Summary: NIBBLES AND BITS
Review: THE RATS is the best of the many rat horror films we've been "blessed with."..and mainly because instead of trying to make the rats gigantic or monster like, this movie just used large rats to cause the kind of uneasy panic that we had with JAWS and THE BIRDS. There are some really disturbing scenes with these huge rat infestations, and for a t.v. movie, the CGI effects were done very well. The DVD also includes an "Animal Channel" spot showing how the rats were trained to crawl all over the subway train driver.
Madchen Amick, such a beautiful young lady, and ruggedly handsome Vincent Spano, both do a commendable job and they're highly likeable. The little girl, too, is not your typical "aw, mommy, don't get a new daddy" brat.
And yes, Ms. Amick did come out a winner in the finale, but maybe she wasn't wearing the right kind of cologne?
I liked this movie...it's fun.

Summary: It [is bad]!
Review: This wasn't scary. It was a waste of time. Why do these directors feel the need to "revive" a genre that everyone else hates? No body cares about B-Movies anymore. Especially these creature features. It's film's like this that killed the genre so as they would say in Pet Sematary "Sometime's dead is better." This is how this genre should stay, DEAD! Until someone with talent writes a script that hasn't been used a 1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 times before and actually gets people who have talent and can act, then I doubt we'll be seeing any good movie from this genre for a long time. This director needs to give up, he's got no futer in the film industry. Quit now while your ahead.

Summary: The Rats
Review: What a movie! Probably 2001's best "genetically enhanced rats attack new york city" movie. Only two words can describe the acting: Oscar worthy. I'd rather wake up to find my room mates crapped in the kitchen sink than miss this film.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Surprisngly Well Made T.V. Flick.
Review: When a disease infeacted Rats is being running around New York City. Which they are Stalking and Killing the Citizens of NYC. An attractive Clothing Store-Supervisior (Madchen Amick) and an Expect on Catching Rats (Vincent Spano) are trying to stop and destory these Rats before taking over NYC.

Directed by John Lafia (Child's Play 2, Man's Best Friend) made a scary, entertaining film. Which it was made for Fox Television. There's some CGI effects on the design on the Rats. Some added violence, gore and nudity made this an R-Rating. This is One of the Best Rats films in a long time. Grade:A-.

Summary: Incredibly good!
Review: When I saw this movie I thought, Oh great, another low bugdet, lameo B-movie, but it turned out to be great Scifi. The acting was great too, but you have to give credit to those rats, and you never know if some science experiment can actually go wrong, especially in a place like New York. Hey ya never know.

When a customer is strangely bitten in Garsons local department store, Susan Costello (highly underrated Madchen Amick) the head of relations, starts to worry. Rats have been overpowering the city in ways people can barely escape surviving the horrific attacks. Rats infest the rec center pool where Susans daughter swims, people have been killed by the little terrors, and the rats seem to be leaving their little presents all over Garsons. With little time left to destroy these Rats from reproducing, Susan calls in Rodent specialist Jack Carver (Vincent Spano) and his assistant Ty to help sort out the mess. As things grow worse and the Rats grow more powerful, they know they must think of a way to destroy them and quick.

The acting was great as I said before. Vincent Spano was good as the Rats expert. Haven't seen him in a while. Madchen Amick was beautiful. For the credit she should get, she's a highly underrated star. This is definetely a movie that would catch your interest. It keeps pace, and even gives you an ominous ending. 5 stars for a great movie.
