Rating: Summary: Awesome. Review: Though it is great in its horrific images and thoughts, it did take its sweet little time in getting to the point. The ending may not suite everybody. This movie scared me crapless.
Rating: Summary: It`s the worst movie ever made! Review: I don`t understand why the goverment in my country tried to get it banned. There were almost no blood or splatter , it was just another bad movie.
Rating: Summary: A MODERN CLASSIC Review: "Texas Chainsaw Massacre" is as shocking and gruesome as it's title suggest. First time director Tobe Hooper has an undisputed talent for creating mind numbing tension that explodes into extreme violence. "Texas Chainsaw Massacre" is a harrowingly effective horror film. Due to the low budget, it has a raw, gritty documentary feel to it. It's as if your watching actual footage tooken during a night of torture and mutilation. Tobe Hooper films the story with an unflinching brutality that will make you shutter. I feel it is more than approrpriate that ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY named "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre" as runner up for the all time scariest movie, second only to "The Exorcist"
Rating: Summary: Horrifying Review: Probably the best horror film ever made, next to HALLOWEEN. This supposedly true shocker is so intense and so real, that you can't help but hold your stomach and close your eyes. From the starting point, where you feel something will happen that you just can't help, to the conclusion, where you feel a sigh of relief as Burns jumps into the pickup truck, this film will scare you to death. And it's not intended for good ole scares, either.
Rating: Summary: TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE is a horror masterpiece. Review: Buy this movie, wait till your home alone, then stick it in your VCR and watch it late at night. And then you will understand the true meaning purpose of a horror movie. THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE is a shocking, disturbing rollercoster. It is so terrifying and absolutley eerie that you will look right past some of the amateur performances. With this film, co-writer/director Tobe Hooper created a whole genre of horror that inspired a countless number of imitators and three less than effective sequels. If you like TCM, it would be worth it to check out "Pieces" "Last House on the Left" "Motel Hell" and "Eaten Alive."
Rating: Summary: Welcome To The Slaughter House Review: This movie rules! I think a psychopathic family that kills people with chainsaws then eats them and makes them into furniture is cool.
Rating: Summary: The freakiest film i've ever seen Review: As a massive horror fan from the UK (where this film is banned) I had to wait many years to get this film and after all the hype and the expectations that i had built up I was half expecting to be dissapointed when I finally watched it...how wrong could I be? This film had me gripped instantly. The film builds up suspense like no other and is not ruined by almost commical deaths as are many other horrors. The film is gritty and raw, the visuals almost appear like somebody has just followed a bunch of real people around with a camcorder. The acting is brilliant especially when one of the characters is captured, she is completely hysterical and fear in her eyes is so realistic. This film is the freakiest i've ever seen and to say I enjoyed it seems kind of sick as the killings are so realistic and depraved, but theres no denying it, I loved it.
Rating: Summary: Awesome.... for the year that it was made Review: Texas Chainsaw Massacre is a very good movie... What really got me was the fact that it was based on a true story. TCM#1 was the best out of all of them. #4 was the Lamest of all of them...but opinions vary.
Rating: Summary: Watch a movie with the time it was made in mind Review: Of course the plot was silly, of course the characters now seem wooden, and of course the violence is now minimal. It seems this way because several hundred movies have done and redone the ideas presented in this film. This was a true ground breaking movie. Just about every violence based movie can thank this film for at least some portion of its existence. "Texas" and the original "Night of the Living Dead" (and of course Hammer) pushed the envelope of film. Making it possible for the modern horror film, as we know it today. So before you bash it to much you must first thank it. Without this film you could not enjoy the hack and slash stuff you now enjoy.
Rating: Summary: this movie wasthe best movie i ever saw Review: i think the first texas chainsaw massare was the best one they ever have its got the best bloody sinces i ever saw
