Rating: Summary: Gone Not So Good Review: Sound is fuzzy, special effects are very unrealistic,
and the story line is not biblically based - it seems like a rough cut of the film
Rating: Summary: Very Good Movie! Review: The storyline is excellent and the pacing is good. Really liked the gritty reality of apologetics ('Does God exist?' 'Why Does Evil Exist?') and the bantering back and forth between the characters. Very good dialogue. OK action (could have been better). One problem I did have with the film is the scene where these gigantic hailstones hurl down at those characters. The hail would have easily crushed anyone in the vicinity, but they manage to easily escape it without a scratch on them! Otherwise, excellent film. I'd give it a thumbs up (although I'm no Roger Ebert!)
Rating: Summary: This film should be raptured Review: This has to be by far the WORST film I ever wasted time watching. Another twisted rapture theory taken out of context to support a "rapture doctrine," and a terrible if not down right dangerous misunderstanding of suffering is interlaced with doctrine and is clearly demonstrated in this film. There are NO historical reference to support anything in this movie and most know that Christianity is primarily a historical religion. The only reference to TRUE biblical reference is the exerts from Revelations which we all know was a book written in symbols to Christians under persercution. It was not written literally nor should one ever misuse its contents to promote literal Christian Fundamentalism. The couple of scripture passages used in the beginning and end of the movie were literally taken out of context and misused in an effort to support this distasteful work. We all see by the war of today where fundamentalism can lead people when it is allowed to go unbridled. The story line was a terrible twisted fantasy and I would not even consider it in the "bad" film list rather, a film that should not be taking space on the shelf. This film promotes a vengeful God and not a God of Christianity, a God of Love. Parents should be aware of letting their children view a film such as this one. It completely distorts and "creates," its own intrepretation of God and spirituality from an ALL-LOVING GOD to one of a vengeful nature, showing preference, and a God that does not love His own Creation. This is NOT the God of Christianity that I was taught to love and worship. As a Christian, I would love to support my Brothers and Sisters in Christ, as they express their Christianity, however, I cannot support or endorse any work of this nature when it is twisting and creating its own form of Christianity that is NOT consistent with Scripture or the Tradition of Christianity.
