Rating: Summary: more info at www.anocproductions.com Review: Checked out the flick since I'm a huge horror fan. it's has a unique perspective on the cliche zombie formula. I just jumped on here to see what other's reaction's were, or just get more info. guess there's nothing. I did find the official website though .... http://www.anocproductions.com/ for more info. on a side note, it's nothing like Day of the dead, or 28 days later.
Rating: Summary: Original but missed more power Review: First I give 3 stars mainly because of the cinematography. Very well done. However, I agree the movie was original but be careful if you are looking for a faster movie. I think the script did not provide a strong dialogue. The movie tried to be philosophical but the dry conversations between the characters caused a disservice to the movie. The intention of the movie was great but my guess is that it was scripted very quickly and therefore, left the movie weak.
Rating: Summary: 'Shadows' is definately not shallow Review: I recently was privey enough to catch Carl Lindburghs' "Shadows of the Dead" at a local private screening. Not knowing much about it except for the title and it being an indie horror film I walked in expecting your basic run of the mill low budget horror romp. But what I walked away from was a clevering written, photographed and well executed tragic romance rivaling any film the Hollywood circuit can churn out. 'Shadows' works on several levels. On an emotional level you have the struggle between the couple in how they choose to survive and the ultimate decisions one must make when put through extreme situations. It also works on a suspensefully intellectual level. I found myself being both sympathetic and empathetic to both main characters while eagerly awaiting the climax that can really end no other way. One thing I noticed right away in the film was how expertly lit the scenes were. Beautiful cinematography also do 'Shadows' much credit. Kudos to Mr. Lindburgh on an excellent start to what looks like a very promising career in filmmaking.
Rating: Summary: Waste of Time Review: The director of this movie made a poor attempt to spice up the horror genere. The dialogue was just plain bad, the actors gave weak performances, and the pace of the movie was slow and tiresome. This was as bad as watching Gigli.I gave it one star because the director/writer tried pretty hard to make something unique, but he failed immensly. If you want movies that are a little off key like this director tried to do, then stick with M. Night Shyamalan. Some caterpillars just aren't meant to be butterflies.
Rating: Summary: unique horror film. different. Review: This is a UNIQUE horror film. This is the story from the monster's point of view. If you want a horror film can offer something more then blood and guts, then you will enjoy this.
If you find yourself watching horror movies and always wanting the killer to kill the insipid cliche teenagers, then why not check out a movie from the monster's point of view? This brought up interesting questions.... What is it like to be a zombie? What are the moral delimas one goes through when one begins to transform into a zombie? Do you take other's lives to sustain your own? Who do you kill if you have to? How can you justify such actions?
If you want a slasher film with the same plot go check out JASON or FREDDY parts 19 or 24.
The production values may be lacking at times, but that all seems to add to the feel of the film. Makes it seem a little more real. This is obviously a independant film, but I'd take a independant film over a studio film if there's a unique idea in it. This film definetly has unique ideas going for it.
