Summary: 1983
Review: Cmon people its 1983!!!! The film was made quite some time ago! Yes, it isnt without it's flaws...."why would a dead woman in a bag still be in the bag in the attic"? Yes, that was a VERY dumb scene with bad dialogue but its ok. These films are made to be "fun". No its not scary but its inventive at times where it needs to be. Yes yes its ANOTHER slasher etc. But its still a good movie IF you are into slasher films. ANY good slasher fan knows the rules, knows the dark humor and knows why the creators pick bad actors and some cheesy lines. If you don't get it, you dont, but that hardly means it sucks etc.. I find the film quite enjoyable and LOVE the 80s slasher films.

Summary: WORST MOVIE+[BAD] DVD TRANSFER=(0/5 STARS)
Review: First off this is the movie...I Know What You Did Last Summer [is like],if that gives a clue of what to expect. The plot(not much)is about a sorority that wants to threw a party but their mother of the sorority refuses,so the girls play a prank on the old lady and she suffers a heart attack then comes back killing people with a cane, thats the story in a nutshell. This gives the viewer no surpise of the killers identity, and not only that knowing its a old granny with a cane makes the movie that much worse to watch. Your probably thinking at least there has to be some cool death scenes, well guess again merely just a granny killing with a cane,no gore, just Friday The 13th edits. This DVD also has lots of grain and suffers from poor quality and no extras(REMINDS ME OF PARAMOUNT DVD'S)decent sound considering its mono. UNLESS YOUR A PRE-TEEN AND WANT TO KNOW WHAT MOVIE I KNOW WHAT YOU DID LAST SUMMER [STEMS FROM](WHICH ISN'T SAYING MUCH),THEN SKIP THIS MOVIE AND GET THE CLASSIC REAL HORROR FLICKS1)HALLOWEEN(1978), 2)A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET (1AND3), 3)SILENT NIGHT,DEADLY NIGHT(1984)

Summary: hot soap chicks in a deadly fight to survive
Review: I remember when this movie first came to vhs the top drawer was a change to see at that time 3 of the hottest soap opera actress's in the same movie and the sexiest of all...Eileen Davidson having a couple of nude scenes! If there was a story to go along with that, who knows what it was. I remember the old lady had a retarded child who she kept hidden the the old sorortiy house and that most of the girls were gone for a break of some time. There is an accident and the old house mother is killed and then the sisters are offed one at a time. There is good acting for a movie like this and I remember a couple of decent chills.

Summary: Its graduation time at....
Review: I was so pleased to see that long-time JW set decorator Vincent Peranio did this film as well! That aside, this was much better than most 80s "horror" flicks. If you like "Black Christmas" then you should enjoy this one as well. And Harley (Jane) Kozak, sexy voice aside, has never been more unattractive! A must-see for fans of the genre!

Summary: Gotta Love Horror Movies Set In Sororities
Review: In the 80's there were a few horror movies using Sororities. There was Initiation, Sorority House Massacre and Hell Night, just to name a few. This one is among the best, and does have a few creepy moments. Not overly bloody, and a followable story line. The acting is pretty good too, considering it is an 80's horror film. I am really excited to see this out on DVD with a wide screen presentation. I will be showing this at my fraternity for horror movie night!!!

Summary: TED DIDN'T WATCH VERY CLOSELY. GOOD, NOT GREAT.
Review: The reviewer known as Ted totally missed who the killer was in this movie. It was not an old granny. The old granny is killed accidentally by the kids, and they want you to think she comes back for them, but that is not the case at all. While the killer is no real surprise, I could not let false information float around out here like this. B/c I respect any attempt, however feeble, at keeping the audience guessing, I will not say who the real killer is, but if you watch it halfway closer than Ted did, you will know. This movie does have its moments, particularly the ending, but I would have to list STAGEFRIGHT and any of Argento's early works (SUSPIRIA, TENEBRE, DEEP RED) as being a better expenditure of time and money.

Summary: This is a great movie!
Review: This is one of the only slasher/ horror flicks of the 80's that I can say is really good, and give four stars. The girls of the soroity house are pretty cool and likeable, as well as attractive in a unique kind of way. The attic is creepy and well decorated. The music is great, and not the usual bad syn. music as in most early-80's slashers. The story is interesting, the acting good, as well as the production values, and is scary! On another note, the trailer, which is included on the DVD, give the impression that this is a bit more dramatic than scary. And it is a bit, but it's not a bad thing. The DVD transfer is great, and makes the film look as tho it was made recently! I REALlY like this movie, and defintely reccomended it.

Summary: Another below average slasher
Review: This movie is about a group of sorority girls who want to have a year-end party in the dorm. However, their evil house mother won't let them. They pull a prank on the house mother, it goes terribly wrong, they have their party, and it goes terribly wrong.

Not too much interesting going on here. We never really get to know the sorority girls very well, they're usually in a group and the movie does come off somewhat as a study in group dynamics. When the prank goes wrong, the "bad" girl convinces everyone to help cover it up, while the "good" girl tries to convince them to do the opposite. The only likable character in the whole movie is the bad girl, she's very sympathetic and the movie would have been much better if they would have left the good girl out altogether, as she just struck me as a real conceited b****. Everyone else is just there to drive up the body count, we hardly even learn their names, much less care about them, before they're dispatched in some utterly unimagineative way.

The movie doesn't even capitalize on what could have been a good amount of camp value. The theme music sounds like it's from a Columbo TV movie, which doesn't help in that regard, and there's less T&A than one might expect from a movie with the word "sorority" in the title. Basically it comes off as an episode of Murder She Wrote with the addition of a serial killer. It wouldn't have surprised me a bit so see Angela Lansbury show up an any moment. As far as the killer, the mysterious identity is set up via large doses of forshadowing at the beginning, but we're left wondering throughout who or what he is only to be left with our curiosity unfulfilled.

Overall, it's not terrible, but not really up to even average standards. Better than reruns on the Golf Channel, but not much else.

Summary: Better than average
Review: This movie is not like the Sorority House Massacre series or the Slumber Party Massacre series. This movie is excellent. The photography, lighting, acting, story line and score are above average for this type of movie. Elite Entertainment did an excellent digital transfer on this DVD. This movie rates extremely high in my Horror collection. Glad I own it.
