Summary: Frankenhooker (1990) d: Henenlotter, Frank
Review: "Bio-electrotechnician" Jeffrey Franken's [James Lorinz] fiancé [ex-Penthouse model Patty Mullen] is killed in a tragic lawn mower accident, luckily enough Jeffrey manages to salvage a few key body parts. In order to replace his girlfriend, the budding scientist decides to place her head on the various body parts of unfortunate streetwalkers in this low budget splat-stick. Voila! A black comedy parody of Frankenstein (1931) in the Re-Animator (1985) vein from the writer-director Frank Henenlotter, coming after Basket Case (1981) and Brain Damage (1987). Frankenhooker ends up running amok on the streets turning tricks that literally make people's heads spin. Has Jeffery rebuilt his love, or has he created a monster. There's nudity, soft-core sex, violence, profanity, nudity, and gore. What more do you want? Extras on the DVD could have used a little more work, but the price was very reasonable.

Summary: this is the 3rd most classic camp film to date!!!!
Review: #1 rocky horror picture show #2 attack of the killer tomatoes Finally we come to one of the funniest horror(whore?) movies of all time. the acting is terrible!, but you must appreciate it for the low, low budget they had. from the begining, the main character is poking at a brain with a big eyeball in it, and his girlfriend just goes along with everyday life. it wonderful. all the action starts when she gets run over by the lawnmower that her boyfriend made for her father as a birthday present. the boyfriend decides to "collect" hookers with the right body parts to form a new girlfriend. he invents a "super-crack" to kill them,

----one of the greatest plot elements in any movie i have ever seen---EVER!!

Summary: Great trashy movie, but...
Review: ...wasn't this supposed to be UNRATED? The only version of this available on DVD on Region 1 is R-rated ... Granted, from what I understand, the difference is just a matter of a little more nudity. But still, aren't DVDs supposed to be more definitive than this? Not to mention the disappointing lack of any real extras on this disc. Oh well. There's supposedly an unrated PAL DVD out there, which is nice if you happen to have a PAL-compatible player. Maybe someday a DVD company that actually knows what it's doing will release this in its full uncut glory, with some extras to talk about.

Summary: Jerzy boiz
Review: Admittedly, I LOVE cheesy, low budget films with little plot, acting or script. If I can see that a bunch of friends got together, drank beer - or what ever - and got it on film: thats all the criteria nessacary to hook my attention.

Frankenhooker goes up and beyond every one of my basic points of interest. There is a script which is just simple and a lot of fun, when put in the right hands.

If you and your friends enjoy sitting around watching movies, drinking beer and shouting at the television screen, while keeping pace with the film: Frankenhooker is just the ticket

Summary: I've got to own this.
Review: Considering the low special-effects budget and the downright awful/funny plot, this movie was really and truly well done. The dialogue was hilarious, and the violence more amusing than disgusting or scary. I particularly enjoyed the lawnmower scene in the beginning. The movie is worth buying even for that alone. I don't think that anyone involved with the making of this film was aiming for an Oscar (it was, after all, about a man bringing his fiancee back to life with the bodies of dead crack addict hookers)but the plot didn't leave any noticeable loose ends and it was rolling-on-the-floor funny. I consider it an 89 minutes well spent.

Summary: Frankenhooker, A Low-Budget Classic!
Review: Frankenhooker, was the low-budget horror/comedy classic of the 80's. Adam Elkin who plays the kid selling the drugs was excellent and should have had a bigger part. Recommend to all who enjoy the cheesy 80's horror genre.

Summary: Campy but a bit dull
Review: I agree that the acting is pretty bad. I also agree that there is something compelling about in this little low budget film. Its a little gory but the killing never seems real, so it is kind of funny. My biggest complaint is the the best character in the film is Frankenhooker (the girl frankenstein). My feeling is that she should have been the focus of the film, not her boyfriend (the scientist type guy). The few scenes where she goes on her adventures through the streets should have been the body of the film. Frankenhooker is still pretty despite being just put together. And she is kind of funny making faces and walking through town and greeting people on the streets(although this was over done a little). I think there should have been more time seeing how people react to her. More adventures. More Johns that she tries to get involved with. The film drags at several points when she is not in the picture. Its worth a look if you like camp. You may be able find a used copy and one of those sites (like at half, com) if no new copies are available.

Review: I have been looking for this movie forever!!! Why don't they distribute it on VHS? Now I need to go out and buy DVD. Damn Technology. Totally hillarious though. Seen it years ago and threw my only copy out the window when I got into a fight with my boyfriend at the time. Stupid stupid me. Alas, it exists still!!! yea!! woo hoo. Super-crack will do the trick :)
