Summary: Not Bad...
Review: This film is not bad for what it is. But what it is happens to be a bad film. But don't be too harsh, it's an indie flick with a prerequisite to be faithful to that infamous Easton novel and film. And for that, it misses completely. With all that aside, they could have at least not cast that washed up actor Shatner. The rest, Mila Kunis and Geraint (From that 'Forever Knight' fame)Robin Dunne and Lindy Booth, are all superb. The only thing that gets tiresome is Mila's constant voiceovers and her 'bad girl' comments to her fellow students. Other than that, "All American Girl" is pretty sharp. Her devil-may-care attitude is something I'm sure all college students have felt and watching her hack those annoying students to bits is somewhat of a guilty pleasure. All in all this movie seems to have a sick appeal to it and is worth watching a couple times.

Summary: Great sequel to a better movie
Review: Don't expect this to be anything like the book of the first, or the movie of the first. This is a made for video movie, with your basic stupid synthetic score, so don't expect much. Mila Kunis is excellent, though, and a lot will agree with me. This is more of a comedy than horror, and quite silly it was. This time it is an 18 year old obsessive compulsive disordered dame who kills off competition, with quite a nice ending. I think this is more underrated because too many people were expecting it to be just like the first, which of course, was way better. Nice movie to rent on a friday night. Better than this Scream and IKWYDLS tripe.

Summary: Doesn't do justice to the original movie and book
Review: This movie is mildly entertaining, but doesn't have the punch of the original. In fact, it really doesn't have any justification as a sequel. If it had been made as just another teen horror movie, it would have been okay. As it is it is a half-assed attempt to cash in on the name of the original, offering nothing new. It is a sequel in the same way that American Werewolf in Paris was a sequel to American Werewolf in London.

Summary: A bad movie? Yeah, right!
Review: This is one of those rare cases where a film's sequel actually surpasses the original. Of course, the chances of that were very high since American Psycho was possibly the worst serial killer movie EVER. Social satire? Materialism? Yuppie culure? Newsflash: no one cares! That can't save a movie like American Psycho from being what it is: boring. Period. This movie, however, is what the first American Psycho should have been. Throw out all that... business card fonts and 1980s music bands because they don't belong in a serial killer movie. Granted, I appreciate the attempt at creativity, but come on. Anyways, this movie has a very hot girl serial killer (gotta love that) doing away with the classmates that stand between her and her life goal: Quantico's FBI training academy. This means death to all other contenders for her professor's TA position. I love the fact that she wants to get into the FBI and stop serial killers so badly that she becomes one herself. Way better than the explanation Patrick Bateman had for killing people. At least this girl has a goal. And a personality. Something Bateman lacks. This movie has great twists and has you guessing the whole way. And by the way, the acting -- terrific! The actress playing Rachael, the killer, here is a lot more interesting than Bateman, and in this case, even a better actor. Full of black humor and plenty of murders, this movie puts American Psycho to shame because it actually manages to be somewhat interesting. This girl [does not care] about her culture. This is the way a serial killer is supposed to be. If this weren't the sequel to American Psycho, it probably wouldn't be as fun though. Because it has the chance to take all those fans of the first installment and make them sick. And they deserve it for making that film so popular and making me thinking it was good so I would rent it. American Psycho was a waste of money. American Psycho 2 is not. At least bad movies can produce [good] sequels. It doesn't happen often. While this is not the best movie out there, it's way ahead of the first movie in storytelling and enjoyment. It really shouldn't have been a direct-to-video. This is high quality for a direct-to-video movie. If it would have been released theatrically, like it should have been, then fans of the first movie would have gone to see it and hated it. That would teach them a lesson for making me waste my money by giving it good reviews. If you liked the first, you'll hate this. If you had taste and hated the first, this is a breath of fresh air. There's been talk of an American Psycho franchise. I'm certainly looking forward to it.

Summary: American Psycho 2
Review: THIS FILM IS AN ABOMINATION!!! If you have any respect for the work of Bret Easton Ellis, Mary Harron, or Christian Bale, you will not subject yourself to this filth. Everything that was exciting, funny and intriguing about the first film is gone. I want everyone who loved the amazing first film or the great book to consider this film a personal insult. Any and every trace of the social commentary and significance of American Psycho has been wiped clean away. What we are left with is a straight slasher flick, and a poor one at that. I only wish that there was a rating lower than 1 star. I wish there were ratings in the deep negatives. i wish i could give this film a rating that reflected the 88 minutes it stole from my life. This film is a defamation of the Title "American Psycho." Erase it from your memory. Deny its very existence.

Summary: It was cute
Review: ...It's rare to see a sequel achieve what the first was able to, obviously since the first one was in most cases responsible for the sequel being made. This however, was not the case, this movie was not made as a sequel to American Psycho, if you watch the outtakes you can see plain as day that they had an entirely different title. Lions Gate chose to release the movie as a sequel so the plot was reworked to include references to American Psycho. Now if you read any articles or reviews about this movie prior to seeing it, you already know all of this. So you have to take the movie for what it is.
I thought this movie was one of the best of it's kind. The typical plot of the young, sexy, extremely intelligent, albeit malicious, conniving and I dare say compulsive woman that integrates herself into the life of her targeted obsession. Mila Kunis was adorable and seductive at the same time, she took over the lead role with a screen presence many older actresses don't posess. As a long time non-fan of William Shatner, I really didn't hate him in this movie. He played his character over the top appropriately. Geraint Wyn Davies was perfect as the suspicious therapist, there was just enough chemistry in all of his scenes with Mila Kunis to keep you guessing who was smarter.
... I will also have to stand up and say that I enjoyed the soundtrack. The movie was all about the confidence and power exuded by the lead, which in this movie happened to be a woman. So the majority of the music was female artists, and I will go so far as to call it "chick music" for lack of a better definition.
I gave this movie all 5 stars because it was a great (stand alone) movie. It had a well thought out storyline, even with the additions made to transform it into a name only sequel. The acting was there, the cast was impressive in their character depth, and the music backed up each scene. I say if you are a huge fan of the first movie, don't see this one without throwing out all your expectations. To love this movie, you have to judge it on it's own scale, and not take it too seriously.

Summary: It's fun as a comedy
Review: I watched this movie as a joke. The first movie was okay but that's comparing it with the book. This "sequel" (only by name) is meant to be a satire I think but it came off as a joke to me. I laughed at it and actually was entertained by how bad it really was. It's a badly made movie by a director who obviously did it for the paycheck (we hope) but I couldn't help laughing and getting a kick out of this movie. This movie will definitely have an audience and a cult following (a small one but large enough to be classified as a cult following) but for most people, it will be horrible. Just take it as a comedy and you might actually enjoy it. Then again....you could make some sort of drinking game out of this movie I bet lol.

Summary: Terrible...
Review: I should have known that this was to be one of the worst movies ever, but I took a chance and rented it. Well, actually, I didn't pay a dime for the rental, because ever since I got a job at the local Movie Gallery in my neighborhood, I can watch the movies weeks before they hit the shelves. Now that I have seen it before the shelving, I can persuade others not to see it. Beg for them not to pay their beloved money to rent it. To actually pay money to rent this film would be a sin.

This is basically a low budget film that trys to be as good as the original. It has none of the sophistication of the first installment, nor the wit or comic touch. The first "American Psycho", although a bit sick and barely recommendable, was a good but flawed satire on 80's materialism. It had its freaky moments, and most certainly its hilarious ones. The writing was clever, the humor was biting. This second installment can't really be called this films sequel. It's not worthy to be called that. "American Psycho 2" lacks all of the qualities that made the first film so effective, and replaces all of that with horrible dialogue, weak attempts at humor, and most of all...terrible, terrible performances all around. What is it with actor Robin Dunne? He's been in every straight to video sequel from 2000-2002 that I can think of. "Cruel Intentions 2", "The Skulls 2", and now "American Psycho 2". He's cursed. He's in Horrible Straight to Video Sequel Hell. Also, we must express our sadness for poor William Shatner. Here he is, totally mis-cast as a horny middle-aged man, involved in an adulterous affair with a girl young enough to be his daughter. He also spews GD and the F-word frequently. Wow. What is this world coming to?

Please, for the love of God, SKIP IT.

Summary: Miracles do happen - this film getting made is one of them
Review: 17 minutes into "American psycho 2" I fell victim to crippling stomach pains which, quite frankly came as something of a relief. I persisted through the appalling dialogue and commentary, only finding occasional reprieve from the pain via William Shatners comical acting and random swearing. After 45 minutes I was wondering what kind of exceptional conspiracy or super bribery had allowed this film to be in any way affiliated with American psycho. At the films "conclusion" it became more than obvious that the director had screwed the pooch and would hopefully never work again. As the credits rolled by I found myself lying on the floor, hunched double in anger and agony.
My tests and examinations at the hospital revealed acute functional dyspepsia precipitated by the atrocious soundtrack. I feel one day, with careful tuition and support, I could rent a DVD again, but it sure won't be this kind of stomach bending, straight to video pap.
