Summary: Been great for me
Review: I admit I was a bit leary after reading the reviews here. But with the features I wanted (video/audio in (for grandkids battery video games to use in the car), VCD, MP3 and JPG)plus a nice case I had to try this. Sooo I used it a lot in the first two weeks (daily one or more times). Used with battery and with AC. I recommend reading battery info at Cyberhomes web site, you cannot leave the battery in this unit for more than a day as it does drain because it powers the unit all the time even if it appears to be off (it powers the infrared receiver waiting for you to use the remote). -Read about Li-Ion batteries charging and discharging- You also need to remove the battery when using AC or Car adapter (they could have done a better job electronically here). Anyway, The picture is very good, even with having to adjust it's LCD mode for a regular TV picture as opposed to Wide Screen. Using the unit on battery and an external monitor/TV I got 3+ hours. Yes, I compared it to several other players, kept coming back to this ones abilities. My take, try one out, check reviews at other sites, if it breaks in the first couple weeks take it back to Target.

Summary: Ok for the price - battery (life) is a disaster
Review: I bought this device this summer when I was on a vacation trip in the US, especailly for my 2 year old son so I can keep him entertained on the transatlantic flight back to Europe. As these things are cheaper in the US (compared to the Euro-currency) I thought it is no big risk if I buy one under 200$ as I can not return it here once I am back home. So my expectations were not high either as if I would buy a brand name device also at a higher price. One thing however I should have better paid attention to is the handling of the battery. Due to a major 'technical design flaw' you cannot shut off the device completely - you really have to remove the battery physically otherwise it remains in a standby mode and draws power from the battery up to a point where you cannot recharge it anymore. This happened to mine - so now I can run it only on 110 V (here 220 V) or with the car-adapter. But otherwise it works quite well, can also read my self-burned VideoCD (VCD and SVCD). Also a very good feature for someone from Europe: it can be switched also to PAL-TV (the norm for TV here, in the US it is NTSC) and in the menue you can also change the region-code so I can watch the European region-code-2 DVDs here too (to change the region code is an undocumented menue feature and you can find out how to do that that on various internet-forums). Anyway it fulfills its purposes - works fine in the car - and for 200 $ I didn't expect any high-quality features. I give it an average rating of 3 stars - if the battery worked properly it would be 4 stars.

Summary: Battery Charger does not work
Review: I bought this for my 19 month old daughter for car rides. I have had it less than a week and it will not charge. It works fine for car rides with the adapter and when plugged in but will not charge the battery or work without being attached to a power source. Not too portable. I am returning this to Walmart tomorrow. Buyers beware-price looks good but you are not going to get a lot of use out of it. Also gets very hot when plugged in!

Review: I bought this player and had to return it because the screen went blank (as others have reported). Bought a replacement and the screen was okay but the battery went dead (as others reported). Emailed support and got a response in less than 48 hours. Within a week they sent me a battery conditioner that charges the battery even after it gets discharged from leaving it in the player. Unfortunately you can't leave the battery in the player during long periods of non use. I've read most of the complaints and am lucky that I wasn't as unfortunate as some of the others. Its not the best product, but I certainly am enjoying it and have had success with support. The sound and picture are crisp and clear and all the accessories that it comes with really can't be beat. Summary: Beware
Review: I bought this unit 3 days ago and sorry I did. it seems that it has a battery problem. I came home and charged the battery for 4 hours everything looked good. I watched a part of a movie and then put it away removing the battery as requested so i came back today and put the battery back in and turned it on and nothing I thought well maybe the battery just needs a charge. wrong again it seems there have been a few things written about this. At this point i have emailed them hoping they have a fix for this. I will update you.

Review: I have returned two of these players in the past 2 weeks....Buy another brand. I was told by several store employees that Cyberhome DVD players were being returned frequently. HA! There was one in the return buggy ahead of mine.
Don't waste your time on this player.

Summary: Many problems!
Review: I plugged it in and charged the battery, removed the battery after full charge and put the machine away for our trip.
We watched 1 movie on it and the second movie had trouble getting started. That night I could not get it working at all in the hotel. It seems that the battery would not hold even a little charge and when it was plugged in the machine could not find the menu section of any disk. After some struggling I got it started again and it would only run for about 20 minutes at a time. Needless to say, I was happy to return it. (The battery never did recover even after several recharge attempts)

Summary: Great buy for the money!
Review: I purchased this unit for my wife and it has been a great DVD player. You just can't beat the options you get for the money. It plays DVD-R, DVD+R, MP3 and other stuff. It also has progressive scan. There are no other units like it available for close to this price. The speakers are efficiant; not ear pounding, but decent. You can plug it into the TV so you don't have to use the small screen. It comes with a bag and a remote! I am very pleased with how it plays. There are some down parts to it like having to remove the battery when not using so it won't die from not using the unit. If you have a loud car you probably won't be able to hear the speakers, but hey that's why they make splitters so everyone can have their own head set. Have had no problems with the unit so far and it's not made entirely of cheap plastic. A+

Review: I was very happy when I got this dvd player home pluged is in and the player worked just fine but when it made to the car It worked for couple seconds you can hear the sound but no picture when i final got it to work it for 15minute then no picture again and it was like that for rest of the night I end up taking it for another but the store did not have any more so got another brand but i will say this it great price and it perfect for a small child on a road trip if you can get it to work right

Summary: Terrible! - Beware!
Review: It's sad, really. I liked the player. It had a lot of features for the price. Got it home and charged it up. About a week later, went to play it off the battery. Nothing. Tried recharging. Nothing. Contacted the company via email. Waited one week with no response. Packed the unit up and returned it. Bought a different brand I'm much happier with. Will never buy another CyberHome product, no matter what the price or features. Terrible support. The stereotypical cheap overseas product. Buy one from a known manufacturer with a good reputatuion.
