Rating: Summary: Worm your way toward the 'Add to Cart' button! Review: 'SQUIRM' is a fun little Drive-In-style horror flick that plays it straight, while having a load of fun along the way. The wonderful commentary by the director mentions the fact that 'MST3K' didn't need to parody the film on their show, when the film was a 'goof' from the start. I couldn't agree more. This film does what movies like 'Scream' did several years later, quite successfully: It sends up the horror genre, without, dumbing down to its audience or having too many "wink-wink" moments. The film uses close-ups of real "monster" worms and has a memorable moment with early Rick Baker effects: "Worm Face." All in all a very fun movie written and directed by Jeff Lieberman, who this fan hopes will make more movies very soon!
Rating: Summary: Killer worms that look like wet pretzels....ha-ha-ha ! Review: A horribly boring horror....geeze...the conversations that they have are so stupid, and then the worms devours the town....and they make them all one bunch...a swarm of worms...that sound like a Sesame Street horn when they move.....Ah! A Worm....(stomp)...lol
Rating: Summary: Comedy at its best Review: A lightning storms turns a whole bunch of earthworms hungry for blood, and you know, there's nothing scarier than a two-inch worm. The worms just start eating their way through a storm-flooded backwater, while a wacky peace-loving antique collector and his famished girlfriend go around trying to crack the case Velma-style. A laugh riot. Whoh boy, it's a roller coaster ride. Yikes! Those worms alomst got me!
Rating: Summary: Worms...killler worms?! Oh, come on! Review: All I can say is that they all look like a bunch of groups of wet all-bran...and they don't get anybody for a whole hour and then some..... Really boring.....
Rating: Summary: Worm Wrangling Review: As a 22 year old fresh out of college, I jumped at the chance to go to Savvanah Georgia for the winter and work as production assistant on this film. I ended up being the worm wrangler for the millions of "blood worms" the production shipped in from New York for the live worm effects. We also had a couple of tons of fake plastic worms shipped in from Hong Kong (I still have some. E-Bay anyone?). What a hoot to work on the film. All of the "authentic" southern actors were actually from Brooklyn (except the sheriff, who was the real sheriff of the town the movie was shot in). Notable actors were the guy who did the Hebrew National commercial (We answer to a higher authority) and Don Scardino who survived this blot on his career to become a well known Broadway actor and producer. The writer was a jewish kid from the Bronx, (went on to do the film "Orange Sunshine" about Yuppies who ate bad acid (and years later ate their kids and family members!)so so much for that "authentic" southern dialouge. Best story: I lived in the house used in the production. It was way out in the georgia woods and one day two locals came by to see what was going on. Dressed in their best overalls and spitting tobacco, they had a whisky still a few hundred yards away and were concerned about all the people in the neighborhood giving away their location.
Rating: Summary: Cheese at its BEST! Review: Before I go any further, let me just say that my rating has nothing to do with storyline, plot, or anything like that. By no means is this an Oscar caliber film. I'm rating it in terms of enjoyability... This film is so damn cheesy... but it's so funny at the same time. It's one of those films that you settle down and watch on a rainy Saturday afternoon. I guarantee that you won't stop laughing. This is unintentional comedy at its best! You've seen the plot a million times. Mutated monsters (in this case, worms) run amuck in a small country town! But this movie differs so much from all of those other films. It's just so BAD... so BAD that it's actually GOOD. I recommend this to anyone out there who's looking to escape the real world for a while and have a laugh. This is great stuff!
Rating: Summary: Very slow-moving Review: I am a very patient movie watcher. I let the credits linger and I panic if some body trys to talk to me right after a really great movie has ended, because how am I supposed to know what I think of it if I'm still soaking it in? Squirm has pretty much nothing to soak in. It's a talkie. It's all talk, really, and it is so slow-moving. It's just a terrible waste of time, and I waited for it to get better and it never did. By the end I couldn't get my self to watch the extra features on this disc, because I just really wasn't interested.
Rating: Summary: HA HA Review: I couldn't help but review one of the worst movies ever, considering the fact that it has been on MYSTERY SCIENCE THEATER 3000!
Rating: Summary: A classic 70's B-movie! Review: I first seen this film when I was a kid, it has a campy effect that can't be matched. Since it is set outside a lot, it is even more intriguing. I would say that it is my favorite movie because it is so offbeat, and the characters are interesting. A definite must see for fans of older humor/horror flicks.
Rating: Summary: CALLING ALL MST3K FANS! Review: I HAVE GOT WORD THAT THIS MOVIE WILL BE ON MST3K IN AUGUST,DONT KNOW WHEN,BUT ITS AROUND THE FIRST OR SECOND SUNDAY.STAY TUNED FELLOW MST3K FANS
