Rating: Summary: Awesome Review: The Panasonic DVD-L50 is a must for gadget guru's. The picture is a little small but sharp. It is perfect for use as a home DVD player and a portable player that plays DVD's, video CD's, and music CD's. This thing is just plain AWESOME!
Rating: Summary: Palm? Of the human hand? No way!!! Review: I own this player and have been delighted with the freedom of watching movies anywhere. I agree with a previous reviewer who wrote about the inadequacies of the earphone jack as being to low in power and volume, but generally this is a great machine. But, PLEASE, to claim you can hold it in your palm? Maybe if you want an extended hospital stay for 3rd degree burns! The bottom of this machine heats up, oven-like, and is a hazard, so please be careful where you put it. Defenitely NOT on the palm of your hand.
Rating: Summary: Picture a little small and price a little high Review: Otherwise very good - Never tested limits of the battery - have used on AC generally - works very well, pricey - I would wait for one more generation if too expensive
Rating: Summary: A Dream Machine That Fits In Your Hand Review: Panasonics L50 is first rate. I have seen laptops with DVD and they don't even compare. The picture is sharp and smooth. The battery lasts well over 2 hours and can go over 4 when you are connected to a regular tv with the display turned off. The remote is the size of a credit card and gives you complete control over the unit. The two small stereo speakers will surprise you with the sound they deliver. I plugged my B&O headphones into this little jewel and thought I had a front row seat. I give this unit a Big thumbs up. A must have for any movie buff who wants the best and he wants it in the palm of his hand.
Rating: Summary: Great product but not enough Sound Review: I have had my portable DVD for about a year and a half now without one problem. This is a great product if you are a constant traveller as I am. This is also a terrific product if you have to travel with kids. The only downside of this product is that the little speakers and even when you use the headphones the volume just is not there. Other than the sound this is a great product.
Rating: Summary: Can't beat it for now. Review: I'm sure that in the near future, both Panasonic and others will improve the technology (better and smaller) but for right now, if you want to watch a DVD while sitting on an airport bench, this is the player. I have had my player for 3 months and I am very happy with it. The battery is a little awkward and 3 hours is barely a movie these days, but I am impressed with the feature set. Once ALL the hotels provide TVs with RCA and/or S-Video inputs this will be the only travel companiion you'll need.
Rating: Summary: Expensive . . . but worth it! Review: If you're a technophile or a gadget-lover, this device is for you!Price-wise, it's reasonable. Consider an average price of $300 for a standard DVD player, $600 for the 5" TFT active matrix (the best available; compare notebook prices with or without TFT), and that leaves only $100 for the portability . . . a VERY reasonable price. It inlcude the cables you'd need to hook it up to either your VCR or TV with RCA jacks, and they work for INPUT at well as OUTPUT. Want to watch TV without waking anybody up? Put your TV or VCR output into this little darling and plug in your headphones!
Rating: Summary: Absolutely great! Review: DVD-L50? Go buy it! It is a toy, a very expensive toy, but what a great piece of toy! Great graphics, buggy sound and cool!
Rating: Summary: I enjoy using this product Review: If you have any second thougths about buying this product, don't buy it. I have never encountered any problems with this product. I think it's great. I already expected that it overheats just like some electronic gadgets out there. Who would want to watch a movie more than 3 hours anyway? Couch potatoes!
Rating: Summary: It costs $700 for the novelty of portability?!? Review: The panasonic home unit is $299 on this site and the portable dvd is $999 -- so you are saying that something in this little bitty unit is worth $700 more than the home unit?!? It seems that the novelty of portability cost 3 times that of a home unit --- IT SHOULDNT! Shoppers beware -- this pricing schema is still in its novelty phase in its growth cycle. Most people are being caught up on impulse shopping in regards to this product (i know i had my credit card pulled out until i read the users comments). It seems to be a great product (i would buy it for no more than $450) but if you are spending a 'grip' -- you should go with a computer. At least then youll get more bang for your buck. According to the buyers here, there seems to be too many problems with this unit right now -- main one being overheating, low battery life, and depixelization after long period of use. Thank goodness for these reviews Thanks Amazon
