Summary: Evil Dead is a true cult moive
Review: This is truly one of the great low budget slash movies of our time. The best thing about this moive is that you will never get tired of it. The first time you see it you will jump out of you seat and wonder what is going to happen next. And once you see it over and over again it just becomes a very fun movie to watch which makes it such a good buy. Yes getting the collectors edition dose make a big differnece get the widscreen for the best effect.

Summary: The film has never looked better!
Review: Considering the film was made in 1982, and was only filmed on 16mm, Sam Raimi has worked wonders with cleaning it up. The picture quality is brilliant, the whole thing is bright and clear, and the only sign of grain is in the main title. But apart from that, everything is superb, and its only presented in 4:3 fullscreen. The sound is pretty good, but nothing essentially special, but still better, and it contains two commentary tracks, theatrical trailer, still gallery and 20 minutes of behind-the-scenes fottage. Every fan has to have it.

Summary: Horrible, Disturbing, Disgusting
Review: I am a big fan of horror movies like the Nightmare on Elm Street collection, and the Hellraiser and Phantasm movies. There's something that these movies have that The Evil Dead doesn't. These movies have interesting villains. It doesn't matter how gory they get, you still like the villains. Like Freddy Kreuger, for example. He's the "bad guy" of the movie, but the movie builds around the characters and keeps you interested in the next gory thing that Freddy will do. The Evil Dead had a thin plot that didn't bother to let you know the characters. There are many good horror movies out there that are very gory and graphic, but the Evil Dead disturbed me. It had no heart, and was a pure bloodbath. The whole point of the movie was killing and dismemberment, the plot is easily forgotten. I hated this movie and I would advise those of you like me who love horror movies, but not bloodbath movies to stay away from The Evil Dead.

Summary: An Great Horror Classic.
Review: This film has great plot, a lot of scary moments, good make-up effects scenes, Excellent Direction From Director Raimi, also Written the film. Good Music Score From Joseph DeLuca. Also i think,it was the first film to filmed in a Stedy-Cam, it was filmed in 1979, because this film was film project for College. Relase In 1983 by Then-independent Studio-New Line Cinema.

Bruce Campbell is very good actor in all three Evil Dead Movies. Too Bad, he doesn`t get much intentions from hollywood. The only thing, that bug me in the series is, they always change the beginning of the two another sequels. Still a great horror classic.

DVD`s has an clear Pan & Scan(1.33:1)transer and an excellent Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround and also on Dolby Stereo/6 Channel Sound. The DVD has two different entertaining commentary tracks by Sam Raimi, Robert Tapert & Bruce Campbell. There`s some deleted scenes, outtakes & behind the secens featurette. Grade:A.

Summary: This movie's okay
Review: Five friends rent a cabin in the woods and release an evil spirit into the area that turns them all into zombies. Very impressive visuals and a good time to be had, but this is not as scary or gory as reputation has it. I'd recommend popcorn, pepsi and pizza but you'd probably throw them up.

Summary: Low-budget filmmaking at its best
Review: Not only is this one of the best horror movies ever made, its also the debut of one of the most kinetic and exciting directors ever. Even though it was made on no money, the makeup effects are great and Bruce Campbell hints at the total insanity his performance would bring to Evil Dead's successor. One of the few movies ever to actually frighten me, Raimi really builds up the tension with his careful use of all the horror movie cliches, creaking doors, smoke etc., but puts it all together to make a spooky atmosphere that'll have your heart in your throat. The gore flies as Ash tries to stomp out the demon threat, (I made my uncle vomit with this flick) and he almost succeeds. This is a true horror movie classic, shows what a bunch of college guys with some karo syrup and a camera can do. The DVD extras are great, a total must-see, buy it NOW!

Summary: Beginning Of the best Trilogy
Review: It just arrived today and I have to say that this is just the beginning of what has to be the best trilogy ever made. It is definately a cult classic, scarey as hell, Still makes you jump. Although you can tell that the budget was not high, you are still sucked in and can't avert your eyes. I can't wait for the other two to arrive now.
