Summary: GREAT HORROR FLICK!!!!
Review: All these other reviews citing lack of logic and bad plot must be deaf or not watching close enough becuase all the questions had easy answers i found while watching this movie. And kids sometimes in a horror movie answers are left unaswered cuz its better and more scary that way. It make you do something called think or invent your own answer, as in be creative, which the other reviewers here seem unable to do. Most horror films will disapoint you if you cant think. For gods sake dont rent a foriegn film you would really be lost. The plot is about a boy who was concieved during the rape of his mother by a monster. The couple who bring thier son with them in the car, LOL cant believe someone said how did the son get there. That reviewer must have been in the bathroom during that scene. They all go to the town together years later and scary fun things happen. Horror movies are not about good taste so dont expect it. In fact i get insulted when they get all pc on me. If i wanted that i would rent some lame soap opera like stepmom. This is just a fun monster in the backwoods fun gory fright flick. Its well worth the money horror fans of that you can be sure.

Summary: Adolescent angst like you've never seen it
Review: Even the TNT, ad-filled, edited-for-television version of this unsung classic scares one. I have enjoyed this film since I saw it on that channel when I was 14. The film leaves one feeling scared, isolated and angry at the society presented by this study in a terrifying puberty.

Summary: Lotsa Fun!!!
Review: First caught this film on HBO some years ago. Loved it. Since then have had it on CED, Beta, VHS, and now I'm anxiously awaiting my copy on DVD -- 2:35 ratio and all! It's definitely not for the young ones -- it starts off with a rape scene. Some may consider it dated by today's standards, but it's just an old-fashioned horror movie which holds up very well. Eerie, scary fun with a few surprises. Would never expect the all mighty Leonard Maltin to like it -- actually, I wonder if he even has any taste in his mouth!

Summary: I love Horror films- I was bored
Review: Great cast wasted. Ron Cox, LQ Jones, R. G. Armstrong and others.
Teadius meandering plot.
Dumb setups and forced acting.
The director gets the worst performances out of some of the best character actors.
This is one of those movies where you are completey distacted in wondering..."why is this not working?" - but there is so much...

For a horror TBWI aprears to have been well budgeted as can be seen by quality actors, camera lenses, film stock, lighting, music, audio and special effects - what is left out is actor-direction, a story, a good screen play, atmosphere, dynamics and imagination.

The director has the actors give the same reaction whether they take a wrong turn during a pleasent Sunday drive or they witness their son turn into a murderous pulsating monster.

The plot, as well as the monster are slimey and unintentionally very silly.

The talented Lex Baxter has written the scores for some of the very best horrors. Even Lex could not not help this film. Albeit he really tried.

For me (a horror movie lover) I was very bored.
But
Excelent sound and picture quality from MGM!! Why?

Summary: A serious cheese fest but still fun
Review: HAH,HAH! I caught this movie at a dollar theater in my home town of Miami,Fla. when I was in the 7th grade. I never saw such a cheesy horror film like this but it sure was loads of fun for me and my fellow 7th grade buddies especially that we were all horny little devils and the nudity kept us looking forward to the future.Great fun and I must say the special FX were ok.

Summary: Not worth owning!
Review: I read the reviews of this movie and ordered it. After watching the movie, I really felt like most of the reviews were misleading. The back jacket of the DVD is a clearer description of the actual content of the film. Its about a cannabalistic swamp creature that rapes a woman on her honeymoon night. She is totally passed out, so doesn't see anything. The movie skips forward about 18 years and we have a young man going through changes in his body and mind. The doctor's say he is dying. The parents go after the man (creature) to try to find out the nature of their son's rare, genetic illness. Eventually the whole family ends up in the town which is harbouring the secret of this creature. Lots of bloody carnage ensues as the boy changes into his father's own image. Now, even all of this, bizare as it is, could be deemed interesting. I liked the idea of the ending, and the way they tied the story of the injustice to the man (creature) to the events in the town. But the truth is, the movie wasn't what I expected. I have a wide range of interest in horror films. I enjoy 1980's made for TV movies, I loved Carrie, The Exorsist, Poltergeist, Fright Night and the more recent films, Sixth sense, What Lies Beneath, and The Others. If you want to really enjoy yourself, order one of those films, or all of them. They will not dissapoint you. This one will.

Summary: I Hate Bugs.
Review: In short, a woman is raped by a human cicada. She gives birth to a son and 16 or so years later her son turns into a giant grasshopper and rapes another woman. It's a fun movie. It moves quickly and has some romantic drama, until the son becomes an insect. Its a little over dramatic, and the acting needed some fine tuning, but the writing wasn't bad and the concept was interesting. It was hoaky and campy in places, aren't all these movies at some point? Check it out. You'll like it.
