Summary: Bore Fest By Strangers to The Genre
Review: The simple fact that "Lucky" won best feature at the NYC Horror Film Festival makes me seriously question the standards of the NYCHFF, and on a wider scale, the state of indie horror in general based on other accolades this film has received. Lucky is a bore fest! It's not scary to say the least, relies on easy target taboos like necrophilia and murder to try and shock it's viewers. Watch "Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer" if you want a real horrific character study. It's not terribly funny either, falling somewhere in that nether limbo region that mainly just wastes the viewers time. It's painfully obvious from the get go that the pathetic, unlikable main character's inner warped psyche is what we, the poor viewers are privy to see. In other words, the old trick that "this whole film was in the main character's mind/dream/fantasy-land from the beginning is a tired and obvious one. One really can't sympathize with the main character either. The first person narration goes on and on and on with the same depressed, juvenile drivel of a guy who is frustrated with his pointless life and nowhere career. He questions his love life, his work, his dreams, and his reality all with the over dramatic musings of a recently dumped college drama major getting stoned.

The people who made "Lucky" obviously arn't big horror film fanatics, and it shows. The screenwriter won an Emmy for a Whinney the Pooh project if that tells you anything. The one redeeming factor of this film is that the acting, videography, editing, and lighting is well rounded throughout. The dog did a good job sitting around looking weird. (The dog was also featured in "Dude, Where's My Car" getting stoned..if that tells you anything.) The actor who plays the unsympathetic main character is incredibly good, it's just a shame at what he had to work with. Rent don't buy, unless you are friends with anyone who worked on this thing.
ps. Oh yeah, it was shot on DV...feels cheap, looks cheap, is cheap.

Summary: What is going on?!
Review: This is a seriously twisted work. It is one heck of a dark comedy that is bound to make those of us with the toughest of stomachs feel a bit queasy in parts. You've all read the other synopsis', so I won't recreate the wheel. Rent only if you can handle some grossness.

Review: This movie was just sitting on the new release shelf at blockbuster and I thought to myself "why not a serial killer talking dog sounds awesome." WELL I couldn't have been more worng. The movie central theme is having sex with dead people. This just isnt my cup of tea. The other reviewers are just plain retarted if they think this movie should get more then one star. I know that sounds harsh but I want my money back from blockbuster. The movie itself is just rambling speeches about life and infinity or something to that extent, I lost interest real quick. The most memorable part of this [not good] of a movie would have to be the part where he proceeds to choke wendy over and over again while she is passed out he has his way with her limp body. Let me tell ya that secne will be with forever, it ruled, (...) you sick freak the whole movie was twisted and just worng. The cover of the DVD box is cool looking though the dog named lucky has red eyes and a axe. I know this movie is a small independent film but Manos Hands of Fate is like a masterpiece compared to this garbage.

Summary: Pick a movie any movie...just not this one...
Review: WTF?! Get ready to get mad really fast for about the first half of this movie...but then it kinda turns into a fair( and I use fair very lightly) psychological thriller. Ok for an underground film with people who obviously used just a regular digital camera of some sort...who knows the opinion is all yours.
