Review: I'm sorry, but remaking a classic movie is the dumbest idea to hit hollywood lately. Didn't the remake of Psycho make anyone sit up and take notice at what a bad idea this is?You know, it's a rather sad time for movies these days. Every movie is either a direct ripoff, a sequel, a re-release, or a remake. Are there ANY original people out there these days? Or do we need to continue watching movies we've already seen in one form or another? I can see remaking a movie that simply wasn't that good, but why remake a movie like this which is a classic? Oh I know...MONEY. Since there isn't any way to truly make the original better, I see no point in this other than to make money. Better get ready for an Exorcist and Halloween remake too I guess *sigh*

Review: im a die hard fan of TTCM and this movie looks great. im only dissapointed in the fact that there is no franklin. NO . Franklin made the whole movie funny. This is a remake of the firstone and it does not follow the right story line as the first one. But besides that, the movie looks pretty good.

Summary: Remake of the 1974 cult classic!
Review: When Tobe Hooper created the original TCM, the face of horror was forever changed in a way we've never seen it before! Based on a true story, the film concerns five youths whose summer afternoon turns into a bloody nightmare when a family of gruesome cannibals takes a bite out of them. One by one, the victims fall as prey to the disfigured, Leatherface who wields a chainsaw and wears a human skin-made mask! In the end only one survivor will be left standing. The remake version itself is sure to carry some similarities that were of the original, while revealing some new surprises along the way! This version will possibly contain more blood and gore (considering the original had very little.) Old and new 'Chainsaw Massacre' fans are sure to enjoy this adaptation even if not fully true to Hooper's. I will definetally be seeing this movie when it's released. TAGLINE: "Who will survive and what will be left of them?" FIND OUT!

Summary: Looks EXTREMELY stupid!
Review: No offense to anyone who is dying to see this film, but the trailer does NOT sell it at all! It makes the movie look so horrible and boring, but, then again, you can't judge a book by its cover. But, I advise everyone to read up on it and view the trailer before seeing it. To be honest, the original was very stupid, in my opinion.

Review: When i first thought about it, i thought, kewl, another remake of a classic movie, but after watching the previews before the movie Freddy Vs. Jason, i knew this movie would rock! I hope everyone sees it!!

Summary: Intense and well-crafted trailer
Review: If you haven't seen "Freddy vs Jason" and you're checking out the TCM remake page here- you better go see it because it's mighty well done AND there's a 2-3 minute trailer of the incredible-looking new "Texas Chainsaw" included in the previews! It goes to show how truly powerful the 1974 original- 3 horrible box-office-flop "sequels" and now a remake- only a movie as hard-hitting as TCM could keep the filmmakers trying at it. I'm thinking, though, that history won't be repeating itself with this one, which from the looks of the creepy trailer, just might do Tobe Hooper's original justice. The preview begins with a deceivingly pleasant-sounding song over shots of the five young friends heading out for, as John Larroquette said in the original's narration, an idyllic summer afternoon drive (except this time they're going to find drugs or something, not visiting a relative's cemetary). Even these shots had a kind of a grainy, sensual, melting-sun aura around them, like the claustrophobic original- then they pick up the prophet-of-death hitchhiker; everything goes silent. Including the annoyingly loud crowd in the theater- this was like the third or fourth preview, and it was the first time that theater was silent, and it lasted the entire preview. The trailer gives a great sense of just what kind of remake the new TCM is. The same general story, with several shots wonderfully reminiscent of the original- such as the camera following low and close behind a young woman in very tight jeans and the explorative venture into the cannibal family's house. The differences seem stylistic- the hitchhiker is not a psychopath but a victim, so the 5 teens know something weird is going on early but through a different impression than the original. I wonder how much that would change the story? Also, there are shots of the family's house as more stylized and creepy looking, very ominous against a flowing ashen sky. One thing I don't think there was in the trailer was the Leatherface-Sally (Marilyn Burns) chase scene through the woods from the original; that was absolutely classic and TCM's countless rip-offs can't come close to decently imitating it- hopefully some homage is paid to it in the remake. The filmmakers utilize the flasbulb-screeching noise-fade from the beginning of the original film in the trailer to cut between shots of the terrified cast- a very unsettling and well-done sequence. Even more encouraging is that we hardly see Leatherface in the trailer- one of the powers of the first TCM and the original "Halloween" is that the movie builds up the terror- the nightmare isn't right up in your face all the time but it's always in your mind. There is lot of horror conveyed, but we're not numbed out of spookiness as are Jason and Myers by their perpetual screentime and lack of suspense in their recent movies. The trailer is quite powerful. The final scene is straight from the original- one of its most powerful scenes- Leatherface slamming the steel door to his kitchen on the camera (after heaving in the body of a teenaged intruder that he just claw-hammered in the head)- cut to black. Then the words "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre" come on, big and beautiful, eliciting some of the quiet crowd to cheers. Judging by the care the filmmakers put into crafting the trailer, they should be doing the original classic justice with this one.

Review: I wonder how long it will take for Hollywood to admit that they can't come up with anymore bright ideas for movies. Now they must remake a classic that shouldn't be remade at all. First The Shining, The Ring, DAWN OF THE DEAD (DIE SCUM) now this movie. I seriously hope this movie fails cuz I know it will stink. I don't even need to see this movie to know that. Originals are always the best. They can't remake classics, period. Don't support this. For the love of god, avoid at all cost! :)

Summary: Watch The Original
Review: I have watched several versions of this story and in my opinion the original version is still the best. This modern version is hyped up with sexy teenagers and definitely more obvious gore....like legs getting severed and bodies hung up like meat. Those aspects were also in the original but your mind was what presented the gore more than actual special effects. The actors are all pretty lame, stupid and witless. But who else would stay around in such a crazy town? The "chainsaw" family are all pretty disgusting, inbred and wicked. The scenery is trashy, dirty and littered with pieces of old dead bodies and rusty cars. Of course it is always dark and rainy, a must for bad horror films! The only thing that makes this film at all interesting is the way that the filmakers present clips at the beginning and end leading one to believe this story might actually have taken place in some small creepy town right in our own backyards. That in itself is enough to creep you out. Don't watch it alone but don't miss the original either.
