Summary: Not Inferior, but not Superior
Review: Although Season 2 of Todd McFarlane's Spawn was good, it just didnt quite compare to Season 1 or Season 3. But if you like Spawn, and have seen the First Season, this is the perfect DVD for you! Dont ever buy the Spawn Live Action Movie!! EVER!!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Scarier than half the horror films you ever saw.
Review: Better than the first Spawn video, yet you still need to see it (the first one) to get some background story. Incredibly stylish, surprisingly scary. Makes you wonder what'd it be of Spawn now if they had showed this cartoon in movie theaters instead of the crappy live action film. Why not? It's about time America stops pigeon-holing animation as kid stuff.

Summary: Animation so good it'll make you think twice
Review: I remember watching this series when it aired on HBO. I was in shock at how dark and perfectly executed the mood of the "cartoon" was. This wasn't re-using frame after frame like Hanna-Barbara, it wasn't happy kiddie-fare from Disney, and it wasn't some strange art style inspired from Europe like Heavy Metal. Spawn was truly an animated series for adults, and people who could think. Don't let the spelling of other reviewers (words like "phat" and the excessive use of the letter z, e.g.) fool you into thinking this for the current MTV generation only. This is for anyone who wants to see an intelligent, dark series that probably gets away with more grim acts than many R-rated movies. Exceptional and eye-opening. You owe it to yourself to see this work of art.

Summary: it was great
Review: I think it's one of the best sequiel to the first one but i thought it was a little to dark.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: It's very good, but not for the weak of stomach, or children
Review: I thought it was incredible animation and th plot was great

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Improves on the first.
Review: If you liked the first one, see this one. If you haven't seen the first one, I'd reccomend you watch it before this. Darker than the first. More action, but a little creepier. One thing about this series is that it messes with your head in confusing you about whats right and wrong. This tape has a lot of that in it.

Summary: I Fell Asleep
Review: If you look up my record you will find that I usually review religious works, so I admittedly am not the best person to review SPAWN. Someone gave us the video as a gift and wanted me to look it over. so here goes . . .

NEGATIVE: The language seems to be an attempt to make a statement, but the statement is so overdone the message gets lost. It seems to attempt to be radical, but I've seen some real life stories that were much more radical. The message tries to offer a new twist on the classic struggle between good and evil, but I didn't care enough for the main character to get it. The overall atmosphere of the pice seems to make a statement that might be offensive to some. I am sure that many would expect me to be offended by it. I wasn't offended, I was bored. Actually, my first time through, I fell asleep and had to see it again to get it. My two sons, (age 17 & 21) also watched it with me and they also fell asleep.

POSITIVE: The artistry is excellent. For fans of the series, I am sure it is a great piece. As with many videos (such as Dragon Ball Z) a lot of your enjoyment comes from your previous contact with the series. It does a fairly good job of speaking for those 16-25 year olds who are facing a world of darkness, emotional energy, unwavering established values among the establishment, confusing morality, and rebellion. Younger people might not understand it and older people might not find it interesting.

RECOMMENDATION: It did nothing for me, but if you are already a fan of the series it will probably interest you. I suspect that almost everyone reading this review will be a fan of the series (why else read this). Therefore, my review will be the minority. Enjoy it, but don't take it too seriously.
