Summary: I Know What I Am Talking About!
Review: Okay, first of all this movie is not terrible, but not worth a 4 and a half star rating! While yes it is original, and weird, it is still very boring, and not entertaining. Worth seeing once.

Summary: The Third and Best of the Evil Dead Series
Review: Army of Darkness is the third and hopefully not the final installment in the Evil Dead series. The plot is much more detailed than the other two and it actually fills in the countless holes left in the plot of Evil Dead 2. Who is Ash? Army of Darkness answers the question: he's a supermarket clerk from S-Mart's Housewares Division. Ash is played hilariously by square-jawed Bruce Campbell who gives a performance that is a combining of 2 characters: Duke Nukem and Moe Howard of the 3 Stooges. It has only one drawback: Sam Raimi could've atleast attempted to make this film even a little scary. That would've helped the humor alot better. But this is only a minor flaw. Army of Darkness is one the best films I have ever watched. It's a definite must-see. If Raimi finally produces a 4th installment, it wouldn't be wise to set in the forest again.

Summary: Hail to the King, Baby
Review: This movie is quite possibly one of the greatest movies of all time. It has an incredible balance of humor, special effects, storyline and general ingenuity. This movie has an amazing assortment of famous "one liners". It is not a movie for people who lack imagination or have no appreciation for the absurd. If you like Monty Python, Im pretty sure youll like this too.

As for the DVD itself, I personally am quite happy with it. The sound is quite good, despite what some other reviews have reported. The picture has moments where it is fairly grainy, or even downright damaged looking, but these areas were even worse in the VHS version. For the most part, the remastering is excellent and the picture is incredibly crisp.

I think the remastered version is a must have. It has a great assortment of goodies and is all around a fabulous value (considering the movie is just so downright awesome). I dont recommend getting the directors cut or the "limited edition" set unless youve already seen this movie and want the added information and "behind the scenes" stuff because you like it *that* much. Dont get the directors cut for the picture quality or the sound.. it just isnt there. Get it for the extra content.

My 5 star rating is more for the movie itself rather than the DVD version, though I think if youre even going to buy this flick to begin with, you would be silly to get VHS. Dont forget also that a lot of film imperfections are handled by a quality dvd player, and good cables are important too.

Summary: Army of Darkness
Review: The continuing saga of Ash, a young man that has battled "The Evil Dead" for the past 24 hours. Ash has watched friends die and turn into evil demons, he's had the hell beat out of him, and he's had to kill each demon, of course, by mutilation. Now, he's been pulled into a time warp, just when he thought things would return to normal. \

Army of Darkness is fun, scary, has some great one-liners and is full of surprises. It would make The Three Stooges proud.

Very little adult language and only brief nudity, most would find it a fun movie, especially if you are a horror fan.

Check it out.

Summary: Evil Adam loves Evil Dead, 2 discs of beauty!
Review: It's great to see all the things we've been missing these past years of viewing AOD. The collectors 2 DVD set is perfect for those who love AOD or the entire Evil Dead series. Though I was disappointed with some of the video quality during the restored scenes, the audio commentary explains there appearance, and made me overlook it. Overall its a must for Evil Dead and Sam Raimi or Bruce Campbell fans and completeists, and should fit nicely in ANY film buffs collection.

Summary: They don't get any better than this!
Review: This movie is entertainment in its purest form. Brilliant in every aspect, with amazing attention to technical detail. The DVD Limited Edition in my opinion is well worth the extra money. It's quite easy to watch the director's cut, and then immediately watch it again with Raimi's and Campbell's commentary turned on. The behind-the-scenes comments are just about as entertaining as the movie itself. As to the movie, there is never a dull moment here. All action scenes are full of completely satisfying moments punctuated by sharp wit. Campbell plays his part with gusto, as does everyone else. Campbell is one of the most fun actors to watch that there is. I can't believe I have not seen this movie until 1998 on cable. Where was I when it was at the theaters? This is third in the 'Evil Dead' series, and I sincerely hope there will be a fourth!

Review: Highly entertaining and lukewarm by turns, with more emphasis on comedy than in either of its predecessors. Has a different, more adventurous feel to it, since the entire film isn't confined to a log cabin (like its predecessors), but it's a bit clumsy and hokey on the whole. It's supposed to be sort of hokey, of course, but I mean beyond that. Certain bits just come off as silly in a bad way. Overall though, it is certainly entertaining, and if you liked Evil Dead 1 and 2, you will probably enjoy it.

Review: Please don't buy this for the directors cut, the quality is simply appalling The image has artifacting and smearing beyond belief. Yet the THX theatrical release is a pleasure to behold, and the documentary, for a change, is actually quite informative. And I wouldn't try the give me some sugar line, it doesn't work, trust me.

Summary: A great thrid Evil Dead movie!
Review: This movie was great! It has quickly become among my favorite movies of all time! However, it falls a bit short of the first two films. Bruce Campell, as always, gives a memorable perfomance. I think that we all can relate to his character in some way. Not that we have all been sent through a time portal to the Dark ages to do battle with the Undead, or anything. But Campbell's character gives us a working-class blue collar joe, who in this case, turns out to be one great unlikely hero. But, I think that we've all wanted to go to the sporting goods section of a shopping center and do battle with the undead (final scene). This is a truly must-see film!

Summary: Keeps on getting better
Review: The first Evil Dead was just the run-of-the-mill horror movie where a bunch of teenagers die gruesomely in an hour and a half. The second was about the same only it had a twisted sense of humor about it. This is a non-stop joyride filled with an unpredictable event every minute. Now only if there was an Evil Dead 4...
