Summary: A Decent Plot but a Bad Movie
Review: First of all, I have not seen any of the other TCM movies, but with Renee Zellweger and Matthew McConaughey I figured I would watch it. Of course there were the typical horror movie moments...group of friends get stranded, many chase/fight scenes, the girl running (Renee Zellweger) trips and falls alot, she runs up the stairs instead of out the door, ect. Although I expected some of this, I think this movie tried so hard to be scary that it just wasn't. This movie also had bad acting, although Matthew McConaughey was very good. However, I am giving two stars because it was fun to see Renee and Matthew in this movie together, and I thought the story line was okay, but maybe if they had different actors or a different director it would have been better.

Review: I got a chance to see most of this movie last night and boy was it terrible. What really scares me is some of the people who are giving this four or five stars and trying to make this into an artsy, high-minded movie. "Parody"?!! Parodies are supposed to be genuinely comedic, not merely cliche-ridden. And sure there was a conspiracy thing thrown in near the end in order to make it seem more intelligent than it was, but it was still poorly executed. The "boss man" chiding the family for not inspiring horror into people and his spheel about "spiritual matters" near the end came off as ridiculous attempts at high-minded commentary with no depth whatsoever into them whatsoever. I notice the people who try to "rationalize" only end up making up things in order to fill out gross inconsistencies to cover up that this was just a bad movie. The pussification of Leatherface is truly saddening. He only picks up and chases people with a chainsaw twice, the rest of the time whining like a little girl. I agree with some of the other reviewers here that there was no suspenseful buildup to the entrance of the villains whatsoever. When Leatherface in this one just walks to the girl and she reacts by trying to run away with him grabbing her, I felt like if I were in that situation, I would have just push-kicked ol' Leatherface. In the original, you felt that senes of dread when the kids found their old abandoned house and the one guy when to the house next door, went through the door, walking down the hallway, and then stumbeled to the doorway just as Leatherface stepped from the side, and the camera angle panned up just as Leatherface brought down his hammer on the poor guy's head. Now that was terror. Here, there is made no attempt to build up that suspense. Probably because of the ... acting. This film lacks the cinematography and picture quality that made the original work so well. The only good thing about this one was the performances of Matthew McConaughey and Renee Zellweger. Matthew was great as the head psycho and Renee exited me as the nerdy girl who finally summoned up the courage to stand up to the family, debase them, insult them, and threaten them just before the "big boss" came and she began to tremble down again upon realizing that the conspiracy that the lady talked about might have been true after all. It is because of them that I'm going to give this movie two stars.

Review: As with any review I do I'm not going to tell you the movie. You have either seen it and that's why you are here or you haven't and don't need me to ruin it for you. This is the film that made Matthew McConaughey, not "A Time To Kill". I personally didn't really care for him until I saw this movie, he plays a great psycho and is hilarious and terrifying all at the same time. The original Texas Chainsaw Massacre and this installment are both great films, the ones in between are just [garbage]. If you didn't like this movie, then you didn't understand it. Watch it again and again until you do. I personally watch this movie at least once a week, I love it that much. WARNING: This movie could possibly drive you mad, but in a good way. Buy it and make your friends watch it too, they'll thank you later. [PS-I also reccommend House of 1000 Corpses.]

Review: By far this is the WORST TCM film to date! The only thing that kept this film afloat were Renne and Mathew, though Mathew did overplay the role a bit trying to act too psychotic. And what is with Mathew's hydrolic leg? I mean come on that is SO stupid.. using TV remotes to operate the damn thing Pathetic!In the end this movie is just a disgrace to the other 3 films. I hope the TCM Remake does better but very doubtful considering what the makers of the film have commented on how they want to portrait it "It will focus less on the gore and more on the thriller aspect of the story". Hello?! As Gunner Hanson put it "Did you even watch the Original TCM?".. well put Gunner. If this is what is to be expected, then expect to see another Scream movie :\

Review: a goodyet weird movie i loved this movie im a huge huge huge fan of the chainsaw series the only thing i didnt like about thismovie letherface as a drag queen although he does humerous things sometimes and has some good chainsaw scenes hes stupid. matthew is very disturbing as vic the house crazy with a mechanicalleg and a girlfriend he abuses he cusses alot hits poor jenny to death while spitting on her thats a sick and pinful scene to watch he sets girls hair on fire hags them on meat hook hit them to death torture to death and grandpa has a tenny role and he looks alot younger and can walk! another thing i dont like is a mysterious man named rowan who seems to be the boss and has rings on his stomace.verey intense torture scene a pint of blood is barley seen the family members are ok theres a funny know it all name w.t or something like that. a different and disturbing sequel men dressin as women

Review: As a fan of the first two movies, I picked this one up with some trepidation. People were saying such bad things about it, I half expected it to have been shot on VHS. The cover art just added to my fears, as it called to mind Rocky Horror, but since I was going through a TCM phase anyway, I figured I should give this a go. What I found when I loaded this into my DVD was a half-decent horror film. Essentially, its just a remake/update of the original, but a weirdly effective one. New characters are added and new motivations are assigned and the world the first TCM took place in has radically changed. The DVD doesn't offer much in the way of extras. There are some liner notes and theatrical trailers for TCM:TNG plus some other, lesser movies. All in all, I would say, if you're a devotee of the first movie, you probably wont have much use for this interloper, but if you're just looking for a cheezy good time with some mutilation and conspiracy theory thrown in, you could do a lot worse then TCM:TNG.
