Summary: Rather boring
Review: Note-the following review contains some plot spoilers,so read carefully.

This movie is OK,but it could've been soooo much better. Now to be fair, this got the whole series started, but the lack of Jason will most likely bore you.The movie is rather boring at first, but halfway,it gets interesting.Jack gets an arrow shoved through his neck,Marcie gets axed in the face and all hell breaks loose. However, the plot is much too slow. The first time I saw this I almost fell asleep.I was thinking "this movie's a waste of time".I rented it again and thought it was OK. The last 15 minutes of the film are very intense and the ending is very eerie. The acting is OK,the plot decent, but where the film really shines in the gore department.Throat slashings and decaptations galore are one of the three best features of the film (the last fifteen minutes and the ending being the others.) Tom Savini did a brilliant job.Harry Manfredini's score is pretty eerie too. However, despite gore galore, lots of nudity and a cool ending, the film just isn't that exciting. If you're a big time gore hound and a Halloween fan,you might like it.It isn't the Halloween "rip-off" that people say it is.But if you want to see a better version of this film,I suggest you rent Part 2.It took almost everything that was wrong with this and improved it.I also highly recommend you check out Parts 4 and 6 (the best chapters of the series by the way.) Don't get me wrong, this movie's not bad,but it's too slow and uneventful to be really interesting. Rated R for gruesome horror violence and an explicit sex scene.

Summary: What's all the hype about?
Review: This must have been an 80's thing, because FRIDAY THE 13th isn't that great compared to other movies. Another thing that made me mad was Betsy Palmer (Pamela Voorhees) was made the 'big star' of the film, and she was only in the last 10-20 minutes! Mrs. Voorhees was one of my favorite killers of the horror genre, so I have to give F13 some credit :)

Summary: a great horror film
Review: I don't think this should be rated r. I saw this when I was 11. Well, some parts should be rated r but it wasnt that gruesome just surprising. Though not a good plot it will keep you on your seat and watch out for the ending.

Summary: Fridays will never be the same again!
Review: This is one of my fave horror movies. This movie delivers chilling surroundings, music and eerie murders. This movie has the key elements of a great horror movie. It is watchable over and over again. A movie that will remain a classic forever.

Summary: Good slasher film in the vein of Halloween
Review: I really don't understand why so many people think this is a rip-off of Halloween. It has barely any similarities and there is a ton of stuff that seperates it-it's loaded with extreme violence and gore galore and has some of the most gruesome deaths EVER in film history. You never truly know who the killer is until the very end and there's a ton of other stuff. This is quite enjoyable. The cast at the time indeed was a bunch of nobodies, but they seem to pull off above-average acting.Harry Manfredini's creepy music score blends in perfectly with the dark atmosphere and Tom Savini's make-up FX are brilliant. Now, the film does indeed have flaws, the biggest being the annoying first-person view because you always know where the killer is and it totally ruins the suspense.Other flaws are the horribly grainy photography and the somewhat slow-paced plot.Still,it's a respectable and pretty enjoyable film that horror fans should enjoy.A must for hardcore gore fans and those who enjoyed Halloween. It's kinda scary but as I said before- the suspense is ruined by the first-person view. I still recommend it despite the FPS view, grainy photography and somewhat slow plot that drop it two stars, and the sequels, for the most part, are much scarier and better.Rated R-contains gruesome violence and a scene of strong sexuality.

Summary: Classic Movie
Review: I've watched FRIDAY THE 13TH and I really enjoyed the movie considering it came out in 1980.(I was just starting junior high when it came out) I have been a big fan of JASON (I know he wasn't in the first one except a flashback as a child) and I've been waiting forever for the rumored FREDDY VS JASON movie. I have the entire collection of FRIDAY THE 13TH and NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET MOVIES plus many other horror movies. Any way check out the movie.

Summary: Worthy effort
Review: I personally disagree that this film is a rip-off of Halloween(the only real Halloween rip-off would the horrid "Jason Goes To Hell-The Final Friday"). I found the film to be quite enjoyable.Tom Savini"s make-upFX are EXTREMELY cool and are a reason alone to watch this(Jack"s death and Ms.Voorhees demise are very cool to look at,as is Marcie"s death and perhaps Annie). The film falls a bit low on the scare factor, mainly because of the first-person view(it"s practically not scary at all that way!)The scariest scene is with- out a doubt when Jason pulls alice under the water. He looks so UGLY!(not as gross as in parts 4,7 and 8,but pretty close.)Overall,I think the film is enjoyable and a worthy addition to the world of horror.Oh,and one more thing-BE SURE to check out the make-upFX by Tom Savini. They seriou- sly rock! Rated R-contains gruesome violence and strong nudity.

Rating: 2 stars
Summary: C-R-A-P
Review: Fun if you're in the mood for a few cheap thrills(and lame ones at that),but other than that it is worthless.A blatant knock off of John Carpenter's seminal classic "Halloween",but lacking it's vision, and style. If you've seen this one, you've seen ALL of the F-13 movies!
