Summary: A Disappointment
Review: After reading a couple of very good reviews about this movie I was anticipating the release of this giallo from Mondo Macabro. While the DVD presentation ( like the rest of MM's releases) of the film is great, the film itself left much to be desired. Being a fan of many a gialli I was prepared, and wanted, to enjoy this film - even when the story shifted from the two "main" characters (one of which was the killer) and into a far less interesting story involving two insipid, joyriding beach lovers, I was still willing to go along for the ride. However, after over an hour of boredom I kept telling myself to wait because "The Killer Must Kill Again." Thus the title became a kind of mantra for me - something to help me see the film through to its disappointing conclusion. With a giallo film I'm more than willing to suspend my disbelief, engage myself in ludicrous plots and watch cardboard characters go through the motions, all for the sake of the bravura cinematic style and meticulous, inventive (and sometimes brutal) murder sequences which are a staple of the genre. While "The Killer Must Kill Again" has a few nice stylistic touches, it was not nearly enough to make up for the film's many, many short comings - and as for the murder sequences (there are two) they are completely devoid of imagination and entirely forgettable. It might be Luigi Cozzi's best film, but then again, that's not really enough to recommend it.

Summary: superb presentation of a great thriller
Review: Reading another customer review I was forced to write my own for the first time! I couldnt disagree more strongly - this is a great movie and a wonderful presentation from Mondo Macabro. In reality this movie isnt a giallo in the classic sense ( maybe why some folks dont get it) - Cozzi subverts the genre he knows so well from working with Argento - and creates a tense thriller much more in the mould of Hitchcock's Frenzy than the multiple murder pile up we're used too. Our concerns are for the killer more than the victims which creates an unease whilst watching that I really enjoyed. The movie comes in a stunning cinemascope presentation, with a great pounding score - loaded with three (!) featurettes but by far the best extra is the fascinating commentary track - its like a masterclass in thriller making - Which is good for me!
