Summary: This is mother of all witch movies!
Review: Forgive the plot, but this moody horror gem deserves more recogition as a true horror classic, right up there with "Psycho." With the proper retooling, "Horror Hotel" could easily be remade today. Can you imagine the incredible Angelica Houston as Elizabeth Selwyn and Patricia Arquette as Nan Barlow? It's all there, all it has needs an inventive, contemporary touch. Remade or not, this little film gives big scares.

Summary: An atmospheric chiller not to be missed!
Review: The Brits answer To PSYCHO, this underrated thriller is a gem! A student studying witchcraft is sent to an authentic witch burning town where she gets more than she bargained for. Horror flick fav Christopher Lee stars, with a spine-tingling performance by stage vet Patricia Jessel as the mistress of the inn, starlet of the day Veneitia Stevenson (she was married to Russ Tamblyn, who played RIFF in West Side story) as the student, and Betta St. John (the original LIAT in B'way's SOUTH PACIFIC) as a concerned villager. The opening credits are terrifying, and the music itself will haunt your dreams! Don't miss it!!!

Summary: FANTASTIC VERY SCARY
Review: This movie is SO GOOD. The ending is the best part! This is the way a good horror movie should be made.....dark and creepy.

Summary: Horror Hotel is a classic!
Review: Christopher Lee gives his usual ghoulish, brilliant performance in this surprisingly well made "b-movie" horror flick about a small villiage in New England that is inhabited almost entirely by witches! When a beautiful young co-ed arrives to do some class research, she ends up being the next victim of their late-night satanic rituals. There isn't a lot of action in this film, but what there is, builds up nicely and the plot seems to just get more and more fascinating as it moves along. It will definetly keep you on the edge of your seat. Christopher Lee as usual, steals the show. A must for any horror fan!

Summary: A great, scary classic thriller.
Review: I used to watch this movie on Chiller Theatre when I was a kid and it always scared the hell out of me. The atmosphere is really creepy, the acting is suprisingly good and it has an overall sense of dread. A must see for fans of early horror.

Summary: A great little lost horror thriller. Definitely underrated!
Review: Don't be put off by the cheesy title. This little gem is way ahead of its time. Chris Lee gives a great performance as the sinister lecturer on New England witchcraft lore. His New England accent, while not perfect, comes as something of a surprise from the dark man of horror. The cinematography is what sets this film apart. Crisp and atmospheric describes this well. The plot is fairly conventional stuff, but holds up well in light of the recent spate of teen horror films. All in all, this is one tight little horror thriller, guarenteed to please. To contrast Lee's performance with something current, I recommend finding "A Feast At Midnight", which is a charming film, with a great "against type" performance from Lee.

Summary: Spooky unknown little horror film
Review: This is a very intruiging, unknown little horror film starring Christopher Lee as a college professor/Satanist, who lures a beautiful young student into his web of witchcraft-loving pals in a small New England town. Crisp black & white photography, chilling atmosphere, one not to be missed by lovers of suspenseful horror flicks.

Summary: Brilliance on a budget
Review: HORROR HOTEL is what B movies is all about. It has stacks to offer: atmosphere, unintentional laughs, gimmicks and lots of suspence. A crazed history school-teacher (marvelouly played by Christopher Lee) who tells one of his students (who is learning about witchcraft) to go and stay at a horrific hotel called the 'Raven's Inn' and who can forget that good ol' PSYCHO gimmick with the heroine dieing near the begining of the film. Worth a glimpse for anyone who is intrested in low-budget film making and also to the fans.

Summary: timeless entertainment
Review: Due to the lack of no airplay on the tube, which seems many years, I urge any fan of the old chiller theatre or creature feature to see or better yet, add this to your horror/witchcraft movie collection.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Really scary
Review: This is one of the all-time great scare movies, made great by beautiful b&w studio photography and intense spooky atmosphere. The presence of the stunning Venetia Stevenson in the first part of the film doesn't hurt either. She was easily the most gorgeous woman on celluloid in those days. Why didn't she make more movies????
