Summary: Halloween defines the word Horror
Review: John Carpenter is among one of the best screenwriters for horror to date. He has written and directed hits such as "Escape From New York", "The Thing", and "The Fog." But none of these even compare to his masterpiece "Halloween." This was one of the first slasher movies ever written and still remains as the best to date. This film uses suspence instead of gore and that really makes a diffrent. So many modern horror films use blood and gore to create tension and build up scares, but end out coming off just bloody. "Halloween," has very little gore and maintains the highest intensity that a horror film could provide. Carpenter's camera work and atmosphere are so great here. Very few horror films have that aspect today. "Scream," which was very good, is one of the best modern day horror films, but doesn't even compare to this. This is on a whole other level. A must for any film fan, and even if you're not, you should definitly check this one out.

Summary: The Night HE came home...
Review: This is absolutely the best in the series. It's about the night HE came home and he does it with a style. I really admire how wisely Michael Myers kills all the witnesses around his sister Laurie Strode... and then we see this little domestic quarrell wich makes this movie woth of 4 stars. Just take my simple advice: Buy it.

Summary: Great Movie
Review: I really like this movie. It's a pretty good plot, although I feel the plot is a little incomplete, but that's why there's the the t.v. version available. I wouldn't necessarily say this is scary, but it spooky and definatley the scariest slasher movie that I have seen, besides Halloween II, although I like Halloween more. It's definatley worth viewing, and it's good all throughout, and the last half hour is really terrific!

Summary: "The night HE came home..."
Review: The plot is actually very simple, 6 year-old Michael Myers brutally murders his sister, Judith Myers, and is locked up in a mental hospital, until he escapes 15 years later and returns to Haddonfield (his hometown). He proceeds to stalk his other, younger sister, Laurie Strode (Jamie Lee Curtis). Along the way, he kills a couple of dogs, and most of Laurie's friends, and almost gets her, too. But, Michael's old psychiatrist, Dr. Sam Loomis (Donald Pleasence) is determined to find and stop Michael before he turns the small town of Haddonfield into a slaughter house. This is the first movie in the popular Halloween series, and I'll admit, Michael Myers is a lot more unpredictable than Jason. For one, he would grab his victims and hold them for a bit, keeping you wondering what he's going to do to 'em, and you'll find out, don't worry, but the Jason films actually showed most of what Jason did, half the killings in this doesn't even show what Michael did, but that's okay because it adds to the suspence and keeps you wondering...and wondering...sorry, space out. Anyway, the Halloween Theme, composed by writer/director John Carpenter (the director of this film), was especially chilling, and pretty catchy at that. Jamie Lee Curtis was pretty good at playing Laurie, but I'm sad to say that she got a little too cute with those two kids in one part, and I hated that they kept Myers in the shadows most of the time, and now you know why I only gave this four stars. Plus, there isn't a whole lot of gore either, but I can do just fine without that, it doesn't matter, but sometimes, things get a little too gory for me (a.k.a. Wishmaster 3, Faust: Love of the Damned). The sequel, Halloween II, was especially amazing, Halloween 4 (skipped over #3 for obvious reasons) was typical, 5 was a downer, 6 was really good, 7 was, again, typical. You won't find Jamie Lee Curtis in 3, 4, 5, or 6, but she finally appears again in H20 (a.k.a. Halloween 7), and is in the beginning of Halloween: Resurrection. If you love horror films with little blood, lots of shadows, and a chilling soundtrack, than this is the one for you, but even if you're a gore fan, the soundtrack and the overall feature will make up for the lack of blood.

Summary: John Carpenter's Halloween
Review: This is one of my all time favorites as far as Horror movies go. This movie barely has any gore or language in it. The movie starts out at in a small town named Haddonfield on Halloween in 1978. It has has a teenager named Laurie Strode(Jamie Lee Curtis) and her friends Annie Brackett(Nancy Loomis) and Lynda(P.J. Soles)are babysitting during the night. During that day, Michael Myers(Nick Castle), a man who had killed his sister as a six-year old during Halloween of 1963, had escaped an institution and headed to Haddonfield to commit his crime again. But can Dr. Sam Loomis(Donald Pleasense), a doctor who worked with Michael for 15 years, stop him? Or will it be to late? Find out in this ultimate Thriller. You will have to watch Halloween II to find out what else happens on Halloween of 1978.

Summary: The first Halloween is the best
Review: This one is far the best of the Halloween series, it contains every single element that build a classic: good acting, good direction, good story, good special effects, and the sets are simply outstanding. The second film has a good story, but the other elements are gone including the suspense and the scares which turn the film in a silly and boring sequel. Halloween 3, 4, and 5 are just below average horror sequels and added nothing to the series at all. Halloween 6 is far, really far, the worst film not only of the series but probably of the cinema history. It's frustrating to admit, but this movie has nothing, absolutely nothing that makes worth seeing it. Three years after H6 comes H20, a good entry that, at least, retrieved some respect to the series.

Summary: New meaning of Halloween.
Review: This movie is one of the best horror movies of all time.If you like the Friday the 13th and Nightmare on Elm Street series (witch are great movies)your gonna love this series of horror movies. In this movie when you think he's gonna pop out and just kill somebody,he dosen't and when he kill's someone your not expecting it.It's made poorly, but it dosen't really need any special effect's,and since it was made in the 80's.It's hard to believe it's Jamie Lee Curtises first movie. She play's her part like she's done it before. Not all the actor's are great but it's a great movie. If you like horror movies like some of us in the world see this movie.

Summary: Just the best of the best
Review: Halloween is just one of the best pictures of horror ever made. Following the line of Psycho (remember that Dr. Loomis is the same doc that appears at the end of Psycho, studying the criminal conduct of Norman Bates), Halloween puts the serial killer anger in a mind that is the evil itself. Myers begins like human being, but finishes like an archetip of the human terror; the terror at night, at unknown things, a conduct that no matter how knowledge you have, you simply never, ever, will be able to forget or left behind. That's why the boogie man is inmortal, and why he follows his victims... in silence.
That's why Halloween is more than a simply horror movie, it's the representation of all horrors incarnates. It's just the best of the best... & Halloween II... well, see my review... It's the best of the rest.

Summary: Halloween - One of the best slasher films gets a makeover!
Review: As you all know, Halloween was one of the first successful slasher films to set the standard for years to come. It's simply a classic, and is even better in this incredible DVD, which is packed with loads of special features.

In Haddonfield Illinois, Michael Myers, at the innocent age of 6 brutally murdered his sister on Halloween night. Why? Nobody knows (the reason is hinted in later sequels). He is admitted into a mental hospital and is treated by Dr. Loomis (Donald Pleasance) for several years. 15 years later Michael manages to escape the facility and venture back to Haddonfield to kill off the rest of his family. The film mainly focuses on his sister Laurie who has been adopted by the Strode family. For days Michael stalks her until Halloween once again arrives, to relieve his rage again.

Halloween made it's debut in 1978, and for a film that old, you'd never know it with the picture and sound quality this DVD has to offer. It has been totally remastered.

The DVD is also loaded with special features including a 30 minute documentary on Halloween where you will be able to watch interviews with John Carpenter, Jaime Lee Curtis and alot more... some being surprises. Also you will find theatrical trailers, TV spots, photo gallery, and radio advertisements for the film. Very nifty.

Even if I owned this film on VHS I would still purchase the DVD for the amazing remastering, and the huge bundle of special features. This classic film has had a tremendous makeover. What are you waiting for? Buy this now!
