Summary: Good as the original? Not quite
Review: This would be an ok movie for someone who isn't a big horror fan, just someone who watches movies every now and then as I do have a few friends that liked it but for this to be a remake it really didn't follow the same storyline which I felt it should have, and I do agree that the hollywood effect seems to take it down a notch as opposed to the european feel to a movie. Probably the biggest thing that stuck out in this movie to me was how smart leatherface and how coordinated he was, he was fast, and in the original we all know leatherface is a big fat uncoordinated slob (not that there is anything wrong with that) im actuallya huge fan of the original but just didn't care too much for this one

Summary: The UNscariest movie that I've ever waisted my time on.
Review: I've been surprised at the response that this movie has got. One of the few movies I have seen in a while that brings in packed crowds that almost line up around the theatre to see. What strikes me as odd, is that people think this movie is BASED on a true story. Hahahaha, I can't believe people are so gullible. Supposedly, it was Ed Gein that inspired the leather mask that was worn by the murderer in the movie. Ed Gein, stole dead bodies from a local graveyard and would mutilate them...he would turn the bodies into furniture and crude masks'. He killed one lady, with a 22 caliber pistol. This is not merely enough to even authenticate him as a serial killer. The director/writer came up with the idea for having the killer use a chainsaw as he walked down an aisle of a Montgomery Wards and glanced upon a chainsaw. As for the killings, none of them ever happened, and I dont know if Ed Gein's himself had ever been to Texas. Like another reviewer wrongfully said, they did not show the house in which the murders happened. The movie itself is disappointing. I think the killer should have attempted to take a "stab" as an olympic sprinter. He can outrun every single character no matter how far of a lead the victim might have on him. Not only can he do that, but he can do it while whielding a 20-50 pound chainsaw! And he can also outrun them after he cuts his leg up, and operate the chainsaw after cutting off his arm! This movie is soooo real! The only reason I gave this movie two stars is because Jessica Biel is so unbelievably hot.

Summary: Bad movie
Review: Firstly, let's clear this up. The movie is based LOOSELY on Ed Gein who was from WISCONSIN he only killed TWO women and YES Silence of the Lambs, PSYCHO and Texas chainsaw massacre are based LOOSELY on his life. For all of the people over twenty, do not see this movie. It is a waste of your life. I will refer you to roger ebert's review.

Summary: Vile!
Review: Basically all you have to do is look at the cast and you realize what a joke this film is. This film is a waste of your time and money. Wait for it to come out on video

Summary: Best Horror Flick Ever!
Review: This movie rules. I read that the critics didn't approve. They're full of it. They obviously don't know a good horror flick when they see one. I don't get scared easily and this movie scared the crap out of me. I was clenching my fists the entire time. A terrific remake of the original.

Summary: Insane
Review: Ok I am not a horror movie enthusiast but I have seen quite a few of them in my lifetime and never has one gotten under my skin the way this one did. My heart was beating at a fast rate the whole time and I had to force myself not to shut my eyes. Leatherface was like the craziest killer of all time and the fact that this is supposedly a true story made it even more intense. If you are into getting freaked out and seriously shakin in ur boots then you should see this. I dunno why people would rate this badly but I had a hell of a time.

Summary: Texas Chainsaw Massacre Breakdown
Review: When I first walked into see this movie, I had my doubts. I am and probably will forever be an avid fan of the original. But, I LOVE THIS MOVIE! This has to be one of the greatest re-tellings of any horror movie ever. It takes place in all of the places you wished you got to see more of in the original. I also might add, that I loved the new ideas used in the TCM remake. I have watched the first one many times, and never felt the way I did whenever I left the new Texas Chainsaw Massacre. The best thing about the remake, is that it really lets you get to know the characters more. When they die in the movie, it's hard for you to comprehend it. It's almost devestating. The crew of this movie did an amazing job on making you feel what the people in the movie were feeling. I give them 2 thumbs up! Great work ya'll. This will ensure TCM in history forever as one of the best Horror idea's ever. 2 thumbs up!

Summary: It is real
Review: Yes this is a true story of something that happened in the 70s. ALthough i dont know all the facts, I know that is is real. They actually filmed the movie a couple of miles from where I live, and they used the exact same house that the massacre took place in .I am in high school and a couple of my friends went to go check out the house already, it is located like 20 miles from Austin. But yes it is real! Write back!

Summary: Disturbing..even for a seasoned Horror veteran
Review: First of all, the children who are giving false information about Ed Gein should be shot. The footage at the begining and end of this film is not real footage from Ed Gein's home. Ed Gein was in Wisconsin. The actual footage from his home can be seen in the movie aptly titled "Ed Gein." There was no Texas Chainsaw Massacre. It was a movie with one character very loosly based on Ed Gein. I highly suggest using your search engine to find a biography before you start spouting off such mindless mis-information. Hell, reading a book might even be a quick remedy.

Now, although I was really looking forward to this movie, I did have my reservations about what "Hollywood" was going to do to this classic franchise. Due to this, I set my expectations fairly low. Due to the un-ending pain in my stomach after seeing the film, I regreat doing this. "Texas Chainsaw Massacre"(2003) is one of, if not the most terrifying Horror film I have seen in my entire life. At the ripe old age of 28 I felt that I had seen it all. After all, I have been watching horror films for about twenty years now. Nothing could have prepared me for what I saw in the theater today. This film not only does justice to the original, it surpasses it. I was noticing that Tobe Hooper has production credits on this film. I guess this explains why it lacks any insulting cheese that is usually so rampant in these "big-budget" Hollywood remakes.

I highly suggest this movie for anyone who is a true lover of Horror and of sane mind. For those of you looking for something a bit more modern, this in no way falls in the "Scream," "I know what you did last summer," or any of the more recent Horror films. Although those films have their place in the genre, they dont even begin to prepare one for what "Texas Chainsaw Massacre"(2003) has to offer.
