Summary: Halloween .... THX ... what could be better?
Review: The restored version of Halloween ... what a God-sent. The best horror movie ever made just got a little better. The picture quality is unbelievable compared to the earlier versions. As far as the sound goes, a little THX goes a long way. Actually, if you're a purest like I am, you can always choose the original mono soundtrack, because the THX track is slightly modified (the music sounds a little different, which really threw me). But I highly recommend this version of Halloween (hell, I recommend ANY version of Halloween). The second disk with the added footage is ok ... it's good for true collectors to have, but it's obvious by watching it that Carpenter knew what he was doing by cutting those scenes out of the original.

Summary: This is the BEST horror film!
Review: This movie I just love! Even though it was a low budget production, it was very well acted. I think the director (John Carpenter) showed us that a movie doesn't have to have a high budget in order to be good. Jamie Lee Curtis as well as the rest of the cast were excellent in this flick and I really hope the rumor is true about a Halloween 8! I still haven't seen Halloween 3 (don't want to ) or 4 and 5. But Halloween 1,2 and H20 are great!

Summary: Magnificently freaky anf frightening!
Review: I thought this was a terrific movie. I saw this, among it's sequals, and I felt that they were all great. Many people say that the sequals are usually much better. In this case I don't feel that way. I love all of them(except the 3rd installment, never saw it) but the first Halloween was defiantely the best.

Summary: best viewing of halloween ever
Review: I've seen many versions of Halloween over the years, either on tv or on videocassette, and the quality of this DVD made my last viewing the best. Not only the widescreen view but the quality of the digital mastering, both sound and picture, is excellent. The extra documentary is nice to see, too.

Summary: A great young upstart by Jamie Lee Curtis!
Review: A good slasher film that started the series of other ones(and influenced others as well) A definete cult classic! Of course this isn't Jamie Lee Curtis' first taste in acting(I saw her guest star in an episode of the Nancy Drew Mysteries, which was made a year and a half before the release of this movie). Other slasher films that carried on the tradition like this one are Friday the 13th, A Nightmare On Elm Street, and Scream!Curtis, 20 years later, returned to finally kill Michael Myers, but none of them are as good as this one.I always watch this one close to Halloween!
