Summary: One Word: Wow
Review: "I didn't think the virus was going to kill us"

Yes, this is an actual quote from Mangler 2, the [worst] movie I have ever seen. The premise of the movie: Cords come out of a computer and kill people. Wow. I mean, I am utterly amazed at the complete stupidity of this movie. I know sequels are always worse than the original, but this movie is worse than Rocky 5. I am still blown away with this movie. Wow.

Summary: can't give zero stars, so...
Review: A few things:

This may be THE worst Stephen King-associated movie there is. That's right, THE worst. That's stacking it up against all six "Children of the Corn" sequels, the ridiculous "A Return to 'Salem's Lot," "Thinner," and "Sleepwalkers," each of which is so terrible that I could scarcely have enjoyed myself less had I been forced to undergo a colonoscopy at the same time. But as bad as those are, they can't out-suck this piece a crap.

And that's almost as much as I can manage to say. If you want specifics, just buy the thing.

But at least the opening credits of the film have the good grace to not mention King's name. That's good, since the film -- and I use that word loosely -- has literally nothing to do with King's story. Don't believe me? Check it out, baby.

Summary: SEE THIS MOVIE!!!!
Review: Although this film never made it to the movie theatres, as it was distributed on VHS only, it is without a doubt one of the best of it's genre. One can only imagine watching it on the big silver screen, I get goosebumps!
The screenplay as well as the directing clearly demonstrate that Michael Hamilton Wright's time has come. We want more!!! We can only count the seconds until Mangler 3 !! Please don't make us wait too long.

Summary: Why the film matters?
Review: As someone who grew up on DOUBLE CHILLER theater, the film fits nicely into that tradition. All horror should point to deeper human madness...in this case, our obsession with technology as both saving and sustaining. Mindless panic in the face of evil is an important theme of the horror genre. Of course, the only real acting in the movie comes from Lance Henriksen, who has become a true treasure for those of us who care about serious presence in such films. Like Peter Cushing, he can take a weak script and make it come alive. Lance Henriksen is to American horror films what Jim Thompson was to the American suspense novel...always real, always honest, and always worth experiencing. Who else but Henriksen could have transformed those closing minutes into something worth talking about later...the nightmarish results of human over-reaching? Graham Greene once said that a single scene could save a film. Well, Lance Henriksen has just proved him right once again.

Summary: Deliciously Fun new-age horror!
Review: Deliciously fun, but incontrovertibly grotesque, Michael-Hamilton Wright's sequel to the little-seen "The Mangler" is as cheesy as a tasty Jaffle, but at times as jagged and novel as the most chiselled of horror films.
Riddled with the kind of idiosyncratic characters we begin to expect from slasher movies and couple that with dialogue as hackneyed as a Voohees how-to manual, The Mangler 2 manages to draw you in with it's completely preposterous but undeniably entertaining plot about a killer computer that takes over a school and slices and dices the students one by one. As you do.
Obviously aware of the recent crop of atrocities trying to pass themselves off as teen slasher movies, this direct to video number revels in it's joie de vivre and camp stencil - and audiences will be drawn into it's new-age tale of terror.
Headmaster Badian (Lance Hendriksen) has just installed the ultimate computer system to control, lock-down and monitor the exterior and interior of the grounds. Unfortunately, troubled-teen Jo Newton (Chelse Swain) itches for a little revenge on her imperious principal and inaccessible father and so downloads a computer virus to the high school's mainframe. The Mangler's the kind of virus Norton couldn't even squat.
With meat freezers automatically shutting, washing machine's thirsty for flesh and electrical appliances of all sorts turning into murdering machines, it's up to Jo and her 4 accomplices to put a stop to the computer before it wipes out everyone that's stuck in it's path.
Whilst former new-tech tales like Electric Dreams (1984), and Ghost in the Machine (1993) tackled the proverbial 'computer turns nasty' storyline, it hasn't been done in quite a while, and probably for that reason alone "The Mangler" results in being a freakishly fun ride. And despite his lack of directing experience, newcomer Wright proves himself a dab hand in the editing and special effects room creating one of the more inspired slasher flufferies of late

Summary: Worst Movie I Have Ever Seen!!
Review: I have never seen such a bad movie in all my years. I have seen close to a 1000 movies and this was by far the worst. I feel bad for anyone that rented it or even bought it before they saw it. The only thing scary about this movie is that someone actully thought it was good enough to be released. The first movie was actully good this was just a disgrace to the movie industry.

Summary: absolute dreck
Review: I would have to agree that this is the worst movie I have ever seen. And I'm not even that picky, I like a good B movie, and I really like horror movies, but this movie is just plain stupid. Whoever this guy is who wrote and directed it should get another job. Like bussing tables or something. I can't believe anybody let this thing get made. They should have taken it out in the desert and buried it.

Summary: "Order in my chaos"...BWAH - HA - HA!!!
Review: Is this horror movie for you? To find out, simply ask yourself these following questions:

1. Do you find the image of wires slowly stretching across a floor to be particularly terrifying?
2. Do you have no problem believing hackers can easily buy viruses off the website named "Hacker Mall"?
3. Do you enjoy "Spice Girls" songs being referenced almost 10 years after they were relevant?
4. Do the words "You've Been Mangled" appearing on a PDA display send chills down your spine?

If you answered "Yes" to any of those questions, then this movie is for you. In fact, if you enjoy movies that are so bad, they're hilarious, then this movie is for you, too!

Here's the <SNICKER> "plot" Jo (played by the talented Chelse Swain, who deserved so much better) is an angry teen who is enrolled at Royal Collegiate College! (Did she also go to High School School???). What she's angry about, we're never really sure. So she downloads a virus named "MANGLER 2.0" into the school's high-tech computer system. The virus then uses the computer system to slowly (very slowly) kill off the 5 or 6 people who are still in the school. The virus also falls in love with Jo (no, I'm not joking), because Jo gave "birth" to it... which is kind of an odd statement since Jo didn't create the virus, she only downloaded it from a hacker web site. Will Jo make it out alive??? More importantly, will you stay awake long enough to find out???

Where do I even begin??? How about the fact that almost all of the kills happen off-camera, including the guy who was killed after computer wires wrapped around gardening shears and slowly picked them up... (Yes, you read that correctly) And the ways people die... burned to death by a sprinkler system... jumping up and down on an electric fence yelling "It's safe"... Then there's the various "in-joke" references, like when the Mangler tells an African-American student that the black guy doesn't always die first! That was so clever...back in the late 90's when Scream 2 did the same joke! But it was still better than hearing the Mangler actually say "TELL ME WHAT YOU WANT, WHAT YOU REALLY, REALLY WANT!" Make it stop...

And how do you make a bad movie into an even worse DVD? How about accidently omit a scene where a major character dies??? Thes a moment where the teens are running in a gym, then the screen goes dark. Next thing you know, they're all outside talking about their murdered friend. At first I thought I had a defective copy, but now I find out other DVDs had the same glitch! HOW DO YOU ACCIDENTALLY OMIT AN ENTIRE SCENE???

The only saving grace is Chelse Swain, who does give an effective performance, despite her character being so unlikeable, and having to say ridiculous lines like "I have to find order in my chaos"! Other than that, all you get is a boring story moving with one-dimensional characters who suffer lame kills (a couple of which are actually seen). Only rent this one if the video store is out of "Plan Nine From Outer Space"!
