Summary: Overrated movie that was lackluster, uninvolving and stupid!
Review: I do not understand why so many people seemed to rate this movie so highly on the scary and dark side when in all reality it really was not even that long to begin with, and then you have a nut with a saw who is not very believable. There was NO gore and it was just sickly done. Really ridiculous! All the people I know who have watched REAL OCCULT AND HORROR FLICKS actually use REAL horror and atmosphere will say this movie is awful as well. WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY TO EVEN WATCH THIS MONSTROSITY!

Summary: This Movie Is The Most Disturbing Thing I've Ever Seen
Review: First off let me just say that this isn't any ordinary horror movie. Along with the Halloween, A Nightmare On Elm Street, Friday the 13th, and Hellraiser, this film doesn't fail to scare or disturb you just like the films I just named. I first saw this when I was 12 (I'm 14 now). I went to the mall and couldn't wait to buy it so I bought it. I was ready to get scared. When I got home I popped it into my VCR and I wasn't disappointed. I really got into the film. The film has a documentary style to it. It looks like it's really happening. The opening scene sent chills down my spine(I won't spoil the scene for people who haven't seen it). There are so many elements in this film that people would say "Oh my god, this could happen in my front yard" or something like that. It was loosely based on the killings of Ed Gein. Gunnar Hannsen was awesome as Leatherface. And get this he was only 18 when he got the role. I haven't seen the DVD yet, but I'm sure to get a copy of it. I hear its really great. I recommend this for die-hard horror fans. This movie isn't for people who like bad sequels to good horror movies that have comedy mixed in with it or close-ups (you'll see). Like the TCM's sequels (THEY WERE AWFUL). So get out that chainsaw and have a freaky fun ride. See ya. 3/15/03

Summary: HA HA HA HA HA!
Review: I saw this movie when I was 12 its not scary nor that bloody or gory. If you want gore see the second one it is WAY more gory. But this one did have its moments that would give you a jolt. I heard it was based on a true story. But that is bull .... I liked it when frankin and the girl were bookin it down the wood to only have frankin cut in half. You can't see it well but it scared the hell out of me.

Summary: One scary film.
Review: This in my veiw is a piece of cinematic history. On such a small budget Tobe Hooper created the face of evil, a mask of human flesh. This goes down as one of the most disturbing and amazing pieces of film history... ever.

Summary: I don't understand the thrill of this
Review: Texas Chainsaw Massacre was for the 70's what Blair Witch Project was for the 90's. A low budget Hoax that did not prduce very good thrills and even less chills.

The idea behind Texas Chainsaw is that a group of teens are traveling across Texas when theypick up a hitchhiker who looks a little crazed. WHen he starts doing some strange things (Such as cutting himself with a razor) they throw him out. Later they come upon an abandoned house and while exploring they discover a cabin further down the road. This is where we meet LEather Face (who is dressed up as woman) and he immediatly dispatches of a number of them. In the end one girl survives his twisted family and as she tries to escape she is pursued by Leather Face and his kin.

This movie by today's standards is not very good. True when it gets towards the end it is relentless but so was Blair Witch. Unfortunatly with this movie the gore is lackluster, the acting is poor, and the whole thing led to an hour and a half of pure boredom. I shall pass on this one.

Summary: "You damn fool...you ruined the door!".
Review: After you've stopped screaming you'll start laughing.

I must say that as a horror film it IS the most horrific film I've ever seen: a young girl put on a meat-hook then forced to watch leatherface chop off her boyfriend's head!!!!????

However, the horror is only part of the film. The end sequence in the house is the FUNNIEST sequence in film history. This is all down to the genius that is leatherface. Simply put, apart from donning wig and make-up he also SQUAWKS like a pig AT THE SAME TIME as he is 'talking'!!!! Believe me when I say that I was on the floor laughing!!!! The over-dubbed squawks are sensational!

Taken as a horror film TCM has no rivals at all. IT IS the best horror film ever made. In fact, once you get over the initial shock of what you are seeing, the second half (need for repeated viewings) as well being horrifying, is absolutely hilarious. The commentary is awesome too, and, of course full of annecdotes.

The Best Horror + The Best Comedy = IT HAPPENED
A MUST PURCHASE.

Summary: TERRIFYING!!!
Review: The Texas Chainsaw Massacre has got to be one of THE SCARIEST movies that I've ever seen. This movie is about five friends who fall victim to an insane and cannibalistic "family", one of which is called "Leatherface" and wears a hideous mask and equips a chainsaw for murder. The movie's pace becomes really adreneline pumping and heart pounding when the movie's heroine, Sally, is chased down by Leatherface and is caught by the demented family and taken to their house. What follows you will just have to see for yourself! This movie is the reason why I will NEVER pick up a hitchhiker, knock on a stranger's door, or walk alone in the boonies. A very scary film.

Summary: TCM!
Review: I don't know if I reviewed this yet, but here it goes. This film is loosely based on the true crimes of Ed Gein (also a partial inspiration for Psycho), the original Jeffrey Dahmer, Texas Chainsaw Massacre follows a group of teenagers who pick up a hitchhiker and wind up in a backwoods horror chamber where they're held captive, tortured, chopped up, and impaled on meat hooks by a demented cannibalistic family, including a character known as Leatherface who maniacally wields one helluva chainsaw. This may be notorious for its title, but it's also a sensational, extremely influential, 1974 low-budget horror movie directed by Tobe Hooper. This is based on a true story, and is an extremely disturbing and scary movie. This isn't a slice and dice film, it has hardly any blood, so fans of Halloween and Psycho should appreciate this film. The movie's powerful sense of dread is heightened by its grainy, semi-documentary style--but it also has a wicked sense of humor (and not that camp, self-referential variety that became so tiresome in subsequent horror films of the '70s, '80s, and '90s). It ranks with Psycho, Halloween, and A Nightmare on Elm Street. Watch it alone, in the dark!

Summary: Look What Your Brother Did To That Door !!
Review: I heartily recommend that everyone who even remotely considers relocating to Texas view this documentary before doing so, to be aware of the sorts of folks and situations with which you will routinely have to deal (in addition to all the pollution and other horrible stuff) -- it will make you completely rethink your plans. If you don't want your life plagued by dull-witted screaming teens, country hick redneck crackers and, of course, chainsaw-weilding homicidal maniacs, then you will want to avoid the Lone Star State completely, and prevent yourself and your family from falling victim to the mayhem here. Oh sure, parts of this documentary were amusing ("Cost of electricity can drive a man out of business these days" and "Hit the [woman] Grandpa!") but the sheer horror overwhelms all of that, every day here. Do youself a favor and stay away from Texas -- stay alive, stay undismembered, stay sane and, above all, stay safe. You definitely do not want to move here.
