Review: One has to admit that the directing in this movie is pretty good. I really enjoyed the gritty cinematography (why it gets ANY stars). I guess the so-so director can't help it if the project has a terrible screenwriter. Wow, this takes everything that was cool from the first film and throws it out the window. We are left with a really stupid and gross remake of a great old horror film. The acting sucked beyond belief. The characters and their costumes were corny (a John Lennon wanna-be? Someone shoot me). Please, no more remakes.

Summary: The first Horror to scare me in years!!!!
Review: I LOVE this movie!! I'm glad I saw this before the original as I thought it was REALLY bad and wouldn't have gone to see this one! Coming out of the cinema I felt I'd been on a rollercoaster ride!! The friends I was with loved it too! One of them started crying at one point, another nearly threw up (thank god he didn't, he was next to me!!). Another couple of friends who had gone to see it a before us had to leave before the end because they were too frightened!! (lightweights!!).

Summary: Texas chainsaw massacre scary but fun to watch!
Review: When I first herd they were making a remake to the texas chainsaw massacre I knew I would be the first in line to see it at the theater. After seeing it I was kinda scared but the first thing that went through my head head was "I HAVE TO HAVE THIS WHEN IT COMES OUT!". So for about two months i waited and waited for a relase date to come out. I found out early december 2003 and every day seince i checked amazon.com almost everyday so I could see when i could pre-order it. Now the day has come and i'm gonna pre-order it a.s.a.p.(I liked it that much!lol!). The movie ran through my head like a song that gets stuck in your head. It might seem wierd but this movie stuck with me and it might, might not stick with whoever else watches it but i think it was a shocking and stunning movie (but it's not for the faint of heart). It's a toatly diffrent movie from the old one but some things are still the same. The 5 kids are diffrent and so is the family.If you thought about seeing it or just wanna watch a good scary movie you should defintly watch it.:)

Review: Okay, I'll admit that I've never seen the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre. But just getting that out of the way allows me to rate this movie at face value. As a horror movie, this film only excels at certain parts. The bloody girl in the car (I won't give it away because it's just too cool), her being so insane and just hinting at all the wierd crazy stuff that's going to happen later on in the movie, well that part was really really scary. And that they had to stay with her in the car after what happened. My gosh. The very opening sequence sort of hinted that this would be more of a frightening movie. What's frightening is the premise: not only is there a chainsaw-wielding psycho in some town in the middle of nowhere, but every single person in the town is equally warped and insane, and they believe his behavior to be purely rational. Now THAT'S creepy. Also frightening are some of the demises of the characters in Leatherface's little shop of horrors, but that's limited. But for when the creepy feeling wears off, I'd suggest having a friend in the theater with you. Not because you'll get bored, but because this is a fun movie to lean back and watch with a buddy. Not a thrill ride, it's manageable and easy enough to understand, and it's not total carnage either. A good mix of all the elements makes this movie not excel at any particular area but simply provide an interesting watch. All in all, fun, a little creepy and warped. Provide about 20 minutes of chatting with a buddy to absorb it all, then go out and get on with your lives!

Review: I have studied film and the film industry for 6 years now and have been a horror fan for the last 25 years, and hold no bias towards either movies and think it is unfair to compare them to eachother. I saw the original TCM nearly 15 years ago and wasn't nearly as frightened as I was told I was going to be. It was a little disturbing, yes, and absolutley groundbreaking and influential for the era it was made in, but it was horribly paced, and contained some of the worst acting, characters and character development I have ever come across (and for a fan of the horror genre that is certainly saying something!) My brother, his girlfriend and I watched the original again a couple of weeks ago and we laughed more than we do in most comedys. A couple of scenes in particular were gold. The shop keeper hitting the poor girl with the broom (Ouch... Please stop), a terrifying close up of a stuffed little dog with equally terrifying music, our heroine running through the window and then straight into a troublesome branch, and one poor sod who repediatley mistakes a honking chicken noise for his girlfriend. The characters are not interesting and we found ourselves actually WANTING characters to die. (We all whooped for joy when the wheelchair guy got it!!) In one scene at the dinnertable we have five characters illegibly arguing and screaming for ten minutes. It is mind numbingly tedious and frustrating. It is a classic horror movie, and I know for a fact that it traumatised my parents back in 1973 but over the years it is no longer shocking, not very scary and the horrible pacing becomes even more prevalent, which has been noted by many fans of the original. Now to the 2003 version. This movie is by no means a great movie, but with a much tighter (albeit still flawed) script, a fine cast, more fleshed out characters, a more involving plot and a fantastic score (the music is unnerving and very tense) it makes the 2003 TCM a FUN and ENJOYABLE and geniuinley SCARY horror movie, which is rare indeed. Some reviewers seem to forget that this is the reason why horror movies are made. Also an overwhelming sense of fear, dread, some genuine shocks and some gruesome imagery (as another reviewer has mentioned, you won't forget the fingernail scene...) all contribute to making this one of the scariest and frightening horror films of the last few years. So there you have it, I still like the original and have recently purchased the DVD it because I think it is a piece of revolutionary flim making, and the 2003 version is a fine horror film that will scare you, unnerve you and make you think twice about going for a walk through the Texan wilderness after you leave the cinema. A fine horror film. Check your pulse when Leatherface shows us his chainsaw for the first time. Boys take your girlfriends to see this one with you.

Review: This movie SUCKS!!! It is so dorky! I was bairly laughing when I got out of the theater! The only ones I liked were the 1st , The Next Generation,and the 2nd.

Review: Ok, to start it off, yes it was a great movie and scared me! Although it's not like the original, which i have seen, it was still good and even though the critics say, " OMG! it wasn't scary at all, I was laughing through the whole thing! BLAH BLAH BLAH! Have some fun u retards! You cannot tell me that u didn't jump at least once! So back to my review.... It was GREAT! Filled with gore though, so not for the weak at heart! It had a good story plot, even though people died every 15 mins....and was filled with surprises and wonderful background music. I bought the soundtack to it and it's great even though, it doesn't have the camera flash noise, but does in the movie. And in the movie they have the orginal "narrators" voice...

Summary: Chop Suey fest
Review: TCM - the remake - was a movie that left most people with at a minimum a lack of hunger. It's a very graphic movie. The best way to describe it is like a car wreck. No matter if you want to turn away, you can't. TCM will draw you in and spit you back out. I loved it, but I didn't want to eat right afterwards. There are some twists and turns which can make you hold on to your seat. The 5 kids are of average acting (what do you expect)... It's the towns people that make this. R. Lee Ermy (Sheriff Hoyt) is great... he plays the character as a twisted Gunnery Sergeant Hartman (Full Metal Jacket). Awesome.
The movie is 'based' on a true story. Many people I have seen have asked where in Texas this actually happened. It didn't. TCM is based on Ed Gein from Wisconsin and didn't kill with a chainsaw but did commit some of the acts Leatherface does.
REMEMBER: There is a lot of upclose gore and not a great story. It is a good scare/chop suey fest though.

Review: i saw this movie in theaters. it wasn't that bad. It pretty much follows the same storyline as the original. I think it's better than the original.Theres a lot more violence. But the only problem is that there isn't very many scary parts. Jessica Beil does great acting. Overall a good movie.

Review: Ok, I absoluetly loved this movie! Ever since I saw it I had to buy the other TCM movies, and have been fascinated with the REAL story. It starts out with a group of 5 teens driving to a concert, when they pick up a bloodied, delusional woman walking in the road. While in their van, the woman blows her head up (this is a VERY gory movie by the way, so if you don't have a strong stomach, don't watch it!) and the teens need to report her death to the police.
They go to the first 'store' and are told that the Sheriff will meet them at an old Mill. When they are there waiting for quite a while, a little boy tells them where the Sheriff lives (but his info is incorrect) and 2 of the 5 go to look for him.
When the girl returns without her boyfriend, and discovers the Sheriff had gotten the body, and her b/f is not there, she and a male friend go back to the house to look for him.
They see 'Leatherface' (aka: Thomas Hewitt) and the girl is able escape and alert the others of the danger that they too, end up facing through-out the rest of the movie. As I said, this is a very gory, violent movie, but a very good one at that. Very worth-while.
