Summary: an MST classic...but a bit too disturbing.
Review: Although this episode of MST3k featured one of the series funniest, and most memorable lines ("Watch out for snakes!!"), i still found the actual movie a bit too disturbing to really enjoy, even on the bad movie scale.
The basic premise: a young woman stumbles upon a "giant" living in the hills. and when her adventurer father goes in search of him, and ends up being kidnapped, she and her boyfriend set off on their own search. She ends up getting kidnapped herself, and the disturbing part...comes in the way her father basically "offers her" up to the giant in order for them not to be hurt. There are actually a few reasons this movie is uncomfortable to watch. There are some genuinely funny moments here, but unfortunitely, no amount of comic relief from Joel and the bots, can save this one.

Summary: One of my favorites!
Review: I absolutely love this episode! There are so many funny things happening that every time I watch it I catch a new joke. This episode also contains some of the lines that have become "inside jokes" for later episodes, such as "Watch out for snakes!" I would recommend this episode, as it is one my favorites, as well as a favorite of many MST3K fans. I don't want to give too much away, just believe me - it is funny. Living in Minnesota I've been a fan of the show since they were on public television.

I sure hope Rhino keeps releasing these on DVD, since the reruns are no longer on the air. So buy this to show your support for MST3K so they keep on releasing!!

Summary: Just Plain Funny!
Review: Mystery Science Theater 3000 never lets me down, so after reading some good reviews about their take on the film "Eegah", I went out and purchased it. I had already bought the film "Eegah" without the MST3K commentary and it was hilarious, but the additional comments from Joel and the robots made it even funnier!!

"Eegah" revolves around a prehistoric caveman who lives in the mountains of California in the 1960's - how this occurs no one really knows, but it's just accepted as if this sort of thing happens everyday! One day a young woman accidently hits the giant caveman with her car and thus begins her (and her father's and boyfriend's) quest to find this caveman so they can take pictures of him and prove to the world that he's real. One would think they would want to get in touch with someone who might be a little more learned on the topic of cavemen, but not these people! They want pictures! What results is a hilarious display of stupidity and annoying behavior by all characters.

I enjoy this DVD because the original uncut film is included. You can also set up the DVD so that you can see what was cut from the original to make room for the MST3K antics! I would highly suggest this film to any MST3K fan. It's one you'd definitely want to have in your collection!!!!!

Summary: A Charm All Its Own
Review: Eegah! The Name Written in Blood! ' When I bought this movie, I knew what I was letting myself in for because I was working in a movie theater when we showed this film, and I can definitely, unequivocally, and categorically state that it was NEVER, EVER released; it ESCAPED! Josef Stalin once said that quantity has a quality all its own. Like quantity and quality, WORST has a CHARM all its own, which is why there should be an Academy Award category for it. 'Attack of the Killer Tomatoes' notwithstanding, this IS the worst movie ever made, which is why I bought it. The budget was so low that you'd swear at times no sound recording equipment was taken to the filming location; the sound AND dialog were dubbed later in the studio. Eegah! stars Richard Kiel in the title role as a sensitive last descendant of pre-historic cavemen living with the mummified remains of his ancestors (with whom he has "conversations") in the desert outside Palm Springs at the time of the story (1962). He is discovered by the heroine, Roxie (played by Marilyn Manning) who accidentally hits him with her sports car out on a lonely stretch of highway while driving to a party one night. He is so large that he is unhurt by the accident, and she pretends to faint at the sight of him. He is scared off by her boyfriend, Tom (Arch Hall, Jr.); but when they look for him the next day, he captures her and her father, and holds them hostage. A particularly bad scene is the one in which she makes a mess out of her attempt to shave off his fake beard. Watch it at your own risk, and remember to "watch out for snakes." ...

Review: The ultimate in cheesiness,this movie is really horrible..but our 'bots and Joel do their usual hysterical riff,causing even the most grown-up among us to hoot and holler like kids,happily incredelous at the unbelievable things we are seeing,let-alone hearing(Arch Hall Jr.'s "singing").I am a fervent Mistie,and this is one of the best.I miss my 'bots.

Review: There are some episodes of MST3K that no B-Movie fan should be without, Eegah is one of those. While simply too horrible to view on its own, the film becomes hilarious when you add the crew of Mystery Science Theater to it. Classic tag lines like "Watch out for snakes" find their origins in this low life movie, which has "Richard Keil... and not much else."
Mystery Science Theater is not for everyone, however, as the style of humor is very reliant on references to other movies, and there are references that even I, a self-professed movie buff, do not understand. Some episodes of Mystery Science Theater (albeit rarely) can even be a little boring. But Eagah is among the funniest moments in the series' history, and while the best ones like "Santa Clause Versus The Martians" are still not available on DVD I would recommend Eegah as a must have for any MST3K fan's collection.

Summary: Egads! Oh, and watch out for snakes!
Review: This movie is so bad that Crow and Tom have to wash the Eegah off of them after it's over. There are some horrible things in this movie: Richard Kiel, of course; spasmodic dancing; truly icky singing; the slightly too friendly relationship between father and daughter; and, worst of all, Arch Hall, Jr.'s face and hair. Yes, for as long as there have been movies, there have been bad, seemingly inexplicable movies, and this is certainly one of them. It all starts with greasy Arch's girlfriend encountering a "giant" on the road; no one believes her story, of course, until the gang finds a big footprint several feet off the road. Suddenly, her dad, who dresses and acts like some kind of scientist, is convinced that some kind of prehistoric creature is living in the hills and sets off to find him. What happens is that Eegah, Richard Kiel wearing one of the fakest beards and moustaches I've ever seen, finds him. The trip to pick up dear old dad gives Arch a chance to show off his dune buggy in the desert-he has water in the tires, you know-but, wouldn't you know it, Eegah comes along and snatches Roxie. Back in Eegah's cave, Roxie and her dad meet Eegah's mummified family, drink nasty sulfur water, and try to humor the big fellow. Quite ickily, Roxie decides to give her father a shave and seems to enjoy it just a little too much. Meanwhile, Arch is whining all over the desert sands and cliffs in search of his girl. In the end, we learn that you can take Eegah out of his cave, but you can't take the caveman out of Eegah.

Eegah is the role Richard Kiel was made to play, seeing as how he just has to run around in a fake animal skin and growl and mutter incoherently. Luckily for us, this allows Joel and the Bots extra time to throw in one zinger after another, making this a better than average experiment in terms of the laughs it engenders. This is also the episode where Dr. Forrester replaces Frank's blood with antifreeze, and you don't want to miss that. For no extra charge, you even get the guys' impersonations of such beloved television characters as Uncle Joe from Petticoat Junction and Mr. Haney from Green Acres. Order in the next 20 minutes, and you will also get the catchphrase sweeping the nation, delivered by a disembodied voice in the film, "Watch out for snakes!" While this is by no means my favorite MST3K episode, it is one I would not do without.

Summary: One of the best episodes
Review: Season Five of Mystery Science Theater 3000 is one of the best. While some fans might be angered by Joel's departure, Joel has some of his best episodes in season five, and Mike does as well.

Eegah is one of the Joel episodes, a touching movie about a cave man's love for a woman from Beverly Hills. There's song and dance, and it's like the unholy love child of Catalina Caper and Manos the Hands of Fate (Both now availible on DVD).

The riffing level on this episode is quite impressive. Lots of good joking, bizzare references and great timing (what makes a MST3K episode brilliant) are evident. The segments aren't the best, but there are some great moments in them (especially the invention exchange).

The only problem some (not me, however) might have, is that this movie is relatively unbearable. Nothing too bad if you are used to the series, but if you've only seen one or two, and aren't too prepared for a bad movie it can hurt you.
