Summary: great little toy
Review: After a disastrous purchase of the Audiovox 1800, I went back and started over. I settled on the LV70 and I won't look back. Light weight even with the battery and good picture and sound. The open and close for the disk is a little flimsy and the manual is a little difficult to follow, but overall, a great toy!

Summary: great product
Review: After pricing and researching many models I think the Panasonic LV70 is well worth the price. The picture is great under all light conditions and the sound is good for these type of players. The reason I did not give it 5 stars was even though it is built well, some of the parts are very delicate and I hope this will not be a problem after alot of use.

Summary: great product but...
Review: dvd-lv70 is a great product. picture quality, sound, controls awesome. The only thing that bothered me was the battery. It does not seem to hold its charge. I charged it overnight, went to the airport, got on the plane, about an hour into the movie low battery ,dvd shuts off. It has done this several times, a defect? unknown. Recommend charging battery just prior to long stand alone usage.

Summary: Excellent, the best must-have and entertaining electronic
Review: Hi, I am 14 years old. When I first ordered the LV70 I wasn't completely sure of what kind of quality the product had. Anyway, I've always trusted panasonic and when it arrived, I saw it and it was awesome. It is really portable, that is what I wanted. I travel a lot and I sometimes enjoy watching dvds in the car or the plane, where there may be a movie you don't like and prefer to put my own movie, and it is so better than to be carrying a heavy laptop everywhere if the only thing you carry it for, is to watch movies, which is my case. The sound is so cool and everybody near it can hear it, although with headphones is great too. It is really easy to understand how to work it. I recommend buying a case for it, the panasonic case is great for this model. The battery is so long lasting, most portable dvd models have a really short battery life and they are big and heavy, this battery can last from 5 to 8 hours depending on the setting you have the screen on.You can watch a movie from multiple angles and the picture quality is the best. I loved it. It was cheap too. The only inconvinient is that it doesn't come with an adaptor for the car, and the panasonic car adaptor is very expensive, that's why I gave it the 4 stars. But overall, what I can say from this product, is that it is Excellent, the best must-have and entertaining electronic.

Summary: Great DVD Player!!
Review: I bought the Panasonic LV70 for my husband. He loves it! The picture is clear and the sound is great. It works great for road trips or just watching a DVD in bed. The only problem is when you put in or take out a DVD, it doesn't always close. But that is a small problem. I would highly recommend this portable DVD player.

Summary: Great on Trips!
Review: I bought this for a school trip to Washington DC earlier this year, and believe me, it was a very wise investment! While everyone else is forced to watch one scelection on the bus, I had my own personal theater with this wonderful portable DVD player. It's battery was extremely long lasting, over 8 hours, which allows you to view around three full movies before the battery dies. Black and White DVDs make the battery last even longer. An example is the Judy Garland Show DVDs.

I've used this on all my road trips, and it makes the hours just melt away. Also, this would be perfect to use on an airplane, while everyone else watches the in-filght movie, you have the choice of any in your personal collection.

This battery in this player also has the ability to be recharged over three hundred times, which should last for well over a year or longer before another should need to be purchased.

This player is wonderful, and is a great buy for the price! If your looking for a portable DVD player for trips or even short excursions, this is a perfect choice!

Summary: Excellent machine -- Not just a gadget!
Review: I bought this for traveling with my little girl when she was 2. (She is now 3 and a half.) Technically, the picture is great. So is the sound from either the speakers or headphones (though if you do a lot of plane travel, noise cancelling headphones are a great idea). The player has been trouble free in 18 months of weekly use.

The added portablility (compared to VHS players) means it's the only option in restaraunts and on planes. We've used it on car trips, plane trips, in restaraunts, we hook it up as a DVD player for our second TV, I hook it up to hotel TVs (if they have a video input jack -- about 50% do), my wife took it to the hospital (to have #2), and I even got to take it on plane trip for myself!

Plop in a DVD and you're much more engaged than a book. Same with kids. We've gone from having to rush through a quick entree-only meal to being able to enjoy a drink, appetizer, entree, desert, AND waiting for the check. Our car travel time has gone from 3 hours (2 hour nap, 1 hour awake) to 4 or 5 (I haven't reached the upper limit yet!). With 5 hours of battery life, there's the potential for 7 hours. If you calculate the savings in motel rooms, this should pay for itself in about 5 years. But throw in the ability to relax, be entertained, have a second DVD player... and it's worth the investment. The only down side is that this will invite conversations from every busperson and waiter in your restaraunt!

Summary: great design, but the Picture Quality is no good!
Review: I cannot for the life of me understand why everybody praises ths LV70's picture quality.. It's completely mediocre. On top of not being a progressive scan player, the LV70 doesn't have nearly enough pixels to show the details. When watching from up close, prepare to get frustrated when seeing coffee cups on tables made out of blocks of pixels. You can actually count each individual one. Are people's standards really this low?

Summary: A "must have" if you travel
Review: I finally convinced myself that it was worth it to purchase a portable DVD player. I now do not see how I have lived without it for so long. I average 2 - 3 plane flights each week and this unit, combined with my Bose noise cancelling headsets is the first thing I pack. This unit is very easy to set-up and use. The unit is large enough for viewing, but small enough for easy travel. Using a dual headphone jack allows viewing by 2 people. The battery easily provides 4 - 5 hours of play time. A previous review stated the picture quality was poor. This is definitely not the case with my unit. The picture is crisp and clear and you cannot count the pixels on the screen. This unit is highly recommended, especially for anyone who travels on a regular basis.

Summary: Excellent, the best must-have and entertaining electronic
Review: I originally attempted to buy a CyberHome portable dvd player from HSN. Because of a shipping snafu I missed out and was terribly disappointed. However, I wanted a reliable portable dvd player so I did my homework and chose the Panasonic-LV70. It was a little pricey for me (...) but I bought it anyway. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE the portability, dependability, quality, etc. I had to purchase the headphones and a car adaptor (Cyberhome includes these items with their model) but from comparing the customer reviews of both units, and from what I now know firsthand, I sure made the right decision.
