Summary: Another horrible movie from Tempe!
Review: An insult. I don't want to hear how the film company was working with a "limited" budget. There are a lot of "cheap" films out there, but this movie looks bad, is directed badly, has terrible acting, and a worthless, tired story. Tempe Entertainment, the company that put this out, is known for planting positive reviews of their films so people will think they have some massive fan following. Don't believe it! As a fan of good-bad movies, this rates so low 1 star is too much. Avoid this! You've been warned!

Summary: Hell Asylum
Review: Five lovely women compete on a new low budget reality TV show entitled "Chill Challenge". The contestants [played by: Debra Mayer / Prison of the Dead (2000); Tanya Dempsey / Witchouse 3 (2001); Stacy Scowley / Brotherhood 2 (2001); Olimpia Fernandez / Killjoy 2 (2002), and newcomer Sunny Lohbardo] have to spend the night in a haunted house, where years before an eccentric millionaire assaulted local women, and forced them to become his bride slaves. The winner who manages to spend the night in the house, receives a "non existing" million dollars. The producers girlfriend is already predetermined to win the show, thus the need for no money. The makers of the show will do anything to terrorize the girls on the show, without realizing that the house itself already has its own terror. The ghosts of the former owner, and his dead brides are determined to make their own horror show. Directed by Danny Draven [Horrorvision (2001); Cryptz (2002)] and written by Troma Team vet Trent Haaga / Citizen Toxie: The Toxic Avenger 4 (1999). The director's style is a lot harder edged than most out there, and that is what makes this film great. The movie is filled with splatter & gore effects, yet I'm still tempted to place it in the Haunted House genre. DVD fans take note that their are two editions available - one is a double feature version from Full Moon with Prison of the Dead (2002), and this one with the 16 x 9 / 5.1 special edition from Tempe with tons of extras including a unrelated hilarious bonus feature from Chris Seaver's `Low-Budget Pictures' called Mulva: Zombie Ass Kicker (2001). A splat-stick horror comedy about a young sugar junkie, excited and determined to partake in her first Halloween trick-or-treat adventure "...of her young adult life..." Until the zombies arise from the dead and ruin her chances of a sugar high. Featuring cameos from `Scream Queen' Debbie Rochon (Playmate of the Apes (2002), and president of Troma Team director Lloyd Kaufman. Keep an eye out for more films from these guys, as they seem to really enjoy what they do.

Summary: Hellish viewing and not in a good way
Review: For starters, I love independant horror films and like the work of Trent Haaga (who wrote this and made a small appearance) but there is no way in any hell asylum that I can endorse this film.

I picked up my copy as soon as it came out, mainly because I love Dead & Rotting which is a great film and the limited special edition has so many featurs that it puts to shame most major studio DVD releases. Also Hell Asylum was pushed as being "the most gory Full Moon production". Sadly I found that the film's gore entirely consisted of hooded figures eating thin entrails, that couldnot possible be confused with anything in the human anatomy, which had merely been placed on top of the actors.

The story, which could have worked under different cirumstances, is no lesser than the average horror flick and the acting isn't that bad at all ( Tanya Dempsy is cool ) but still the clumsy and extremly poorly done gore and the directors failure to capture even a split second of tension or surprise renders this production totally unwatchable.

Full Moon productions seem to have only two types of flicks: great horror films that exceed their low budget with their brillaince Dead & Rotting for example and films so baddly directed and technically clumsy that they waste the time of the viewer as well as that of all involved. Witchhouse 3 for example had Debbie Rochon, Tina Crause and Tanya Dempsy all in starring roles and got some hype and 'generous' reviews but isn't worth a single watch, it's just that amazingly flawed.

Summary: "Worst Movie I Ever Seen"
Review: Hell Asylum to me is one of the worst movies I have ever seen.I know its low buget but still. It contained one of the worst plots ever. The computer blood was absolutly dreadful. The acting is laughable.I needed something to keep me from falling a sleep(and no i'm not joking). Its an absolute disgrace to horror. This is a perfect example of horror gone wrong. It was so boring I literally had to fast forward the talking scenes. In all my years of watching movies this would be on my worst movies ever made list.Giving this movie 5 stars or anything higher than 1 would be an outrage. Its trash like this that give low-buget movies a bad name. Please people whatever you do don't buy this garbage.I'm trying to save your money.I felt I had to review this movie to save people from what a disapointment this movie is.I sure hope you take my advice or you'll be sorry when you find out you just completely wasted your money.

Summary: This film is bad.
Review: How can I describe this movie. Somehow i get tricked into watching these really bad horror movies that Full Moon Entertainment makes. The acting is terrible. I feel bad for Trent Haaga who co-wrote Citizen Toxie: The Toxic Avenger 4(By the way, that movie is actually worth buying), his script never had a chance. The movie would have worked wonderfully as a horror comedy, instead it goes for more of the serious horror movie approach when the movie can't even take itself seriously. The violence would have made up for it, but all of that was blocked by static making it look like it came from a tv. I don't care how much money was put into this movie, it's just a really bad film.

Review: i should have known that when you watch somethin from full moon your going to get full moon quality. terrible movie, simply terrible. 5 hot girls go into a house to have a chance to win a million dollars. all they have to do is complete the challenges laid in front of them by the director who is putting the show on tv. only thing is that the house is really haunted and all hell breaks loose, ya right! sounds like a good movie but it's really not. not entertaining one bit. move on and check out somethin else. really wish i could give this movie less than 1 star.

Review: Sure, there's not much of a plot here and it's very short(about 65 min) but it's very well done for what it is. In my opinion this is what horror movies should be like. All horror movies are stupid, but even moreso when writers try too hard to have a good plot. Plots are not important in horror movies, especially in a b movie such as this. It's got well done gore and is entertaining to watch. Plus stacy scowley is cute.
