Summary: The "one-star" is for the "REVIEWS"
Review: *
Okay... so everybody's going ga-ga over this "Stephen Cloud" guy, whoever dahell he is.
Okay... so everybody's jamming about how great a movie this is and how much it "rocks."
Okay... so everybody and their house cat are "recommending" it.

Okay... fine. Just one question:

WOULD SOMEBODY PLEASE EXPLAIN WHAT THE HELL THE MOVIE IS ABOUT!!!!

Accolades mean NOTHING if the "rest of us" have absolutely NO IDEA what the story is! Imagine if everyone dumped heaps of praise on the movie "DEEP THROAT," then someone went into to it with the idea that it was probably going to be a movie about the Nixon/Watergate leak, because nobody bothered to mention anything about the film's plot or content. That's the situation we have here.

So "HALLOW'S END" is a "horror" movie. Okay, but that's "ALL" the "rest of us" know about it until somebody breaks the pattern and tells "the rest of us" a little something about the movie itself other than "Stevie Clod is soooooo HOT!"

Summary: Fun horror film
Review: All in all, Hallow's End was a fun Halloween movie. It isn't really a scary movie but an enjoyable, old-fashioned horror film. I liked the character development, the photography and especially the ending. It's worth the watch.

Summary: A new family tradition
Review: Hallow's End will be shown for as long as I'm alive each and every Halloween. It is a fun movie in keeping with the spirit of Halloween, and it's main character Tom Sharp (played brilliantly and capably by Stephen Cloud) is extremely easy to root for in this flick. Cloud really uses his emotion to convey Tom's inner struggles and confusion, and is it just me or did he do a VERY eerily accurate Vincent Price-style voice as the tourguide of the haunted house? Overall, yes there have been better movies made in the history of American Cinema, but for a film debut Cloud has demonstrated to me that he is ready to break out into the Hollywood mainstream any time now. Best of luck Stephen Cloud!

Summary: Talk about a bulls-eye...
Review: I cannot understand how the casting people hit the
jackpot with Cloud and Matt Moore and I guess that guy
who played Gary and missed on everyone else. Man, if
they make a Hallow's End 2 I hope that Dan and Gary
come back to life and take on Tom Sharp in a 3-way
battle. Is someone working on the script? Stephen
Cloud did an admirable job in holding this film
together through the dry spells (i.e. non Stephen
Cloud-acted scenes). He is very legit folks, enjoy
this performance!!

Summary: Stephen Cloud sucks!!!!!!
Review: I have to admit, I dated someone that worked on this film. They were constantly telling me how much of a tool this Stephen Cloud was. They said he thought he was the best and that he couldn't prove it. So, since the movie was filmed, my boyfriend who worked on the film and I broke up. I watched this film the other day. Stephen Cloud has to be the worst actor in the world. Seriously, he made the film awful. Johnny Depp is pretty bad but I wouldn't even compare Stephen Cloud to Johnny Depp. Johnny Depp is better. Stephen Cloud is a joke. I would put money on the fact that Stephen Cloud is not going anywhere. Absolutely nowhere. Contact me if you want to bet.

Summary: Horrible at it's best
Review: I just sat through Texas Chain Saw Massacre and thought that it was one of the most horrible movies ever. Acouple days ago I went to someone's house who was watching this movie and I sat through 20 minutes of it and left because I couldn't believe I was watching such a joke of a movie. I asked my friend if this was a student project at her college. She said she knew someone involved with the film so she had to watch it but she thought it was horrible also. T

Summary: A great horror concept made boring.
Review: I LOVE horror movies and exploitation flicks - anything with monsters, blood, and girls, I'm in. But this movie sucks. I bought it based on a description - college kids set up a haunted house and each gets turned into whatever monsters they are dressed up as. Plus naked girls. Sounds like a great concept for a goofy, weird horror movie, huh? That's what I thought till I watched it. The admittedly great premise is ruined by everybody - from director to actors - "trying too hard" to be "professionals", instead of just being loose and cheesy and having fun with it, as in classic horror flicks like "Evil Dead" or "Zombie Holocaust" or anything by Lucio Fulci. You only have to listen to a two-minute snippet of the director commentary track to recognize the problem - the filmakers took their subject matter too seriously, trying to treat it like a serious character/plot movie instead of letting the movie/monsters/blood/gore/exploitation elements be as over-the-top and ridiculous as the basic story premise.
When the college kids start turning into monsters, their monster make-ups are kept very limited. No cool looking zombies or monsters here - They just look like the same actors with dark greasepaint under their eyes or a dab of blood on their mouths. Tight reigns are similarly applied to the gore and bloodshed. Over and over again, what seems to be building up to a frenzy of horror stops dead in its tracks so the over-acting characters can huddle and talk about plot/exposition points that the director obviously feels MUST be explained in-depth or the whole film is going to fall apart. Unfortunately, the only thing this story spoon-feeding accomplishes is, it brings the accelerating pacing to an annoying, abrupt halt. Watching this movie feels like driving in slow-and-go traffic. Wrong instinct, my man. Try instead, putting the pedal to the metal, building one outrageous horror on top of another, and horror fans will love you. Don't believe me? - see Dan O'Bannon's "Return of the Living Dead", for a strong example. If the gut-punch horrors are working, logic need not always apply.
On the plus side, the lighting is nice. Good foggy colored lights, and nice shadows on everybody. And oh yeah, the girls all look reasonably cute. Too bad the pacing of the film slogs along like a snail caught in a puddle of molasses.

Summary: STEPHEN CLOUD IS DAMN COOL!
Review: I watched this movie and I have to admit, that Stephen Cloud is damn cool. His acting was great, and he tried his best to help the story along. This was the worst movie lighting I've ever seen. You can't see anyone. But Stephen Cloud's acting was very good throughout the movie and I definitely think he's going places quick.

Summary: Dumb (Not Fun Dumb)
Review: I watched this on PPV in the early morning hours. First off, it was barely watchable and boring. Secondly, the acting was shocking. But the film did have some good production values. Director Keeyes did a fine job with the low budget.

Defining this movie as "dumb" doesn't do justice to all the dumb fun movies out there. "House of the Dead" for example. This movie just doesn't succeed on any level and the attempts at sexiness with a girl on girl scene are laughable!!! I truly regret watching this film and my life is poorer for it. There is 90 minutes of my life I'll never get back and $3.95 that I'll always be chasing.

Sucks....
