Summary: These kinds of movies are why you need to buy at amazon
Review: Never again will I go with "a hunch" based on box cover art or description. I usually buy all my flicks here at amazon because I can read the reviews and at least make an intelligent choice.
Unforutnatly I picked this up at a store and thinking that it was priced at 17.99 it at least should have been fairly entertaining.
Heck, All I need to do is go to my local halloween store and pick up a rubber mask and put on some farmer clothes and I would make a great scarecrow in this movie.

It was soo bad, but me having my pride, watched the entire movie.. although be it, the last 30 minutes in FAST-Foward motion. BLECH... It is bad enough for me to come on line and start typing to tell ANYONE that this was just horrible.. And to relieve my stress at reading that others reviewers had the same unfortunate experience to see this.. gave me a few chuckles to know that somehow I was not the only one.

So then, I will just stick to my old ways and actually get to read reviews rather than just going on a "gut feeling". Not all movies I purchase get a great review, but, at least I think this is an informed way of purchasing it, knowing I was warned, but going for it anyways.

Don't know what I will do with this one, I have a few hundred movies in my collection, maybe I can make a hole in the wall, insert this dvd, and replaster the wall so that it can never be found in my collection.. Can't give it away, and do not want someone finding this in the trash and seeing it...

Summary: Oh, the horror - and not the good kind...
Review: Not all that long ago, I was a theatre major at Marshall University in Huntington, WV. I remember a couple summers ago, some friends of mine in the theatre told me about a little indy horror flick they were working on called "Dark Harvest." I was pretty excited to see what they had accomplished. Now that I have finally seen "Dark Harvest," I must say... Well, uh... Damn. As much as I'd like to tell you all that this is a wonderfully directed, edited, scripted, etc. horror film, it just isn't. "Dark Harvest" is an absolutely abysmal piece of trash, that should be removed from every store in America (and god forbid this crap should end up in other countries). If any of you that worked on this flick are reading this, and you know me and wonder just why I would go Judas on you... Well, I'm sorry, but you made one very terrible film. No, calling this a "film" isn't right; hell, it isn't even a movie. This is a flick, and a most atrocious one at that. You've already read why in the many other reviews already posted here, and possibly elsewhere on the web. Therefore, I won't repeat the reasons for this flick's craptacular nature. I would say "you just have to see it yourself," but I would be a terrible critic indeed were I to say such a thing. No, you would be better off skipping this flick altogether; don't even rent it. If you absolutely must see this flick, know this: you have been warned.

Summary: A Fine Movie
Review: Some people seem over critical (could we say, spoiled?) when it comes to this movie. Silent Warnings is a film that takes me back to some of the great smaller budged thrillers of the 80's that relied on a good story, slow building suspense, and explosive endings instead of flashy garbage all the way through. The cast is bright and talented and so is the crew. The discerning eye can tell a lot of love and fun when into the flick. I could nit pick at some things here and there sure, but it holds up well (even after repeated viewings). Don't expect a slam bang actioner on this one. It is a carefully written, character driven, suspense building story that eventually explodes into a dark ending. I think the film is a lot better done than others more higher budgeted in this category. Screw Signs. Another great entry into some of the greats, like Hanger 18, Capricorn One, The Arrival, Roswell (the 1994 tv movie) etc. It's by no means near as great as John Carpenters THE THING, but if like that kind of movie, you might like SILENT WARNINGS...

Summary: Creepy Cornfields
Review: This plays like an alternate version of Signs. A young man inherits a small farm when his cousin dies in an accident. Ha and a group of friends visit the farm in hopes of fixing it up and selling it. But what is going on in the cornfields?

Crop circles appear in the corn and noises are heard. Someone sees a figure. Then someone disappears. At this point things start to really get creepy. The dead cousin seems to have thought there were aliens in the corn and even claimed, on video, to have captured one. Could aliens be involved? Could they be something else?

While the exact nature and origin of the creatures is not definite at the end of the film, there is an adequate explanation. Like Signs there is a high level of creep factor in this movie with many things seeming to be just out of sight. There are some nice twists in the plot, and the ending, that help make the film feel original and fresh.

The only problems I had with the film was minor. The farm seemed to be just a house and some cornfields. There were no sheds, barns, silos or other buildings and a lack of farm equipment. This is explained in the extras as the house was built in the field just for the movie. But it is just a minor thing and not really a problem. The other was pounding a for sale sign in right in front of the house where it can not be seen from the road 1/4 mile away.

If you like creepy horror movies with heavy atmosphere or really liked Signs, you will probably like this one.

Summary: Boring as hell, badly made
Review: Well, it has to be the worst movie of the year. Compared to signs, it is nothing. Full of useless scenes and screaming hysterical women. The story is really boring and the special effects are even worst. Total waist of time and money. Alex Baldwin only appear for 5 minutes at the beginning of the movie.
Too bad I spent money renting this really bad movie.

Summary: Watch it now!
Review: Well, what's to say about Silent Warnings (here in Belgium, it's just called 'Warnings')?
Have you ever seen Signs with Mel Gibson and Joaquim Phoenix? And you liked it? Well than you should see Silent Warnings, too. You can compare the two, although Silent Warnings is much better than his big brother.
You don't get famous stars like Mel Gibson, except for Billy Zane and one of the Baldwins, but still this movie is great with relatively unknown actors who perform on a very high level!
Like all the SF alien related movies, it is a bit exagerated when you see the 'strange visitors', but what alien related movie is not a bit exagerated?
I am not gonna tell you what happens, but the story starts with 6 friends who are going to clean up the house of the cousin who went mad of one the six main characters. Not all of them will survive, it's up to you to guess who will and who won't...
Just buy it, watch it and enjoy it!

Summary: Craptacular!
Review: You would think that if a film was made in West Virginia, they could at least spell West Virginia correctly. It was spelled West Virgina in the opening. I gave this movie one star only because there was nothing less than that. Poor acting, lighting, dialogue and special effects. I think I would have been better off renting Jason X and that movie was laughable at best. Obviously, the entire budget was spent on the art work for the cover.
