Summary: Pointless Remake
Review: What were they thinking in Hollywood when the decision was made to remake Tobe Hooper's original film. The film is more an exercise in revisionism and symbolic of the lack of originality that plaques Hollywood today. I found the film to be pointless much like the remake of Alfred Hitchock's Psycho. It's rare when the original film can improved upon via a remake. This film is a reason why not to remake classic horror films. Don't bother with this one folks, not worth your time nor money.

Summary: A Revamp of a Classic
Review: The Texas Chainsaw Massacre is one of the best Horror Movies ever made. With that said, I dont understand why all these horror movie fanatics are all in an upheveal because there was a remake of the original. You would think that Hollywood was creating something blasphemous... In my opinion, i think that a remake of a movie shows people that its worth the time, money, and effort to tell the story again to a new generation. Personally, i recommend people to watch the Original TCM first. The first TCM is a classic for its grainy documentary appeal and its macabre comedy making it a spooky reality freak show. Then watch the remake and stay away from people with food in the hands because its going to land everywhere. The remake is based mainly on eye candy, thank you Hollywood, and fast paced jump sequences that will make you scream every two minutes. All in all they are both great interpretations of a horrific and plausible story. I walked away from the original nauseated, and walked away from the remake jumpy and looking over my shoulder...Great Classics!

Summary: Horrifically Great
Review: i will make this quick and to the point. When i first heard about the remake of TCM, i was not happy. the original is such a good movie, and a classic. i was not even remotely interested in seeing the new version. but then i saw commercials and was a little intrigued. i went to see it and was absolutely horrified. it was so gruesome and scarey that i had to hide my face and considered leaving the theatre. i am no horror wuss. i LOVE horror movies, so for this to scare me so much is awesome. watch it, you will not be disappointed.

Summary: leatherface rulezz
Review: if anybody doesnt like this film..he/she shouldn't have seen it in the first place..its strange, when the title of the film explains 75% of its contains, u still have people complaining about the grim voilence and sadism..cmon..what were u expecting..beauty and the beast..??
this film is one of the best remakes i have seen in a recent past..the orignal was kik ass..and this one is nothing less, its rare to see a movie b this engaging esp when u have already seen it 20 years ago..its not a everyday teenagers slasher flick..the acting surprisingly is pretty okey for this genere..and the cinematography is breathtaking ..which pretty much explains the good production value of the film.
there is voilence..ofcourse ..there is gore..but its very contained..mostly suggestive..in one of the interesting scenes of the film..the sheriff asks one of the teenager to re inact a suciede scene by putting a gun in his face..wheww!! intense..!
the reason i didnt gave this film all five starts was..relatively less screen time for the leatherface..which is not like the orignal..cause in the orignal..leatherface had more footage than he has in this..but..i guess, jessica bail makes up for his absence giving this film much more than her acting talent..
this film is sure to please the audience of this genere..and also the youngsters..who havent seen the orignal.

Summary: A NEW CULT CLASSIC
Review: When i first heard about new line cenima making a remake to TCM, i wasn't very sure what to think....i mean, the first was an incredible film, and the two sequels that followed...well, lets just say they lacked. Then was the awfal, so called remake Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Next Generation...ukk....

It was when i first saw the trailer for this film did i realize that this was sure to be a good movie, and boy was right. Everything about this film great, and there was great improvments that the orginal lacked.

The casting was very good, the acting was great. The visual aspect of the film was awasome....Michael Bay, I salute you to a job well done.

Summary: Scariest Film in Years
Review: This movies is by far one of the most creepy intense thrillers I have ever seen on the big screen next to Silence of the Lambs and Red Dragon. Intresting enough they are both based on serial killer Ed Gein.
This movie scared the hell out of me... Very scary. There are alot of scenes that make you just jump. The beginning is also good because it is in black and white as is the end and makes you feel like it's a true story... which it is but it is loosely based. Then when we first meet the characters they are happy and having a good time and listening to "Sweet Home Alabama" :-) And thats the only "feel good moment" of the movie. After that they pick up a hitchhiker it all goes down hill from there. This movie was better explained and a more deep and complex plot than the original... and it actually went into more character depth that the original. The deaths, although they made you flinch were much more interesting. This movie has more gore than the original but not too much... the deaths are done very tastefully and classic. It's only gross because you know some of this actually happened to real people and plus the movie implies more that it shows of what happens to the victims. Also Leatherface looks way cooler in this movie.
SPOILERS: DEATHS

Hitchhiker: Puts a pistol in her mouth and pulls the trigger.

Kemper: Hit in the back with the hammer and dragged to "Leatherface's Lair" where we later find out his face was skinned off and worn by Leatherface.

Andy: Leg sawed of and is carried to the basement where he is hung from his back on a meat hook. Leatherface puts salt on the severed leg and wraps it up. Andy is still alive. Later Erin finds him and he tells her to kill him because he is in pain and suffering. She stabs him in the stomach with a knife.

Pepper: Simply gored with the chainsaw in the woods after the van attack with Erin.

Morgan: After being badly wounded he manages to escape with Erin but when Erin is about to be killed he rushes at Leatherface while Erin runs away. Leatherface impales him on a chandelier and gores him with a chainsaw, he saved Erin's life.

Sheriff: Run over multiple times by Erin.

Erins is the obvious soul survivor of the terrifying events

Summary: My favorite version yet
Review: OK - I think I speak for a lot of us when I say that they shouldn't have made so many sequels to the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre. I've seen Part III and The Next Generation, and they're both not very good films.

Today, I purchased the original TCM (with Marilyn Burns) and I was expecting to be satisfied with the whole plot/storyline and all. BIG DISAPPOINTMENT. Maybe because I was expecting more out of it. The 2003 remake of Texas Chainsaw Massacre is very suspenseful and violent -- an utterfly overwhelming combination of satisfaction when it comes to horror films. The original 1974 version is pretty mude crude, lame, and could have been better. I was expecting to be pleased by the original "sensation," but was left high and dry.

This remake is my favorite TCM movie yet. It's got a lot of suspense, it's graphic/violent, and it has you begging for more throughout the film. This movie is pure suspense, which makes it much more interesting. I think the actors in this film performed wonderfully. I can't wait to buy this edition.

Summary: For once.. a remake with style!!
Review: I remember the very first time I saw the preview for this, I thought.. UGH.. Another Texas Chainsaw remake. Cuz let us not forget the abismal attempt made by Renee Zellwegger and Matthew McConaughey in 1994. Anyway.. This remake also had one other strike against it.. Jessica Biel. I thought she was just another mindless princess who had no acting chops. But regardless of those facts, I am a horror film FANATIC, so I wanted to see it, just to decide for myself. I went opening weekend with a couple of friends, and I must say, I havent been this impressed with a film in YEARS.. The scares were well planned, and that doesnt happen often.. Jessica was the highlight of the film and I have a new found respect for her.. I never thought I would ever reccomend watching a remake over the original, but with Texas Chainsaw Massacre, rent the remake.. I recently re-visited the original, and I must say.. I don;t know what it was that scared me so much when I was a kid. The movie was horrible.. So, I repeat.. watch the remake and have a good night cuddled up with your cutie..

Summary: The Texas Chainsaw Massacre,2003
Review: This movie was far more scarier than the original. The special effects are gruesome, gory, bloody, and just plain awesome! This classic story remake gives an appeasing twist to the original. I recommend this film to anyone who's in for a scare!

Summary: I did not like it.... I'll stick wit the original version...
Review: I did not like it....
Why? Because it seems like a big rock video. It looks like a production designer's let's-make-it-weird paradise: something copied from a "Prodigy meets Marilyn Manson"... something copied from other movies... "The Cell", "Seven", etc... this is clearly a product for the Britney Spears audience.

It has none of the original cruelty nor humour. Everybody seems to be too beautiful and sexy. The original was dry, dusty, cheap and very potent. This version is advertising.

Try it for yourself and (also) see the original.
Me? No!
