Review: Some of the scariest films are those which mess with your head. This is one of them. Watch it alone in the dark and asking for help from the cabin off in the woods will be out of the question. I found it to be realistic. It could happen today as it did then. The sequels are more funny than scary.What gives the sequels the scary element is that there may be people like that in the world today in some remote area right under our noses. The first was the best.

Summary: STUPID MOVIE! STUPID! STUPID! STUPID!
Review: This movie should be banned! Only some sick and perversed idiot would watch "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre". This is such a horrible novie. Should be rated X! Not R! I litarlly had to rush for the bathroom to hurl everytime I saw a leg chainsaw off or blood spilling everywhere, not to mention the horrific screams of the victims. How can you stand it? And what's with the shaky camera. Must of been run on a 16mm camera(like the Blair Witch Project). The TCM is all sick and wrong. It should be banned forever. Anyone who likes this movie has to be some messed-up sick guy who likes to watch people getting chomped up.

Summary: Absolutely Perfect...
Review: I have never seen TCM before. I like horror flicks and I bought this DVD edition of TCM. First of all I must admit that the animated menu is quite well because you watch dripping blood on the title while you are listening to the screaming people and after a while Leatherface jumps out towards you... that really scared me! The extra materials are perfect, too. Original scenes (w or w/o sound) are added and theatrical trailers are somewhat creepy... The picture quality is 5 because an old film can not be transferred better than this... Buy this or repent!

Summary: So glad I SAW it!
Review: Although this film has been banned in Britain for many years, I was happy to see that it has been re released here in the UK.I loved the way this film worked and the cannibal family were rather entertaining. The Texas Chainsaw Massacre was not as gory as I expected it to be but it was still good. The 3rd sequel (the next generation) was an utter dissapointment. But the first Chainsaw gets 5 stars. Top notch horror.

Review: When I first saw this film it had just been released to theaters and it scared the bejesus out of me (it seems a little more tame with age). I have since gone deaf from medical complications and have a large video and DVD library. Of coarse these are all closed captioned or subtitled. I was very disappointed when I rented the TCM DVD and found that not only was it NOT captioned but it had NO subtitles in any language. Night of the Living dead is the same way, 2 great cult films that only cater to the healthy sick and twisted people out there. Well, it's time some of us handicapped sick and twisted people were able to enjoy the same depravity!

Review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eview: i can never even look at a chainsaw without thinking of this film.definately one of the most terrifying movies i have ever seen.it didn't help that as a child i was told that it was 100% true!i still get frightened when i watch it anyway.the acting is superb and hooper really made a horror masterpiece on what most likely was a miniscule budget.if you have not seen this movie and liked blair witch project,get a hold of it.this movie ranks up there(if not ahead) with night of the living dead as proof that high budget blood and guts does not make scary scary.all hail leatherface!

Summary: good idea but poorly made!
Review: the idea behind this movie was a fabulous one- i mean who wouldn't be scared of a chainsaw welding maniac named leatherface?- but in order for such an idea to work, you have to be able to see the picture on the screen. i mean for me to be scared at a movie, i have to be able to SEE what is happening to the characters! to me, the best part of the movie was the ending... of course that could of had something to do with the fact that the ending was the only part in the movie that you could actually see! though i wasn't impressed with the rest of the movie, i did enjoy the way the potential victim just barely escaped leatherface. it just goes to show that when you could actually see the movie, it was rather enjoyable! i know that it was made on a low budget but come on, couldn't you at least afford a few overhead lights!

Review: I have loved The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (TCM) ever since I saw it 4 years ago. Since then I have been a loyal fan to the film, and have many different copies on tape. Christmas time finally came around and I got my DVD Player and the TCM dvd. I popped in the DVD and was AMAZED! The film transfer blows away all the VHS copies out there. I've seen things I never knew was there. The film looks almost brand new, and you really get respect for the photography put into the film, the way all the colors blend together. But the extras is what really made this disc. There are TONS! A good commentary track, about 5-6 deleted scenes (like Leatherface putting on make up!), a blooper reel (Franklin falls over in his wheelchair) which is pretty good, trailers, and over 50 different pictures from the movies, stills, props, and lots more! If you are a TCM fan you absolutly must get this disc, it makes all the magic and joy from the first time you watched it all come back again!

Review: Don't let the title mislead you, the movie isn't really graphic-most of the murders are in very little light and show nothing. Weird, funny, terrifying and campy all at once. If you are faint of heart, DON'T WATCH IT! A must-see for any and all horror fans.
