Summary: Great Movie!
Review: This movie is GREAT! Rachel Lange (Emily Bergl) is very cool when she attended in the party! It's a bit of boring in the beginning. When you see at the last part it's amazing! Don't miss this movie! Check it out!

Summary: THE RAGE: CARRIE 2: Say you're sorry!
Review: This movie was much better than I expected. Many flashbacks to CARRIE (1976) make this film an appropriate sequel. Emily Bergl approached Sissy Spacek's performance. Congrarts!

Summary: Better Than I Thought
Review: I was pleasantly surprised when I took a chance by renting The Rage: Carrie 2. I am an avid Stephen King fan and have seen and read the original Carrie. It was good; much better than I had expected. Don't get me wrong; it's not the best movie ever made. There are pieces of the plot that are a little far-fetched. But in general, I found it to be a very compelling story of teenage life. The lead characters, played by Emily Bergl and Jason London, were very strong in my opinion and the story was gripping. I was so impressed that I actually watched it twice. It's so much more than just a horror story. It's definitely worth seeing if given the chance.

Summary: AN EXCELLENT MOVIE!
Review: THE RAGE: CARRIE 2 WAS ONE OF THE BEST SEQUELS I'VE SEEN IN A LONG TIME! IT SHOWS EMOTION BEHIND THE LEAD LADY'S CHARACTER, AND WHAT THOSE POOR ACTORS HAD TO GO THROUGH ON THE FIREY SET WHEN PARTY SCENE AROSE! OMG! CARRIE 2 IS A VERY GOOD SUSPENSE, THRILLER, HORROR FILM! I SUGGEST YOU RENT IT!

Summary: Katt Shea must be a contender for "Worst Director Alive".
Review: Exquisite bad taste in execution is the first thing that struck me about this movie. It's rare that a movie puts itself squarely in the stinker pile during its first two minutes, but The Rage: Carrie 2 pulled it off. Right from that ridiculous paint sequence, which seems to want to be both campy and dramatic at the same time, you can tell that a cinematic schmuck is behind the camera.

It doesn't matter that Shea (whose credits include the horrendous Poison Ivy and Stripped to Kill II: Live Girls) tries to show off with black-and-white footage, slow-motion, sped up shots and fast in-out zooms (an antique device that should've been buried with those Bruce Lee movies). Her ineptitude with actors, shots, pacing, and even music (about 40 minutes in the film shouldn't have been scored) shows with every frame. The heinous script doesn't help, with characters saying the most unsuitable things in the dramatic situation and basically turning into human exposition machines. Emily Bergl in the lead role isn't so much incompetent as unable to save a badly written and directed character -- by never establishing "Rachel" as a sympathetic character in the first 40 minutes, Shea doomed the character to be a stereotype. Bergl seems capable of more, but there's nothing that can be done under such an incompetent director.

It astounds me, then, that somehow a great actress like Mena Suvari (who held her own in a mesmerizing performance in American Beauty, a film populated by classic performances by Kevin Spacey, Thora Birch, Wes Bentley and Chris Cooper). Her role is minimal in this film, yes, but that was an actor who might have put a bit of life into this movie. As it stands, even her role (best friend, Lisa) falters even if Suvari doesn't -- we don't get any real connection to her relationship to the Bergl character, so when Rachel loses Lisa, there's no emotional impact...just the awful aftertaste of Shea's terrible shot selection. Don't even mention "horror" -- the only thing this movie made me feel is utter contempt; this movie made me laugh not with it but at it, namely, at its worse-than-amateurish execution.

And yes...the climactic showdown...a ripoff of both the original Carrie and, of all things, Hellraiser III: Hell on Earth.

Run away as fast as you can. This movie deserves all the vicious reviews it received. And then some.

Summary: Insipid chiller somewhat redeemed by Bergl's performance
Review: "Carrie" is a horror classic, and it should be for many reasons. From it's superb lead performances to it's unforgettable shock sequences, it is a film that still stands as one of the most influencial chillers of all time. I didn't really think they would make a sequel, but unfortunately they did, and it's an insult to the original. "The Rage: Carrie 2"'s plot is a virtual mirror image of the first one, only with less power and impact and more buckets of fake blood and teen cliches. It clumsily tries to update "Carrie"'s story, and the overall results are weak and forgettable. I cannot believe that Amy Irving actually agreed to reprise her role, her character felt SO out of place and was probaly only written so there was a link between the two films. Okay, so the climax was extremely violent and disturbing, but so what? That doesn't make the movie any better, unless you're one of those people are love to see people get cut up like pieces of fruit. The only thing that prevents this movie from becoming a total waste of time is the lead performance by Emily Bergl, she radiates with talent that is almost strong enough to keep you distracted from the movie's poorness. ALMOST. "The Rage: Carrie 2" is one of the worst teen horror flicks to come out in a long time.

Summary: Carrie 2 is a winner with fans.
Review: I thought the movie was creative in that it just didn't create a completely new plot without using some of the original characters. It may not be the best plot, but the special effects, characters and some of the script was really good. I saw the original carrie and it sort of followed the same plot sequence. Bergl is a good "Carrie 2" and pleases the audience. This movie really "strikes a chord" with teen audiences with all the high school type scenes and issues. For all those people debating on whether or not to rent it, go rent it. It's better than you think.
