Rating: Summary: Really "a-m-a-z-i-n-g"!! Review: I am so glad that Twin Peaks has at last been transfered into DVD. I honestly ain't got any hope such a similar fact shall happen within Italian market! Looking forward for season two!
Rating: Summary: Great Archive Review: I loved this series in college, and now have the 1st season on DVD. Any Twin Peaks or David Lynch fan should love this. My only criticism is that the flesh tones of most characters blend seamlessly with the wood paneling in the interior shots (sherrif's office, the lumber mill, the hotel, etc.). This doesn't happen any other time (TV, VHS, DVD), and I have a nice TV set as well. I don't think I want to adjust it just for this series, but this still rules. Sound and everthing else is A-OK.
Rating: Summary: I loved it! Review: I was working overseas when the Twin Peaks phenomenon was in full force so I never had the opportunity, until now, to understand what it was all about. Now I know! I purchased both the pilot and the first season and watched them straight through. I loved it all - when will the next season's DVD be released - I can't wait. PS. Before purchasing the first season's DVD, I read the reviews here and decided to purchase the pilot. I think it's a really good idea to view the pilot prior to viewing the first season's DVD.
Rating: Summary: Why did ABC buy it!? Review: In retrospect, you really have to cherish the fact that network television allowed David Lynch twenty-nine weeks at prime time! Forget the X-Files, this was the most profound series ever to appear on t.v. Laura Palmer, BOB, the Black Lodge, Dale Cooper, and the Log Lady-just to name a few. The first seven episodes just tell you why! My only complaint is that you really need the pilot if you are a TP rookie. Hey, I have mine! All the drama is here, however. And the seven series box does give you some background. Once you play the entire first season through you'll be hooked--Pete Martell (the late Jack Nance)would say, "Gone fishing." Packaged very well--a nice contrast of Laura--dead and alive! Let's just hope that this is the beginning and not the end--pray that they release all twenty-nine episodes on DVD-and that we get a domestic version of the pilot.
Rating: Summary: But before you buy this set Review: Yes, this is a great set, and one I've been waiting for for years. BUT FIRST be sure to also order the pilot, which introduces you to the story and the characters. I didn't realize that "Episode One" meant the first episode AFTER the pilot, got all cozy on the couch ready to finally share one of the best series ever shown on Television with my daughter, who was too young the first time around, only to discover it starts AFTER the pilot. A huge disappointment. So BE SURE to get the pilot first, because that sets the tone for the whole series.
Rating: Summary: Still my favorite TV show. Review: Twin Peaks will always have a special place in my heart, as the best, most memorable show ever aired on television. This superb DVD transfer allowed me to re-live the experience in fine fashion -- and yes, Bob still scares the hell out of me! If they can do the same for season two, I'll be the first in line to buy it.
Rating: Summary: Too COOL! Review: I now have the pilot and the First Season on DVD and I couldn't be happier with it. How people can find something to be upset over is beyond me...especially one reviewer's gripe that they don't have a widescreen option!?!? It's a TV show, it was filmed for TV not a movie screen. If you're a fan, you'll love this set.
Rating: Summary: Now What To Do Without Season 2? Cliffhanger? Review: Lynch and Frost are amazing with their sense of directing and writing of the TP series. I recently purchased this dvd set and watched all the episodes over 5 days and was amazed by the clarity and authenticity of the series. Its stands out far beyond anything I have ever seen. I just wish the other seasons where available because I can not wait to see what happens next! Does anyone know when the second season will be coming out on dvd?
Rating: Summary: a comment and an inquiry Review: not much to say other than thank goodness it's finally here on dvd. i cannot tell you how nice it is to watch one of the most entertaining visual experiences with dvd quality. if you want the pilot (or fire walk with me, for that matter), you can easily get....
Rating: Summary: Buy this...then go to ebay Review: This really is the best TV DVD set that I've come across. The transfer's vibrant, it has DTS surround sound, and a plethora of extras. My recent viewing is the first time that I've seen the show. I put in the first disc and watched episode one and was quite bewildered. To remedy this I bought a copy of the pilot from ebay, and when I rewatched episode one I loved it and am now addicted to Twin Peaks. Artisan has done a wonderful job with this set. Warner is certaintly the bad guy for not licencing the pilot. Don't let that keep you from getting this set. It really is David Lynch at the top of his game.
