Rating: Summary: Everything A Movie Should Be! Review: One doesn't realize the impact "Army of Darkness" has had on popular culture until you look around a bit. Ash, played wonderfully by Bruce Campbell, is surely the inspiration for many wise-cracking video game heroes from Duke Nuke'Em to Lara Croft. "Army of Darkness" Special Edition had to work to win me over, as I already owned the first widescreen released long ago. This disc set does not disappoint. The Director's Cut is an interesting look into the editing process and the alternate ending is quite different but funny. This film is a cult classic, and will probably be so for all time.
Rating: Summary: Missing a line Review: I have loved this movied since the first time I seen it, from Ash's one liners to...well the one liners are just so great. So that is why it pulls my heart that in the Director's cut of this movie they take out my favorite one liner. "Good...Bad...I'm the guy with the gun." Now what's with that. Besides that the set is beyond belief.
Rating: Summary: Army of Darkness is the "wizard of oz" of B-Movies Review: This has got to be one of the greatest movies of all time the Evil Dead trilogy is on of the greatest trilogies to have been put on film. I think what makes these films is the quality of the special effects, not to mention the quality preformance given by Bruce Campbell
Rating: Summary: VHS Widescreen is Edited Review: The VHS Widescreen version of this movie is edited from the original movie. There's all kinds of nips and tucks throughout the movie, the "little Ash'es" scene was cut in half, for instance. AoD is a great movie, but don't buy the VHS Widescreen version if you want to see all of it. I have no idea whether the other VHS and DVD releases are butchered similarly.
Rating: Summary: I loved this movie! Review: I enjoyed this movie enmencely. I liked this movie so much that the week I saw it I went out and bought it. This is a major cult classic. Bruce campell gave a magnificent performance.
Rating: Summary: Wish I could give it more stars Review: The best of the 3 Evil Dead movies. Ash is not the arch typical hero. He's more like the average person. I hope there is an Evil Dead 4 with his hand making a return....
Rating: Summary: Buy this, NOW!!! Review: This special edition rerelease contains all the slapstick greatness of the original, and adds to it. If you've never seen this movie, or are a long time fan, this special edition is a great buy. 2 discs containing not only the original theatrical release, but the movie as it was meant to be seen, in it's orignal uncut greatness. Along with bios, a documentary, and 4 deleted scenes, I urge anyone who's a fan of Evil Dead. Or just horror in general, to check this out.
Rating: Summary: The best of Sam Raimi Review: More accessible than its two predecessors (Evil Dead 1 & 2) with less gore, this, to me, is the perfect send-up of several genres at once. Bruce Campbell is hilarious as the self-important, arrogant K-Mart type sales clerk with a complete inability to remember important but short magical spells...(and I just loved seeing the Necronomicon and hearing 'Klaatu barada nikto!' in the same film)...I can't believe that anyone but a 12 year old with a gore fixation would dislike it! The scene with Ash trying to outwit his tiny mirror images is another high point...If you are a fan of Horror, Fantasy, and/or Science Fiction films and you have a sense of humor, you must see it!
Rating: Summary: Great, campy horror movie! Review: The Army of Darkness is the best horror-comedy of all time. Bruce Campbell does a great job as Ash, the chainsaw-wielding hardware clerk from S-Mart. The dialogue is sharp, the action is great, and Sam Raimi uses great camera work in the film. Can we please have an Evil Dead 4?
Rating: Summary: Very Funny Review: This is a hilarious Comedy. If you love one liners and just a great Horror/Comedy, look no further
