Summary: Too new, too expensive, what's the point?
Review: Neat unit... but for $1000 you're halfway (or more) to a full-on laptop computer with DVD-ROM and FAR more functionality and power! This is just too expensive for a DVD-ROM and itty-bitty screen. The value isn't there. Spend the money on a laptop computer or, if you have one, buy a DVD-ROM drive. You'll thank yourself in the morning. This unit will be worth $100 or less in a year or two... ouch!

Summary: Amazing Gadget
Review: Although I have the older version of this machine, which is slightly more bulky, especially with the battery pack, since buying this in February this year, I have used it to death. The picture quality is excellent, sound quality is great (Through the headphones), and as you can plug it into a TV, it can act as your main DVD player. I work in amsterdam, but as I live in england, I get to use it on the plane every weekend, and on the bus to and from work every day. About the only anoying thing, is that whenever people see it, they keep asking questions when I am trying to watch a film. I would most definitely reccomend this, if you are a gadget freak, show off, or just enjoy watching films on the move.

Summary: Unbelievable value, incredible machine, I love it!!
Review: I first saw this unit in a retail store and was amazed by its abilities. However, the $1000 price tag didn't look too good for a student's budget. However, I knew i could get a better deal, and in fact i did. Within a week, I won an auction for $722 including shipping and received the unit flawlessly the next week. It's the absolute best thing i've ever spent my money on. I don't need my old panasonic a-110 dvd player anymore so i sold that one. Now I have a player that i can bring with me anywhere, including England, where I am for a semester of study abroad. I bring it with me on the plane, train, bus, cab, and even around campus to pass time with a wide selection of movies. I have become the hit of the school with groups of up to 5 of us gathering around the small screen to watch a movie. It's extremely versatile for viewing angles from the sides, much better than any lap top I've seen. This has everything I could ever want. I love it.

Summary: The best of both worlds...
Review: I bought this primarily to keep my companions occupied on the trip from my Long Island home to my beach house on the Eastern Shore of Delaware. I am quite pleased with the unit and I can easily hook it up to my big screen TV in a flash. I enjoy it more than a laptop since its footprint is quite small. The battery life is adequate and the sound quality with headphones is outstanding.

Summary: WOW!!!
Review: What a neat little deal. With the headphones, the sound is maximum real. The screen resolution is fabulous. Almost looks 3D. This baby goes wherever I do. Anybody sitting on the fence? jump on in. You won't regret it. It's FAR better than my laptop with DVD drive. Smaller. gee. you won't believe how light this unit is. I would not trade it in for anything.

Summary: Finally I can watch movies!.........Portably!
Review: I don't have the L-50 but the newer to come out, the L-10. They say it's better, but all I can see is a nicer design. The only problems I see is that the bottom of it gets really hot! It worries me that it's going to explode! The battery is about one third the size of the player itself which makes the DVD Player not as portable as I had hoped, but it's still better than a laptop! I bought mine from a catalog that gave me 15% off so I only paid (with tax and all)$926 and some change. I took it to the doctors office the other day where I had to wait a half an hour and wasn't bored at all!

Summary: Great for travel, your laptop is to big on a plane!!!
Review: I also workout with this unit on a stairmaster at the gym. Try that with a laptop... Have the laptop for business, and still carry th portable DVD due to it's smaller footprint!

Summary: AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!
Review: This Panasonic DVD player only has two weaknesses. And only ofthem is a problem. The weaknesses are 1) The price-If you have themoney You will not regret it. 2) gets warm. <--Not really a problem. Sound is nice, especially through the headphones. The screen is so nice you will forget that it's small it will seem huge, if you are watching an interesting movie. I would recommend it to anyone. Thanks Panasonic--Great product, the Best Toy on the market regarding DVD's today.

Summary: A Great Entertainment Inovation
Review: This portable Dvd player is excellent for people who are constantly travelling and need something to occupy their time. The DVD player offers excellent sound for such tiny speakers and the viewable image is great. The best part of this portable player is that you can easily hook it up to your existing TV. The image and sound come out crisp and clear, something you don't really get with VHS tapes. All in all the Panasonic portable DVD is an excellent buy for those who can afford it. Congradulations to everyone at Panasonic.
