out. I hate to write about audience reaction, but since this isn't a full review because I don't want to spoil anything, I guess I can let you know how the film was received. People were actually cheering for the main character to get away. I haven't seen that in years.

The Slaughterhouse showdown towards the end was great and inventive. The chase scenes in the film were tense and edgy.

The film lives up to the effective trailer and the original film. Speaking of the trailer, the Mortal Coil song is not played at all in the film.

Look out for some inventive camera work by Marcus Nispel during a death scene toward the begining. He also has a flair for filming scenes and making them suspenseful.

The bottom line, give it a chance you guys. It's so good that I am going to see it again when it comes out. It's worth it and we need to support horror films. Especially ones that are so well made like this movie.

Summary: My Apologies
Review: I want to apologize in advance to anyone who likes horror but still manages to dislike the product that is being brought forth these days. It seems like none of the horror film makers can win with most people these days, they make an original movie and somehow somebody finds a way that it rips off an old one, someone makes a remake and immediately it sucks. I got the chance to see this film and was pleased with it, sure it is not as good as the original and never could be but I went in with the attitude that I am not going to compare it to the original or else I will have a bad opinion of it. Watch it for what it is and not what it can eb compared to. Oh by the way to the person wondering what song is in the trailer....I am not sure what song it is but I know the entire musical score for the film was done by Marilyn Manson.

Summary: Give me a break people
Review: What is it with people, and remakes. I will say that is true that not all remakes are even worth watching, but now and again there comes a few that are pretty good, and rarely there comes one that is even better than the original. Red Dragon was far better than its original movie titiled Man Hunter, so maybe this one wont be so bad. In other words dont wine, and complain about something that has never been viewed. I mean I doudt it will be as bad as some of the horribal sequals to the original, witch were just stupid, and took the dignity from Leather Face. This one looks like the same story with some changes, but come one admit it from the previews it does not look as if it will be a peace of crap like some of you are already anticipating.
