Rating: Summary: Best Movies all fun to watch!!!! Review: People like to diss freddy and say jason and mike are better but whatever. Friday the 13th series fun to watch but it's just like watching the same movie over and over again. Mike well the story is screwed up I thought mike was trying to kill off his blood line but 7 8 don't fallow the story much. Nightmare on elm street had a fun series and might have some flaws but kept with the story. I don't know what I'm trying to say but this set is the reason i bought a dvd player. Greatest set ever buy now don't wait, tell your mom to buy it for you if your broke!
Rating: Summary: Value you can dream of Review: The Nightmare on Elm Street Collection is possibly one of the best "value for money" items you can buy. The box comes equipped with 8 DVDs and a booklet. The DVDs include all the Nightmare on Elm Street installments plus New Nightmare and an Encylopaedia. All DVDs have been digitally remastered and appear in wide screen format. The quality is crisp and clear. This may come as a relief for those who have tried renting out the old, jaded analog copies from the local rental store with a soundtrack hardly audible and an image hardly legible. At least you can watch your favourite horror flick in digital over and over without ever having to worry about the quality degrading. One minor disadvantage - which can be overlooked thanks to the cheap price - is a slight "dodgy" look. It is barely noticeable but in parts the film "buffers" and the first nightmare appears somewhat jerky. It would appear that New Line Cinema may have digitalised this from an AVI format since it is a cheaper (and less labour intensive) alternative - maybe that's why it's such a bargain! But it is almost unnoticeable and the trade-off is well worth it. Of course, the encyclopaedia - and booklet - add value to this for collectors giving the films a history that would otherwise be overlooked. Even though the interviews in the encylopaedia have no subtitles, each of the films has been digitalised with optional subtitles. Furthermore, each DVD has its own unique, on-screen menu and its own separate case - with given chapter headings - all within the larger box seen in the picture for this product. For those die-hard fans of Freddy, this collection is not to be overlooked. It is a much cheaper alternative to buying the individual DVDs. With this much value, you must be dreaming!
Rating: Summary: It's Freddy Mania! Review: Wow! I decided to treat myself to this amazing box set, and it's value for money all the way through. There are tons of special features and lots of other little things that Freddy fans like myself will love. I have to be honest and say that Nightmare 1 is by far the best Freddy movie and always will be. The sequels are okay but do not have the same spark or magic. I feel that these movies turned Freddy into an 1980's popular horror icon. Nightmare 2 has a slight homoerotic vibe to it. Nightmare 3 is more like a fantasy movie, which is excellent. Nightmare 4 gets more gory but Nightmare 5, 6 and 7 are pretty boring! There isn't much excitement in any of those movies and they are more like comedies with very bad acting and bad scripts!!! However this box set is a real collectors piece which is beautifully presented.
Rating: Summary: I should have bought the DVD set instead! Review: A complete waste of my money when I bought the VHS I only have 7 of them but I didn't know there were 8 with 3D glasses it would probably be much scarier on DVD then VHS. The great thing was that the VHS was cheaper then DVD. I saw the price on DVD and it was like $139.00 and I was like I'm not buying that set and I saw the set for VHS and I decided to get the set instead of DVD since it was expensive the VHS set only cost like about $59.00 cheap the great thing is I own all the Nightmares except Freddy vs. Jason and I'll buy that when it comes out and I think Nightmare on Elm Street is the best horror movie ever it will give you the chills scarier than Jason.
Rating: Summary: wanna get scared watch halloween series Review: when i bought this as i did the halloween series i really thought i was in for a real good scare i watched the first 1 and thought ok not bad not as good as halloween but was ok.watched no 2-no one reprises their role from the origanal which i thought was stupid it was really poor and could call more of a comedy than a horror. The third disc is better than no.2 seeing the girl who was in the first one return it came closer to the ooriganal more than any of the others.4/5/ and even new nightmare(wes cravens 2nd attempt at elm street series) were totally dissapointing and more of a spoof than any thing to the origanal.i havent seen the freddy v jason yet and im in no rush to.the series of elm street are really poor not scary in the slightest and wes craven should be ashamed to let his sequel turn out this bad.whether freddy v jason is to make up for it i couldnt say but it looks to come close to be better than the origanal -lets face it it shouldnt be hard.so if you wanna scare watch the halloween series that'll scare ya it did me and the sequels arent dissapointing either except a dodgy no.3 but halloween resurrection is the most recent and totally livves up to john carpentwers origanal
Rating: Summary: Best Box Sets Ever Review: I recently purchased the NOES Box Set at Walmart, payed about $70 for it, and I have yet to crack the seal on this baby, but I can already tell just by reading all the features & extras that this DVD has to offer, the $70 I paid is a bargin. When I first saw the DVD set it was $100 and I wanted it bad, I mean it just blew me away, but at the time I couldn't afford, now that I've purchased it, I am thrilled. I thought when I got The Godfather DVD Set 2 years ago it was best ever, well this might just topple that, so for all you horror nuts & NOES fans if you don't have this DVD box set, get it! It's worth every penny, in my opinion. -MMF
Rating: Summary: Great horror collection. Review: I just ordered this box set, and can't wait for it to come in the mail tomorrow. I have seen all movies previously, and love each one for different reasons. Nightmare on Elm Street 1: This is a great movie. Though like others have said, I wish it had more Freddy in it. He was truely a scary figure in this film. This was also my first time seeing Johnny Depp in a movie, and it's obvious his death scene is the most memorable. Nightmare on Elm Street 2: This nightmare sorta through me off track. Instead of him being in dreams, he seems to be more like the devil and invade peoples bodies. While this film is probably the worst of the series, it's still a good watch. For me, the scariest scene is towards the begining when Freddy takes over the school bus of children. Nightmare on Elm Street 3: I remember renting this movie over and over. While some parts in this movie were rather comical, other parts are extremely frightening. I think it's scary because these children are locked up in a mental ward, and are completely useless. No one believes them because of the situation they're in. I wish Patricia would have stayed for the 4th installment. Nightmare on Elm Street 4: This movie would have been much better if it had kept Patricia. But the other girl did a good job at being killed none the less. I didn't really enjoy watching Freddy in a classroom full of bright light. I think that's when he starts being comical. He's much better and scarier in dark places. Still, this movie was good, and introduced us to Alice, the star of the 5th nightmare. Nightmare on Elm Street 5: Despite what other reviewers have said, I love this instalment of the series. The idea that Freddy would invade an unborn childs mind in order to kill his mother is beyond genius. I also love how you really get an idea of who Freddy was before becoming this monster. You meet his mother, and learn her horrible story and Freddys unfortunante conception. Freddys Dead: This movie was okay. It goes into more detail about how Freddy became who he is. This had to be the funniest Nightmare yet. I don't know which was funnier: Freddy playing video games, Roseanne & Tom Arnold being thrown in, or Johnny Depp making a camio after he was killed off the original nightmare. Either way, this film is great because it lets you know Freddy, and almost makes you feel sorry for him. You also get introduced to those little pesky dream things that took over Freddys body. Wes Cravens New Nightmare: I loved this film. It did give Freddy a 'real' feel. I thought it was genius for Wes Craven himself to be in the film. Robert England played himself as well. The only complaint I have with this movie is how they made Freddy look. The new and improved Freddy for the 90's isn't even that scary looking. He looks like he has muscle exposed on his face instead of being burnt, and his new high tech glove reminds me of the terminator. Also, his clothes have changed. He looks like he's wearing Gucci instead of the same 1970's clothes he had on when he was burnt. I suggest if they make anymore Freddy movies, they go back to the leather glove, burnt body, and 70's apparell. In many ways, I wish this box set wasn't released untill they were finished making Freddy movies. Then I wouldn't have to buy an extra movie that won't fit in the box in January. I haven't seen Freddy VS Jason yet, but I hope he isn't the same freddy we seen in the new nightmare. Overall, the Nightmare On Elm Street series is a great set for anyone who loves horror films with a twist.
Rating: Summary: Nightmare Collection Review: As an owner of this collection and many other movies found on the Boogeymen DVD, I have come to find many flaws and errors about this collection but have come to charish it as well. The 8th disc has a game which is said to have an alternate ending but is very hard to unlock even when you use the 20 password. In closing I would suggest, if you are a heavy collector like myself, buying the Scream, Friday the 13th, and Halloween collection.

Rating: Summary: The best horror series ever Review: Freddy Krueger is the most funniest maniac that deserved his own boxset of these movies Reviews of all 7 movies: Nightmare on Elm Street:The most surreal movie ever,Freddy scares teens in their dreams.*** Nightmare on Elm Street 2:Freddy's Revenge:The worst of the series,Freddy acts more as Satan because he possesses the teen.* Nightmare on Elm Street 3:The Dream Warriors:Btter than 2,Lots of special effects,Freddy acts scary and funnier.**1\2 Nightmare on Elm Street 4:The Dream Master:The 1st best, cool special effects.***** Nightmare on Elm Street 5:The Dream Child:The 2nd best, the only problem was the DVD of this version was R-rated instead of the unrated VHS version because two scenes were toned down like the teen on the motorcycle gets his face ripped off and a needle comes on stabs his back and a girl's stomach gets cut open and Freddy feeds her own livers.***** Freddy's Dead:The Final Nightmare:The 3rd best, lots of special effects.*** Wes Craven's New Nightmare:The best horror movie of the 90s since Scream,Freddy returns in this darker chapter.*****
