Summary: THE ART OF JOLTING, BLOODY HORROR
Review: Clearly in the tradition of "Le Theatre Du Grande Guignol," TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE (New Line), the 2003 version of the eponymous 1974 film is an exquisitely visual tour de force that creates grotesque beauty out of its horrific title premise. Once again, oblivious, rural teens encounter a crazed, chainsaw-wielding, human-skin-wearing maniac. Jessica Biel is photographed with loving care and R. Lee Ermy from Kubrick's "Full Metal Jacket" is a standout as a not so helpful sheriff.

Bloody and horrific, this artfully directed film of warm burnished hues and menacing shadows is not for everyone.

Summary: Was this really a remake?...........
Review: I saw the original and I loved it and I went and watched the remake. Was this really the remake?
Though it was a good remake was this really a remake or a sequal?

1.I dont remeber seeing a girl blow her brains out in a van.
2.I dont remeber the main character saving a kid in the original.
3.Were was the guy in the weel chair?
4.Was this really inspired by a true story?....

I dont get why they ruind a classic.
They are ruining the movies reputation.
And now there gonna do it with dawn of the dead.
FOR SHAME!!!!!
I enjoyed this movie in some bizaro way but how can we
relate this to a remake? Cmon now.......

Its a good movie but if it is a remake it doesnt live up
to the hype. Well At least for me. But that girl from 7th heaven is hot!
Check the movie out for your self if you want.

Summary: The Account of a Tragedy Which Befell a Group of Five Youths
Review: The film which you are about to see is the account of a tragedy which befell a group of five youths. It is all the more tragic in that they were young but had they lived very, very long lives they could not have expected, nor would they have wished to see as much of the mad and macabre as they were to see that day. For them an idealic summer afternoon -became a nightmare. For 30 years the files collected dust in the cold case division of the Travis County Police Department- over 1300 pieces of evidence collected at the crime scene at the Hewitt residence. Yet, None of the evidence was more compelling than the classified police footage taken at the crime scene walk through. The events of that day were to lead to one of the most bizarre crimes in the annals of American history, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre.
This film is the most terrifying and disturbing motion picture I have ever seen. It is done with style and taste and will be remembered for years to come.

Summary: One of the worst remakes ever put on film.
Review: I place the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre among one of the greatest 20 films of all time (and not just horror films, but ALL films). Part of the allure of that movie was that you had the feeling that the movie was real, that it was almost a documentary (like the Blair Witch Project, which I also highly recommend). The original also gave some motivation for the "family's" crazy behavior: they had worked for generations in the slaughterhouse. With the advent of modern machinery, their job of slaughtering the cows by hand was becoming obselete, so they took their aggressions out on others. Even Roger Ebert -- who is not a great horror film fan -- acknowledged that the original TCM had raw power and made a political statement.

The remake is a terrible, terrible slasher movie without any of the undertones of the original. The fake video footage at the beginning and end of the film is laughable; yet it's the only vestige of the original movie. The remake loses all the realistic terror that made the original such a great movie. There also is absolutely no explanation for why the "family" is so crazy and wants to kill passers-by, which really takes away from the point of the movie. There are a lot of great slasher movies out there. This doesn't even come close. If I had a choice to give this movie zero stars instead of 1 star, I would do so. After all, Roger Ebert did.

Summary: Great movie! Don't think that its going to be the original!
Review: The only TCM movie I loved was the first one...all the remakes seemed to be a complete waste of film. But there was something about this movie that put it up there with the best in horror history.

The new version had a lot more gore than the first one. The first one really left you thinking about what happened to the kids that where killed...in this one they show you. This movie also runs off a good story line. This and the first TCM are the only ones to do this. Not only that...it's been a long long time since a horror movie has made me jump and this one did in a few spots. So this movie is definitely worth checking out!!!

Summary: One of the best horror flicks out
Review: I'm a big fan of horror movies, but there are very few that are good due to the fact that they aren't scary at all. This movie was probably the scariest movie I have seen in a long while. Texas Chainsaw Massacre is the only movie that had me looking forward to the end of the movie because it was so scary. With that said, if you're a fan of horror, this is a must see.

Summary: Here me out
Review: Ok before a die hard fan of the origianl movie clicks on the no box below here me out.

Why don't you people who say that the remake was better see the new one as a diffrent series? You have to admit that this is a pretty good film.I know you're thinking that this is just some teenager who never saw the original, well guess again.I did see the original and I thought that it was good too.

I think that the people who say that this one is worse than the original go into the movie with their minds set that they're going to hate it.Give it a chance.

The directing and acting in the movie is really good, not acadamy award winning but some of the best i've seen in horror movies. At least they didn't make a total mockery of the series like Freddy vs. Jason.

So come on people stop treating the original as the best piece of horror movies open your minds to new things.

Summary: Pretty good remake....
Review: The first movie was still alot better and more realistic, but this remake was very, very, good. But some parts were just downright stupid, which is why I didn't give this a 5. The suspense in this movie was great, it had you thinking what's going to happen next. Here's an example of stupidity in this movie:Ok, we're in the middle of nowhere, a girl just shot herself in our car, we get out to wait for the sheriff by a big old barn, its extremely dark inside the barn and something moves, LET'S GO INVESTIGATE!!!! What a smart idea! Alot of things could have been avoided, the sheriff was pretty old and the young people could have easily taken him on for his weapon but instead they get ready for the last minutes of their lives. Most of them at least. If you haven't seen the original, watch that first, then watch this film. It's really intense and the atmosphere is amazing. Horror fans must watch this, it's one of the best new horror films but still can't compare to the original. And anybody who tell's you different is a complete idiot!

Summary: "Texas" Toasted
Review: unnecessary remake of Tobe Hooper's, gritty, documentry, style horror film. This "Texas Chainsaw" is a slicked up, glossed over slasher film that tries to scare, but, I couldn't help but watch and compare it to the original, as the film unspooled before me.

Its the early 70's, in anywhere Texas, USA. On a deserted stretch of road, a van full of kids are headed to see a Sknyrd concert (& hopefully score some reefer on the way), but, get sidetracked when the group picks up a beaten, battered, exhausted, & bloody young girl, staggering on the side of the road, claiming that "he's coming" and she wants to end it all. She does by grabbing one of the kids' pistol and blowing her brains out. Everyone freaks and stops at the nearest store to call for help. The kids get deeper into to trouble, as the lady of the store tells them that the Sheriff will meet them all down the road, in a field not to far from the store. Sad to say, who & what they run into has nothing to do with Law Enforcement.

The film has some major problems.

One - I did not buy for one second that the film takes place in the 70's. The film is so glossed over that it looks like the film was made by the employees at the local GAP. Also, why is it that every filmmaker has got to have "Sweet Home Alabama" playing on the soundtrack to make a statement that the film is offically in the 70's? Alabama ain't that sweet.

Two - These kids are dumber than Gump! They deserve to die! I would have brought the girl's body to the local hospital, no if's, and's, or but's about it (if anyone rejected that idea, I would've tossed'em out of the van). Even if I stopped to call the cops, I wouldn't be going to no field in the middle of East Bum**ck, Texas, no matter what the cops say.

Three - The "Blair Witch" documentary style pieces that bookend the film aren't neccessary and look foolish. It comes off like an episode of "In Search Of" without the search.

Four - Leatherface. He sucks. Gone is the crazy, running, cannibilistic, squealing, hill-billy mute from Tobe Hooper's nightmare. Here, Leatherface looks like he could easily get sidetracked playing charades rather than chasing young, nubile, females for his supper.

I can't stop recommending the original because with that film it had a gritty, dirty, sadistic, scary, 70's documentary feel to it (I still cringe when the kid in the wheelchair gets the chainsaw handshake from old rubberface). As for the remake, watch the original first, this "Chainsaw" runs with the chain off.

Summary: Awsome, don't care what you say, this movie rocked bum
